    Killer price..

I have two of these and they're great.
I'd argue these are better than the next model up (320) which I also have.

You can connect them to an NVR for 24/7 recording too.
Low light quality is great, so much so that I don't need to turn on the ir night vision

    • Why do you consider the c310p2 better than the c320? I am thinking of getting these. Thank you

      • +3

On paper specs the 320 should be better, but after using both, the 320 image quality just isn't quite as good. The colour profile is weird.
Plus the white led on the 320 aren't bright enough for usable light, and too bright to capture faces (over exposure)

    • Which NVR is suitable for this?

      • +3

Any. It uses an onvif stream.

I feed it into some cheap generic Chinese nvr

        • Can you buy 2 of these and connect 4x cameras to the NVR?

        • https://www.amazon.com.au/TP-Link-VIGI-Continuous-Monitoring… <— $168 for an 8 port POE … no Wifi though …

Unless you have any other recommendations ?

          • @CereaL: But are these C310P2 cameras PoE? I think they're just separate power source, no ?

            • @Widget: ONVIF Ensures Compatibility△: Easily add IPCs from VIGI and other brands to establish a powerful and varied network thanks to barrier-free compatibility.

^— sounds like it would work …..

            • @Widget: They sadly are not POE

    • +1

Are these PoE? How'd you connect to the NVR?

      • Both wired and wireless.

        • oh it's wired as well? that means they could be converted to POE then :D
          thanks for the update

      • I connect mine wirelessly

  • Even though I’ve got eufy and imou setups covering my place at this price I’m tempted to try out tapo too. Wish it was 12vdc input though so I could add it to my 12v garden lighting circuit (website says it’s 9v)

    • You could in theory run two in series.
These run off as little as 5vdc.

      • Hmm a little unconventional - good idea though.

        • +4

Or just use a $2 buck converter off eBay to step down the voltage.

          • @edrift: Also good idea

          • @edrift: But if buck-converter fails, wouldn't there be a possibility it could pass-through full 12v & blow the camera?

            • @Widget: I'd trust that more than trying to run them in series. Weird things can happen doing that.

    • You can run it on 12vdc. It just gets a bit warmer I reckon.

  • Camel x3 says was $89.61.

I did vote positive however. Just a shame if you missed that price ( if it's correct).

    • I reckon that might have been for a single unit. They sell for $99 each elsewhere. Goodguys had them for $75 each when I got them

  • How does this compare to the famous eufyCam 3 (S330) ?

    • Depends if you want 24/7 recording. If not, eufycam would be better. Then again it costs much much more

  • Someone in the comments mentions it comes with a UK plug, easy to modify?

    • Just use a plug adaptor

    • So these need to be plugged in to a wall socket?

      • Yes

  • Good idea to install this indoor with the camera sitting behind the window?

    • +1

I did try at home. For daytime, yes it's ok. but for night time, it's blurry due to windows reflection

      • if you turn off IR (or nightmode) you may be ok?

  • Trialing TP-Link Tapo at the moment, coming from Wyze, and pretty happy. Bought a C120 for outdoor and C225 for inside. Both bought during the amazon sales a few weeks back. Looks like i'll be gradually turfing all my Wyze cams.

    • I'm in the same position as you. I have 2 gripes with the Tapo eco system, first is the viewing time limit if the camera and viewing devicec (phone or tablet) is not on the same network. It's limited to 5 minutes before you need to click yes on a reminder notification. It's a small detail but one that makes things a little annoying.

Second is I wished the Tapo cameras use usb instead of an adapter brick.

Outside of those two I think the cameras are great for security. Having the option to view multiple cams at once without adding them to a group is cool.

      • OK, how do i do that? :D

  • What's the most basic way to use this? I would like a front door monitoring system and maybe have it connect to a dedicated monitor and check in on the phone if possible. Can hard-wire it but I'm just lazy.

    • I have a tapo at home. You can put and sd card in them and connect them to wifi and they will 1) record any movement of the type you want to the sd card 2) notify you on your phone if they are connected to wifi.

You can set up a dedicated monitor if you really want, they support RTSP but it's slightly advanced, otherwise you can just use your phone whenever you want to see what it sees.

      • Re SD card, can you delete wirelessly, or do you have to take the SD card out of it?

        • +1

Yes you can delete remotely without having to remove the card

  • How is this compared to the Arlo and is there any cloud storage option ?

  • These are British imports. Do we need to change the plugs?

My only issue if false alert many a times, but mostly they are reliable.

  • Why does it say "ultra high definition" when it is:
    3 MP (2304 × 1296)

    • Chinese megapixels.

  • Is this battery powered or do I need to plug it in to a power source?

    • need to plug in power source and you may need to use adapter as others have stated above.

      • Would you know the power source needs to be wired to reach to the cameras?
Is there a guide on how to do it myself or I have to find a licensed electrician to install the wires for me?
I dont have any power sources/plugs external to my house so I am unsure how to connect them.

        • if you don't have a power outlet nearby then no, you cannot do it yourself. Australian regulations require a licensed electrician install any GPO

  • Damn hard wired kills it for me no power points near where I need to put them

    • Use a long extension cable?

  • Amazon have (I think) the Aus version for $169 Tapo C310. Has anyone tried a price match being it's the same unit?

    • Amazon don't price match, ever.

      • no but they offer price protection

        • They do?

  • anyone know if compatible with the previous C400S2 kit ?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/819141

    • Yeah same app

  • I like this, I think I'm going to pull the trigger.

  • +1

I'd like to use something similar to this but just strip most of the cloud features out and just use an NVR.

Tbh I don't even need the WiFi as I'm planning on using PoE. Are there any cheaper alternatives to this that is purely just PoE with no extra features like WiFi or recording to an SD card?

  • What power adapter are you guys using to convert to AUS plug?

  • +1

Bit the bullet. There's also 11% off for 2 or more items so I purchased 2 x 2 packs for $181.35. Bargain

  • +1

Arrived yesterday, tested them indoors yesterday and ordered UK to AU adaptors from Amazon. They arrived today and I had them installed this afternoon. So far they look and perform pretty good for the price!

  • So these are Uk plug and not au

  • I ordered this and received bath mats?!
