What Should I Do? No Response for My Online Delivery Order for Weeks

I ordered 2 computer cases at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/857452 (original post). Order paid and confirmed. I tried to contact the seller, Yoo's Technology, but I couldn't. Their number shown on their website is out of service. I also tried their email, no response, either. I even tried to ask them on WeChat. They responded a few times before I paid, but no response at all after that.

They told me their new place was under decoration, so pick up option was not available. I searched them on Google map, the place is permanently closed. Then, I searched their ABN registration. It came out their registered address is a private house.

They just disappeared. All the ways to contact them shown on their website do not work.

What should I do? Has anyone got contact with them? Should I report them to ACCC? Here is another chance, perhaps the last chance, to contact them, since they use OzBargain, too.

Edit on 05/09/2024:
Latest update: VCAT application submitted. Asking Yoo's Technology to pay me back including application fee.

    Cc chargeback

    • I can't. My payment was made by bank transfer. There is nothing I can do on the order page.

Why on earth would you pay for something with bank transfer. Unless you are paying your mate back from a dinner out together, I don’t see who’d use it to pay for goods or services.

Silver lining is that, it was $120 not $1200. You might just have to eat it and learn from your experience.

Edit: the above is probably a bit harsh and I have definitely made similar errors.
I would contact your bank regardless. The fact is you paid for something you didn’t receive. If you have an invoice or something that says please pay to
        Yoo’s computers
        BSB..
        ACC..
        $xx

As long as you have proof of that and the money left your account, I’d be ringing your bank. Maybe it was stopped as a suspicious transfer or something.

Next step is if you are in Melbourne, I’d drive to their address. It is just an industrial estate so if they weren’t there but the signage was and the business next door was open, you could perhaps ask if they had the owners contact details as you were meant to pick up an order. Even do this if the signage had gone. People in those estates are sometimes friends and sometimes enemies.

When you look on google, it seems like it is permanently closed and “under new management”. This and their other business is registered to a house in Vermont South. I wouldn’t show up at someone’s private residence but you could send a letter of demand asking that they contact you immediately. Send it via registered mail.

Thank you. You're the only one helping me. I am sad those people just making fun of me.

Yoo's tech confirmed my order after I upload my payment invoice. They only accept bank transfer and PayPal. I've tried contact the bank, but they said they would manage only unauthorized transactions.

I did learn something from this. Thanks for your help.

@Meteor Anarcom: Unfortunately it is the internet and people will be dicks for the sake of it.

I’d push your bank a bit harder, you might need to talk to someone a bit more senior. Yes bank transfer has little protection but my bank helped me during COVID when my gym closed and they refused to stop the direct debit. I was paying for something I didn’t receive. In the end they gave it back to me. I guess technically they were unauthorised transactions.

There should be a form they can give you to fill out, give it a go. If no luck at least you tried. Since it is for a relatively small amount of money I wouldn’t waste hours but give it a try.

It would be gold if Yoos see the @ and respond to this thread and it turns out they’ve replied to OP and the emails went into spam or something.

You just believe any random comment on the internet ? Could of been associated with yoos for all you know.

  • Ah yes, the well know "yoos computer", with a "too good to be true" 70% off deal. I can't understand how anything went wrong.

Good news! They have dropped the price another $10 since that deal.

is everyone experiencing this kind of shopping experience lately but keeping it to themselves like me? seems like after covid either systems aren't being maintained properly and a lot of orders are done manually somehow, or employees are just fed up with everything and do things extremely slow.

honestly like in the last 8 months the title roughly sums up my experience buying from REAL companies (direct) and REAL stores (I'm not talking about eBay etc and the only one which is quicker to resolve issues and give happy outcome is amazon). and going by some complaint posts I have read on other sites such as reddit sounds like I am not the only one.

not trying to call these stores out but as an example my last 4 expensive (roughly $100) purchases basically got this experience. after the first "we've got your order" email it's absolute silence for 1+ weeks. after contacting them it's always the same response "everything is going as planned, and your item will be shipping soon" or basically "we're working on it everything is great thank you." kind of auto response which is friendly and makes you think you would expect the same if you contacted them again. then after kind of just giving up but not wanting to cancel the order (because you want what you paid for) if you are lucky it randomly ships, like over 2+ weeks after purchase.

I think a lot of people would have lost patience in the first few days because they are used to amazon level service, and after complaining just cancelled the order. but then you don't get what you bought do you?

it's really weird when I hear this happening across different products and different companies/stores.

I'm open to hearing a good explanation of what's happening but I found it got much worse in the last few months.
is it some kind of Paypal fraud prevention for the company/store? (I can imagine after covid lots of people finding somekind of loop hole where they can order something then somehow cancel to get their money back and the item).

or maybe some international related shipping/ stock issue? tbh it's been getting to me how often it's happening now. I just want what I paid for in the estimate time delivery time provided, but seems like companies are like treading super careful about sending you your product or something.

