Category Choice Health & Wellness Gift Card

Need help in procuring $2500 value of Category Choice Health and Wellness gift card to pay for my partner’s surgery bill. I purchased a $500 gift card from Amazon during recent 4% discount to try first before buying more and it worked. Hoping someone can help me find some savings in paying remainder of the surgery invoices.

There are Discounted eGift Cards available*

*eGift Cards are similar to a Gift Cards except that they are digital instead of physical..

Have a look at the Merchants at Comparison - eGift Cards and see if you are eligible to buy from any of them.

The Direct Amazon Link for "Specialty" Gift Cards is:
    https://www.amazon.com.au/b/ref=s9_bw_cg_AGCAUG_3a1_w?node=1…

These promo credits end at Midnight and others with promo credits in "Specialty" Gift Cards may be listed from tomorrow and each week.

    • Thank you for sharing, I started with checking the Wiki, I don't have access to Aust Unity or HCF portals and from additional comments, it seems that even those two portals might not have the Category Health and Wellness gift card available. 4% off 3K is $120 savings. But if I can't easily find them, I'll just pay with normal credit card in the end.

Time value of money is around 7% at the moment. If it takes you say a couple of months to gather the GCs, that's an opportunity cost of say 2%.

vs saving 4% and the risk with holding so much in GCs and (potential loss if you're buying from the classifieds).

Check your credit cards - you might have some spending incentives (e.g. have an Amex spend $1k get $50 credit, 3 times).

    • Yes, well aware of current high interest environment. In this instance, I am seeking to use this right away. No such AMEX or other card offers unless I go sign up for yet another CC, not worth it with negative impact on my credit score.

      • Is it worth all the stress and hassle to save a max of 4% of $2100?

Better off getting 4% grocery discount cards and then using the savings you make there on the medical bills.

Sounds like ADAGCHS in the making.

Another Day, Another Gift Card Horror Story.

It is the way a few people here poke fun at posts related to gift cards, because the forum posts on here tend to be about when something in relation to gift cards has gone wrong (e.g. someone’s gift card balance was stolen, someone was scammed whilst trying to buy gift cards through the OzBargain classifieds, someone is wondering when a refund is going to turn up on their prepaid gift card). If you search for ADAGCHS, you will see what I mean.

I think their concern is that the lengths you may go to acquire $2500 worth of Category Choice Health & Wellness gift cards at a discount will lead you posting a horror story in the future (e.g. “I paid for $1000 in gift cards from the OzBargain classifieds, but the seller has stopped responding.”).

I cannot think of a way to get any Category Choice Health & Wellness gift cards at a discount at the moment, and it is something that has usually been not available for sale with a discount.

    • I have only seen Category Choice gift cards sold on a small number of online platforms to begin with (e.g. Giftz, Amazon AU, HCF Thank You).

    • The Amazon AU sale earlier this week was the first time I had ever seen Category Choice gift cards available for purchase at a discount outside of a members-only portal.

    • The Category Choice Health & Wellness gift card has been on sale once on the HCF Thank You (and maybe also NIB Rewards and Australian Unity Wellplan Rewards too) at 4% off or 5% off, but that was a limited time deal a couple of months ago. Those portals should only have the Category Choice Tradie & DIY and Category Choice Groceries gift cards for sale at 4% off or 5% off at the moment.

yes, 3% and 4% off respectively until next Saturday 31st - also 11% off Priceline :)

ps i’ve never received an email about any HCF sales/specials - have you, or is it just a case of checking their website?

I got an email on 20 August from HCF advertising some of the current HCF Thank You deals, but I usually just check the HCF Thank You website myself, as HCF is pretty bad at advertising these sorts of deals via email.

      • No longer with HCF, if I recall correctly, they make you wait for 30 days before giving you access to HCF rewards portal?
