New Route: Cairns to Bali Direct from $236 Return on Air Asia @ Beat That Flight

140

AirAsia has this very week launched a brand new direct route between Cairns and Bali!

This also connects Cairns through Bali with a lot of other AirAsia destinations for less.

AirAsia, as anyone who reads my other AirAsia deals will know is my favourite low-cost carrier, with excellent food onboard that's actually worth paying for, IMHO.

Regardless, this price is phenomenal, is return and is direct!

Game changer for my mates in Port Douglas , Jetscum will have to offer fair prices now , plus you get connections into Asia more broadly

  • Nice i hope port headland soon

  • Too bad they don't fly to Gold Coast anymore.

    • Don’t worry, I believe the Cairns route will be axed in the next 5 years, probably less. I just don’t think passenger loading is going to be sustainable on this route.

      • Most people I know up there will use this to connect elsewhere in Asia on the same airline, rather than paying $800-$1000 return to Singapore on SIA

Sia from Bali is very interesting, especially now that Bali no longer has a visa fee. It's a great option for business class flights to Europe for 2k return, or as a great first stop for a oneworld round-the-world trip.

Airport still a mess though :/

AirAsia can connect to rest of Asia but except for Cairns local, just don’t see many people fly into Cairns from the rest of East Coast in order to get onboard this AA flight into Bali then to the rest of Asia. Imagine how many from Brisbane or Sydney will fly to Cairns then self transfer AA flight onward to Bali?

I believe it was more for Asian to enter into Cairns for holidays. Not denying Cairns is very nice place to visit but unfortunately it has so much less attractions compared to Gold Coast and Brisbane, how many time do you think visitors will come? Suspect AA likely will struggle filling the flights, ended up killing the route very soon…