    • I've had zero issues with anything.

    • It depends. I had good experience at Scorptec and Amazon. The shipping was really quick.

Sure, it takes time to ship overseas. I bought something from Amazon US last month, but it is still not shipped yet. I understand because they told me it usually takes 4-6 weeks to be dispatched.

However, at this shop, before I paid, they said the items were in stock, so it would take only 3 days to be delivered.

If it is a common problem, I can wait for another few weeks.

      • I can wait for another few weeks.

yeah you can wait. but no guarantee it will ship. I had to cancel some orders because it seemed like it was never going to happen.

maybe another possible explanation, is they don't have stock but they still allow the item to be purchased and show as "in stock".

        • I asked. They said those were in stock. They might lie. I have no idea.

          • @Meteor Anarcom: my most recent super delay item arrived btw.

            here’s how it went.

Ordered 21 July. zero updates so contacted them via email around 2 weeks later (~5 August). few days later first progress since “order received” order page shows “shipped”.
3 weeks later item arrived 20 something August.

again this has been happening more and more lately. started about the beginning on the year and it happens regularly.

            • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: I asked them to cancel the order before I placed another order. They ignored that then sent them together. I asked to return the order I asked to cancel. They refused to return that.

Now, I am ready to apply my case to VCAT.

              • @Meteor Anarcom: yeah as I said in my comment above. seems like it’s kind of the norm lately.

either they are jacked/backed up with orders even after covid, or are extremely under staffed (maybe bosses, owners realised that they can run the business just fine with like 2 employees packing online orders and replying to emails). or both.

quick shipping and service has gone downhill as I said.

                • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: My right as consumer is not protected properly. They were not able to complete the order within agreed timeframe, so I had the right the cancel the order, but they didn't.

I've bought their company information on ASIC. If they don't do a return, I will pay for VCAT application

                  • @Meteor Anarcom: ok fyi. I heard from others even big Aussie computer stores have been purchased (some of them a couple times over) by dodgy international companies.

Not all but some of the biggest ones like PCcasegear.

be careful in the future when shopping. Seems like the only ones you can rely on these days for a acceptable shopping experience is Amazon, JB etc.

even when waiting around for price drops you might pay a little more then other places but it’s worth it if you actually get what you bought within reasonable time.

                    • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: True. Even Amazon is not reliable now. I ordered a pair of RAM from Amazon US. It has been 2 months and still not shipped. I asked customer service. They gave me AU$10 GC and told me it will be shipped within 72 hours. It's about only 14 hours to 72, and it is still not shipped. It's to early in America though

                      • @Meteor Anarcom: out of a hundred orders I had that issue only once. And it was from Amazon DE.

I have ordered many times for bargain prices from Amazon UK/US/JP with zero issues.

if you wait a month, first tell them it’s unacceptable and an error on the system because it will never ship. Then ask them if you can buy the same item shipped from Amazon AU (make sure they have it first) and if they will credit the difference in price if it’s more expensive from AU. that’s what they did for me because I put up with waiting for an Amazon DE item that wouldn’t ship for a month.

if anything Amazon takes care of you. for all other shops they just won’t communicate. even some big Aus retail stores won’t take you seriously until you bring up ACL.

                        • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Thanks for your advice. My order was not processed by their warehouse at all. They asked me to cancel the order and reorder it, and they would pay the price difference after it completes. I hope they will.

            • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: They are not checking the email at all. The only way to contact them is WeChat. I'm not sure if they don't check message frequently or they just want to ignore my request.

              • @Meteor Anarcom: yeah well my experience is more or less the same as you, except I contact via email and don’t cancel anything unless it’s literally over a month with zero response.

WeChat? Isn’t that like a Chinese messaging app?? 😂 are they that desperate to save cents they outsource to WeChat??

                • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: They shipped those cases from China. Those were not "in stock" at all, I guess, they just ordered those cases from China after they received plenty of orders. They are even Chinese shipping labels on my received package.

Maybe they're still decorating? I hear finding contractors (or resellers for that matter) is really difficult atm..

You ignored all the responses in the thread decided to chance it?

    Have you tried Yang's Cafe?

  • Buy two more, there is the same chance you might get them too !

This time, just slip the cash under the door of Yang's Cafe and wait a few weeks for delivery ;)

    • -1

LOL. It did work. Bought 2 more and they shipped those with a tracking number.

  • If they also own a cafe, the only answer is bikkies.

  • Why was I stupid lile that? Even I knew it was suspicious. I still ordered and paid for that. WHY? Is it because I am a fool that believe everything on the Internet? Or I am a child that is not able to think? I just want some computer cases. My computer is just put on my desk without a case. I did not want that immediately since I've being using this set up for a while. It also can be used for another while.

If you see the profile of the person who said received their order, you will believe they are just normal customers. Yeah, I know it can be hacked by Yoo's. LOL. Bad jokes.

    Stop bullying me, please.
