To the person that reported me for referral/affiliate, I do not have any association with Best Aussie Markdowns or ALDI. I also do not gain financially from posting this offer or other offers that I've posted. I have volunteered my time in writing these offers.

      Got your back trixieb.

They're what we call gutless idiots. They don't have the guts to say anything publicly and probably don't even post themselves. I had the same on an Amazon deal the other day and a heap downvoted me for calling it out. Guess what happened? The report was dismissed.

What's this Best Aussie Markdowns? Is it like ozbargain, but on Facebook and without the silly downvote anonymity?

      • Best Aussie Markdowns is a public group on Facebook that shares deals and markdowns. Different demographics and deals to OzBargain. I found out about this group from a post here that mentioned it.

I haven't participated in the group or checked the group often so can't comment on what the group is like. The admin of the group appears to be a member of OzBargain. We don't know each other. As it's a Facebook group, you can only like and not downvote. You can post anonymously on Facebook.

It's fair that I credit my source for this offer, hence I mentioned Best Aussie Markdowns.

  • Aussie's priced out of skiing holidays, Aldi camping sales to be the new hype.

  • I want to buy hammock chair.
Would aldi have a lot stock?
do I have to pre order?

    Thank

    • Would aldi have a lot stock?

Stock varies between stores. The bigger stores may have more stock.

Although not relevant to this hammock seat, ALDI has a page where you can find the list of product delays:

      https://www.aldi.com.au/special-buys/special-buys-product-de…

do I have to pre order?

I'm not aware of ALDI accepting pre-orders.

The hammock seat is available for purchase on Sat 24th August. It is best to go to ALDI early in the morning as soon as they open on 24th August. Opening times can be 8.00 or 8.30am depending on your location.

Just avoid this sort of fight at ALDI a few months ago:

    • It's not guaranteed you'll find what you want even at opening times, stores have different quantities and often deliveries are late and not there.

  • Does hard anodized aluminum cause Alzheimers?

    • No, according to numerous articles I've read.

Here are excerpts from 3 references. The last one is an excellent summary:

      Alzheimer's Research UK

      • Looking at all the evidence in this field of Alzheimer’s research, there is not enough high-quality evidence to conclude that everyday aluminium exposure in a healthy individual causes Alzheimer’s disease. It is possible that larger, more sophisticated studies may one day find a link, but for now we can be reasonably confident that exposure to aluminium doesn’t seem to be an important risk factor for the disease.

      • It is important to note though, that most cases of dementia are caused by a complex mix of factors that interact together to make a disease like Alzheimer’s more likely to develop, not by one thing alone like aluminium. These factors include our age, genetics, lifestyle and environment.

      Dr Rob Brown MD

      • There are two types of aluminum pots and pans on the market: anodized and non-anodized. Anodized cookware has a thin layer of aluminum oxide on its surface. This layer makes the surface more durable and less likely to flake off and corrode. Therefore, if you prefer to cook with aluminum pans, anodized aluminum cookware is a safer product. Anodized cookware conducts heat quickly and its surface is nonstick and scratch-resistant.

      Dr Andrew Weil MD

      • Anodized aluminum is sealed so that the metal cannot leach into food or react with acidic foods. Unlike ordinary, lightweight aluminum pots and pans, which are highly reactive with acidic foods (like tomatoes), anodized aluminum cookware is safe. It is also non-stick, scratch-resistant and easy to clean.

      • Concerns about the safety of anodized aluminum – and aluminum in general – stem from a proposed connection between aluminum and Alzheimer’s disease. This emerged decades ago, leading to worries about exposure to the metal through food packaging, beverage cans, antiperspirants, antacids and some other medications, as well as from cookware. Some studies have shown increased levels of aluminum in the brains of people with dementia, while others have not. But research has not found an increased incidence of dementia in people with occupational exposure to aluminum, and the consensus today is that aluminum is not a cause of Alzheimer’s disease.

      • Well-made anodized aluminum cookware that doesn’t have any scratches is probably okay as well, but when cooking in ordinary aluminum pots and pans (or scratched anodized cookware), be aware that acidic liquids will react with the metal, which can then get into food.

      • Bottom line: Undamaged anodized aluminum cookware is safe.
