This is a branded watch with a 2-year warranty, so you don’t need to worry about any privacy issues.

  • Does this need a phone linked to it or can you call and track your kids with just the watch

    • Phone is not required but you need to download app on your phone for video calls and location etc.

The below email I received from the Catch Connect last week said this device would NOT work properly in a few weeks time.
    "From 2 September 2024, your Imoo Z1 device 04xxxxxxxx

will be impacted as Optus starts switching off its 3G network. It’s important that you act now to stay connected.
Even though you have a newer 4G/5G model, it relies on 3G in certain areas. This means your ability to make calls (including emergency calls to 000), send messages, and/or use data may be impacted."

    • does this mean this watch still works where 4G is available and doesn't work when it relies on 3G in certain areas? So, having 4G every where is not an issue?

    • these notifications are sent to all devices compititable with 3G and 4G. all imoo watches can function normally after 3G shutdown because it supports 4G

    • Please note that this is geniune EU Version
      • Watch functions remains the same as the Australian Version
      • Watch is fully unlocked to any networks in Australia

Why not get the EU version? $119

  • new Apple Watch SE is going to be all plastic to lower costs, have more available colours and targeted at teens apparently. https://www.theverge.com/2024/8/4/24213086/plastic-apple-wat…

price will be double this though.

  • I bought this for my 9YO son 2 years ago using a CATCH $89 SIM plan, no issues. He swims with it, both pool and beach which includes diving down to about 2 metres
and will sometimes wear it in the bath/shower. The call quality is good. You can control who can call your child through the app, including having downtime while at school
where they can only call emergency phone numbers (e.g mum and dad). You can use the built in GPS to locate your child, handy when you go to a large outdoor event
as it's accurate to within 10 metres. The main issue is that now he is 11YO he thinks the watch is too child like, so he's now embarrassed to wear it,
so I ask him to keep it in his bag or pocket, this means he now has trouble hearing the phone/watch ringing. The battery lasts for between 5 & 6 days which is fantastic.
I highly recommend it for younger kids, but big grown up tweens may think they're "too cool to wear it to school"!
