Wow a truely amazing discount of $7/annum.

So generous from a government-owned and tax-payer funded organisation.

Gets us back to their previous subscription prices, before previous discounts

I guess the CSIRO is doing their bit to raise the cost of living for all tax-payers

You’re welcome not to purchase. Given it’s a print subscription, they really aren’t making much money off this after you take into account postage and writing costs.

Also, your local library will have a copy, so if the price bothers you, just go to the library.

how do you know they're not making money from printing and subscription? that's not their primary business and beside if they worried about subsidiary costs then why can't it be digital ?

          “Not making much money”

Postage is expensive even in bulk - it’s probably closer to $1 each in this case
          Printing isn’t cheap
          $6 a magazine isn’t exactly charging a lot

Writers cost at least $25 an hour if they are hiring minimum wage, if not much more.

Also, if you went through the link, you would have noticed digital options exist.

Is this why this is a subscription to the Double Helix Discount Magazine and not the regular Double Helix Magazine what is written by humans?
