  • Nothing beats a razor for a shave - these are close cut at best

      Agreed.

      Waste of money these are.

Can get something for less than half the price for a full shave

Ah yes, the good old OzBargain "something."

I use something similar to this to shave my head, I used the razor every now and again but my skin is too sensitive for it. I wonder if this is any good for head shaving as mine is on it's way out.

Recommend you persevere with the razor
        - You'll eventually work out the best way to navigate your head and hair direction to give you a clean shave
        - Don't shave your head more than once a day
        - More blades = better generally, as it's less harsh on any bumps or ridges

        • The problem with me is that I like a very smooth clean shave so I always end up shaving against the hair and end up with bumps for days, I use a triple blade razor and a new one every time I shave, not sure if s 4 or a 5 blade razor would be any better.

          • @itsmoe: I find multiple razors are brutal on my head. I used a cut throat razor for years and it did a way better job. However for the last couple of years I've been using a shaver similar to the one in this deal except it was $20 or $30 from Aldi, it's been great. It's actually pretty amazing how close they get, I reckon similar to one days growth after a razor cut.

            • @cv05: Yeh I have Skull Shaver (2 actually both were gifted to me, one's battery has already died and the other doesn't last for more than 5 mins and keeps cutting out). I need a replacement but I don't want to go the super cheap AliExpress route.
I might just grab this but I will watch some reviews later first. Hopefully won't be gone by then.

@itsmoe: Shaving against the hair will always give you the cleanest shave but be careful not to press the razor into your skin - let the blades do the work

The skin on your head is super thin so it doesn't take much pressure to push it into the blades

Also make sure you always move the razor in the direction of the handle - any sideways action will lead to cuts

Try a couple of those one-razor five-blade packs from the supermarket to see what works best for you

A good lather also helps while you're getting the hang of it - try Nivea shaving gel - lightly wet your scalp first and use about a 2cm strip

            • @protecon: Will sus that out. Cheers, I also bought the Remington as it seems too good of a deal to pass on.

Maybe nothing beats a razor for closeness of shave, but what about convenience, safety, etc?

  • I really wish this was USB C

  • High failure rate in these. I have returned 3 already.

Mine failed exactly a day after 12 months, I got a pitbull skull shaver and never looked back!

  • I shave my face and Shine-O Ball-O Head and have something similar to this. Whilst I prefer the finish of the SE Supply Razor, I prefer the speed and ease of this. It gives 95% the same result as my SE razor but in 1/5 of the time. Perfect for rolling out of bed at the last minute before leaving for work.

  • Nothing better than a Philips shaver. Higher price but you pay for quality
