Just bought the 605L Hisense French door from JB for $1030. Very happy with the purchase.
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hisense-hrcd610ts-609l-pu…

    • good price- howd u manage that? negotiated deal?

      • I straight up asked them that this is the fridge we saw on your website and like what would be your best price. Sales rep spoke to the manager and made this offer. I then asked him to print the quote in writing. I did shopped around and Harvey would not do under $1600 and good guys was $1500

          great price!
any chance you could share the receipt? Interested in trying to get the same or similar price on this one!

    • +1, but I couldn't get that price a year ago. I hate when storage is reduced due to external screen, filter storage and water dispenser, as I use none of them. Able to convert 3rd door was best option if you use less freezer

    • Keep an eye on the defrost timer, Hisense are notorious for bad timers
Had to replace mine after 13 months, about $50 for a non-OEM part

  • $2849 on samsung edu store if anyone has access

    • Same price on gov store

Friends don't let friends buy Samsung fridges, let alone a:

    • four-door (poorly sealing)
    • WIFI
    • Camera-equipped (just open the door??)
    • AI-enabled (need I say more)
      smart fridge, with
    • plumbed ice maker (hole in the door where cold air escapes)
    • water cooler (replacement filters required)
    • that's ridiculously large,
    • has freezer on the bottom (less efficient as cold air must be forced upwards into fridge section against adiabatic gradient / willing to admit that top-mount fridges suck).

With all these features, I'm disappointed it doesn't also cook the food for me automatically, and incinerate the vegetables I forget to eat. Step up your game Samsung!

This Cronenberg-esque food cooler has lurched out of Samsung's sacrificial spawning pool, a state-of-the-art appliance with…
    A 3/6 ENERGY STAR RATING.
That's right, on top of $3k upfront, it will cost $1800 to run for 10 years (with NSW rates), if this abomination even survives that long, notwithstanding filter replacements and servicing.

For the savvy consumer, I have proposed some alternatives that you might employ to mimic a fraction of this monstrosity's power.

Got this fridge when EDU store had 40% off stacked with another 5% off for first time app users.

Every item will have good and poor reviews, last comment is focused on the negative and as an actual owner of this $5000+ RRP fridge, it's the only one on the market with a smart hub, as no one else does this. I was considering this is, or an inbuilt Liebherr integrated into the pantry. The Samsung has so much more capabilities and features.

All I can say is …. I can't be happier. It's amazing. It's perfect. Drink dispenser and infuser are great. Ice blocks and chips are extremely useful. Integrates with Ring Door bell so you can see who's at your door, also has speakers so you can play Spotify and depending on future integrations it may work with other smart home appliances. Live in 2034 not 2014…

Anyone considering buying, do your own research. I paid like $2600 or something delivered. Bargain.

If you think AI is evil and cameras are out to get you then, you should probably burn your smart phone, get a hammer and smash your laptop, then finally and destroy your digital footprint/delete all social media 😅

      GLHF🥵

Agree entirely. Appreciate people may have had bad experiences but I have had it since 2019 and love it for all the reasons that were stated by @db2k. My review here https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/99bac79b-1457-4d77-…

        • @Blistering barnacles I reread those reasons against, and they're actually all the reasons WHY I wanted to buy the fridge 😂😅

That kind of logic explanation is saying … "don't buy a car with AC, it's over rated - so instead buy a fan with a really long extension cord" ….

People want large bottom mount french door fridges with plumbed water dispensing .. that's actually a thing…

          • @db2k: The AI comment rubbed me.. I've been dreaming of a smart fridge implementation that would stocktake itself for when I'm at the shop for like ten years now.

Of course when something new rocks up, all the naysayers will need to chime in

      • I've got this fridge as well and have been pretty happy with it. Paid about $3800 delivered from memory, but that was when it first came out.

Sure the AI thing is a gimmick, but just ignore it.

The camera is surprisingly useful when at the supermarket and the calendar on the front is genuinely useful for planning out a week with 3 kids. Sure I could jam a webcam and an iPad onto a regular fridge, but, (profanity) it, I needed a fridge and had the money, this works well.

I've got it linked into Home Assistant so seeing the power draw and cooling cycles is interesting. Also having the house speakers announce that someone left the fridge door open amuses me no end.

    • Yeah, I don't get fridges with the freezer on the bottom either. Silly idea.

    • Just a couple of things about what you've said:

plumbed ice maker (hole in the door where cold air escapes)

Most newer Samsung's, including this one, have moved the icemaker and water dispensers back into the fridge/freezer itself. Not only does this reduce the problem with having a hole in the door, but dramatically reduces the failure points that so many fridges (Not just Smasnug) have with failures due to routing water into the door.

      Camera-equipped (just open the door??)

I've had this fridge a little over a year now and, as gimmicky as it seems, it's can be quite handy being at the supermarket and seeing what you've (not) got in the fridge

      that's ridiculously large,

Try having 3 kids. It's largeness disappears pretty quickly.

has freezer on the bottom (less efficient as cold air must be forced upwards into fridge section

I'll admit I haven't looked at this at all, but surely you WANT the colder area on the bottom? From what I can see of the plumbing, you get the partially cooled air going into the top of the fridge, just like in any fridge, and then there's a 2nd stage of cooling for the freezer further down, so you're not forcing any cold air back upwards.

  • You need to get a plumber to connect the water though

    • If you don't have a point already there. If you're just swapping out 1 plumbed fridge for another it's pretty simple.
