Just saw this handheld/portable massager which runs on AAA batteries on sale at Big W.

Keep your expectations in check but I bought one recently for the wife as we found the big AC powered ones to be far too heavy and sometimes too powerful whereas this is more of a gentle vibration style massage with a few different 'heads' to choose from. With no cord and it being relatively lightweight, it's easy to bring with you or leave on a bedside table. My kids also enjoy using it.

This may also be a good inexpensive gift idea for fathers day too.

Funnily enough I actually saw this in Big W yesterday but was shocked at how tiny it is. It looked to be only about 10cm or so.
I can understand your wife's issues with the weight and power on some of the bigger brands/models but I wonder if this would be powerful enough for a man.
Given it's size and being battery powered rather than rechargeable I decided not to buy as, someone who has chronic pain issues, I don't think it would be powerful enough for me.

    • I think that will be powerful enough for some sensitive areas

    • I use hand massager from Aldi (quite heavy for female maybe). Every year Aldi sells it at $40. Maybe helpful for chronic pain. When I am feeling more tired or backpain, it makes me feel better.

      • Thanks @neoleo for that advice. There are so many on the market it's good to have some positive feedback on the one Aldi sells. I have my eye on one from Coles that has just dropped below $40 but I will check out Aldi's as well and see which one is heavier. :-)

        • Aldi's hand massager maybe only available on certain month of the year, maybe not available all year round depends on stock availability.

  • Has many uses

  • Does she enjoy the pulsating vibrations?

    I’ll have what she’s having.

  • 'for the wife'

  • With no cord and it being relatively lightweight, it's easy to bring with you or leave on a bedside table. My kids also enjoy using it.

    Ew.

Got mine. Okay, yes it's tiny, and by comparison with almost any other massage gun it is lame in terms of power (there is no stroke length to speak of, it just vibrates).

However, my purpose is for face massage, particularly the sinus areas and also jaw muscles. With the more pointy attachment, I'm finding it excellent for this, precisely because other massages are two over-powered: you don't want to be pushing something more powerful around your eyeballs.
