Finally a backpack that makes Crumpler look reasonably priced!
It was available at the Bellroy website for $246 at the last black friday sale, so not ATL, but still a good discount.
Check out the Victorinox bags. Bullet proof.
What place do you recommend to purchase them? Any current deals?
The Victorinox Travel Gear (602154) is currently on ebay for $156.87
@[Deactivated]: Oh boy…
@soaringphoenix: I was starting to think they may not really be Chinese, but rudeness checks out. (Source: My entire family…)
I have a victorinox bag but unfortunately the material ripped at the seam from picking it up… I didn't have any stuff in the bag.
:-/
Victorinox really need to work on their marketing. Their own product page for this bag only shows a single photo of the actual bag itself.
I have this bag… I work in tech traveling a lot, and used it as a daily driver. It's damn-near perfect but for one fatal design flaw - the straps don't keep their length, so whole you're walking around the bag gets more and more loose, so you end up walking around constantly tugging at the straps to tighten them.
I contacted support who were very helpful, but utterly unable to fix the problem (tried sending me some extra clamp things that were useless)..
If they could fix this problem, this would be the perfect laptops bag IMHO.
That sounds terrible, and not really fit for purpose.
sounds like a design flaw.
also no luggage sleeve to slide onto a roller bag?
Can concur 100%.
Amazing bag, other than the completely useless straps!
What were they thinking or doing in the design process, let's see how great we can make the bag. Then… 'anyone road test this for comfort or practically?'. Oops, wtf were they thinking, shakes head in utter disappointment.
I believe they have fixed the strap issues in their newer batch.
I’m having exactly the same issue with my bellroy duffle bag. Other than that it’s a fantastic product.
I don’t have this bag but the other version, I have the exact same problem. Always need adjustment when the bag is heavy. The strap clip I have, lost it after one use. Lol
However the other products are great no issue. Bought the tote, sling, wallet, mini pouch, all good.
Overhyped and overpriced
Twice the cost of an equivalent Samsonite/Victorinox.
Can't believe they tried asking $3xx for them.
I don’t have their bag but have wallet. After having that, frankly I wouldn’t purchase any other wallet. It’s so damn good.
As a buyer I would expect the same quality in their bags as well and for that, even to try out, willing to pay a bit extra.Which wallet? I had a couple of their leather wallets. Replaced with a TH wallet my wife bought me. Can’t say the Bellroy was much more than your standard slim leather wallet.
@CommuterPolluter: Hide n Seek slim wallet.
I had TH for almost 10 years before Bellroy. And this just is amazing for me.@PopCounty: Yeah that’s the same bellroy I got sitting in a drawer. Not much difference in qualities between the wallets from what I can see.
Whoever’s interested in minimalist backpack, I would recommend this one from Uniqlo (RRP $79.9) or wait for the upsized cashback.

Any interested in the sling, there’s some inspired versions on aliexpress that are $15 or so.
Looks like a bog standard backpack. How are they charging $270?
I wouldn't mind paying a premium price for a backpack, but this is uninspired
Because "An Australian-based brand from Bells Beach and Fitzroy"
And is made in the PRC.
Well. Supply/demand. For as long as people are willing to pay for a sub par backpack.
How do you know it's 'sub par'? Do you own one?
Yes. Once upon a time.
If there are much better bags (with straps that work, LOL) at a quarter of the price, then it's not a bargain.
It doesn't matter how much of a "discount" this is off the crackhead RRP.

This blog is fantastic.
It’s hard to do with an OzBargain post but regarding the leather jacket in the link, I will ask myself how much I’m willing yo pay before looking at the price tag. I set my own anchor.
I've got this backpack and really like it. Great for travelling. Super well made and I've had no issues with the straps at all. I paid $249 about 12 months ago. Also check out The Iconic, Milligram and Rushfaster for Bellroy.
I recently had a very minor issue with another Bellroy product, and I only really messaged them just to leave feedback and they offered me a replacement. Very happy with the customer service and warranties.Evol backpacks for $10 shits all over this.
$269 my a$$I have a Bellroy Via Workpack. It's ok.
Not worth the price tag really @ rrp $239
I find I use my $20 High Sierra way more often (i.e. daily) whereas the Bellroy sits in the bottom of my roller duffle prepacked with charger/etc. for overseas trip use (so I don't need to empty the High Sierra).
The straps on the High Sierra are also comfier (better padding) imho, and the side handle is a plus.
Luckily the Bellroy bag was a gift.
$270 for a backpack? I thought this was OzBargain
What's your point?
Sht bag? Shrug
I reckon it’s pretty obvious to anybody with a clue.
Some people don't mind spending more for quality items. Just because you wouldn't personally spend that amount on a backpack, does not mean it shouldn't be here.
Also, for someone that has only submitted a single deal since joining in 2021, I don't think you're in any place to dictate what is and isn't a 'bargain'.
@magic8ballgag: No need to chuck a wobbly mate, it was only a light-hearted comment in the first place.
@CommuterPolluter: Was it really though?
There are backpacks that are way more than $270 that people will still buy.
If I saw a deal for an Evergoods CPL at this price I'd buy it without a second though.
Should people not buy 4K OLED TVs because they cost more than a thousand dollars?
Yeah, Bargain doesn't exclusively mean getting the cheapest possible bag or whichever is the most discounted, it also includes expensive products that are still good value and thus bargains because of their quality and longevity. The subreddit r/BuyItForLife revolves around this and it would ludicrous for you to suggest we aren't bargain hunters because we're willing to pay $270 for a bag.
The fact that this even has to be explained is beyond me.
It's also always those that contribute nothing to the community but yet are the quickest to judge on whether a deal is worthy or not.
The irony is that the people who reflexively bark "$X for a <whatever>!!1!" are also going to be spending money on something that others could just as well think is silly- OLED TVs seem pretty commonplace, fancy SUVs, cigarettes or golf clubs.
It's just a complete inability to see a different POV.
@rumblytangara: Yep, and then there's some extremists who spend the bare minimum on everything in life.
I respect the hustle, but it's not for everyone.
Despite the comments, the black one is no longer available. 3 left for the green one.
Waiting for a 90% discount coupon…
Every time I see a Bellroy backpack deal I'm reminded me of how grateful I was for the Ozbargain community who steered me to a Peak Design one instead lol.
Which one did you get? I didn’t like the curvy shape of the PD ones so didn’t pull the trigger
I got the travel backpack 30L, it was perfect for travelling overseas, and when I had to go to another city for a 3 day trip I just took the bag with me, very impressed with the quality and the amount of little pockets and zips and extra features. Used the 20% off richroll code from Ozbargain, came to around $350, but definitely a buy-it-for-life kinda bag. The only gripe was the straps are just a little too wide for my 5'2 petite frame lol
Damn. Now I want blue skittles.
@Tiggrrrrr: I wonder what flavour they'd be?
I have a Peak Designs. I appreciate most of the pack, but the shoulder strap design sucks enough that I stopped using it for anything except plane carry-on.
Got this bag and really enjoy using it. Definitely on the steep end but using it as a daily with no issues holding 12" laptop with a set of clothes
For those that missed out it's now available directly on the bellroy website, all 3 colours
https://bellroy.com/products/transit-backpack?ad=&adgroup=&a…Thank you!
In comparison, I still prefer Peak Design.
I think the texture of Bellroy is not as good as that of PD in terms of pictures.
Thought it was a suitcase lol
