I’m weary but gonna take a shot. Wasn’t perfect but had some fun with Inquisition.
Going to be hard following Larians Baldurs Gate 3 but.
Inquisition came out 10 years ago and Anthem bombed 5 years ago. It may be the same studio name that made Inquisition, Origins or the original Mass Effect games but it's not going to be the same people.
Sure, but every AAA now days is a 5-6 year project outside of a few studios churning them out quickly (e.g insomniac) so can say the same about any title really. Anthem was a very different title and plagued with service issues with its attempt to be a live services game.
Anyway, it’s Amazon so can cancel up to shipping date anyway if what’s coming out doesn’t look interesting.
@Smigit: True, but the concern is everyone who didn't want to develop Anthem left. Other studios which consistently put out quality titles that fit their niche are less of a worry because they're developing and maintaining in-house talent well. But when a studio pivots like that, it becomes a completely different studio after the turnover. What I mean is, the Bioware name shouldn't mean very much at this point. I.e. Ship of Theseus analogy.

saying inquisition is shit is some next level trolling type of shit
the game starts good high stakes, interesting premise, demons pouring into the world etc
however 7 hours in you're the most important person in all Thedas (legit) as you are the only person who can stop the rifes but for some reason you become the master of 'fetch quests' can you go and collect 10 herbs for me mate it isnt like you got anything better today, might collecting some iron for me? oh get me some wood bro? (dont get me wrong you expect this early on in a game it is a way to teach players how to play and level them up but this was honestly happening the entire game)
Then Bar Varric (and you get over him too) and Iron Bull (who i swear was written more for a laugh for romance options with Dwarfs however i did like his character) the entire party hard boring generic personalities and it got to the point i didnt want to have dialogue half any of them (opposed to DAO in which i legit wanted to talk to everyone even Wynn had something interesting to say) - i have heard Solas get interesting in the DLC but i couldnt bring myself to go back to that rubbish
If you and other gamers enjoyed it that is fine, to me it was average at best considering how quickly is faded in the gaming community i dare say im not wrong. It is only people who have no standards would say DAI was a (great game) i personally set the bar high for AAA games and i didnt rate it - i can see how if you have never really played a 'good' RPG before you might enjoy it but im a seasoned veteran and this wasnt great
for the record they doesnt mean DA3 will be bad but the trailler looks bad, like really bad
