  • OOS already.

I can still add to cart, maybe not available/doesn't ship to your location?

      • I think you're right, shows stock in private tab.

Is this good for security cameras?

    • +1

I use this model for my POE cameras, works fine.

    • I've also got one of these running my cameras. A single Ethernet to this on the other side of the house, then 3 cameras running off it flawlessly and a spare port in case I want to install an extra down the track.

      • Is there a limit to consider e.g) whether you can run 5x 4k cameras or is it limited to 5x 2k cameras

        • POE switches have a rated power output. And POE devices have a rated power input. You need to use these numbers to determine what you're asking.

  • Wait, this is a bit confusing. Looked up this switch. This is a 5x 1 Gbps PoE switch. The switching capacity of the circuitry internally allows up to 10 Gbps, but talk about weird marketing - if I understand this concept right, that is 5 Gbps in surplus capacity that the switch cannot physically tap into. Please let me know otherwise if I am misinterpreting this?

Duplex so the switching plane needs 10Gbps.

5 gigabit upload, 5 gigabit download simultaneously = 10 gigabit switching capacity

  • Is this suitable for POE access points? The U6 series in particular, or better off going with Ubiquiti switch?

    • It is fine I've used a few exactly the same for my u6LR and u6 pro. If you get one of the new u7 ones some require the 802.3bt standard though and this only supports af/at

    • For most APs, PoE+ is fine. For high end ones, you might need more power.

The PoE requirements of each AP will be mentioned under the product spec sheets.

    • +1

Amazon one has PoE+ (Power Over Ethernet).

  • Excellent deal for a POE switch. Extra 10% off if you buy 2 (which I did).

Shipping not for 4 weeks though.
