Looks a bit hectic to me, but might give it a shot.
Different strokes. Personally i find ror2 to be amazing and a good change, but ror 1 is also good in different way too. If anything I wish ror return is not just a remake because why remake very similar thing instead of trying something new, maybe something like a top down perhaps?

This game is an example of one of the best indie games ever, definitely worth getting
I have prob $10k of games - All I play is Rust and Synthetik.
I own Risk of Rain and RR2 and prefer Synthetik.
Synthetik2 went 3D as well and I own and dont play that.

haha not bad, i found it so fun but in the end i had no time to protect my base
ROR2 also has a new expansion in development.

I really didn't like the change to 3D in this one. I'm really glad they then went on to make "Risk of Rain Returns", which is 2D again and much more of a true expansion/sequel to Risk of Rain.
