  • What is people finding on this kind of deal… are the prices same between going through shopback/cr compare if going direct to booking.com?

    • +2

not for me, when i went directly to booking.com, it is cheaper.

Second this. Always compare with two different browsers (or one in incognito) or mobile app. Cashback mostly overpriced compared to booking.com directly. Ymmv

thats what i thought! this cashback is really just way to trick us.
well its true they never advertise "the price you see will always the same (through us or not)". but still, it should be disclosed or warned.
i think someone need to make the gov aware and regulate this kind of thing just like banks.
or ozb should have put warning on every cashback deal, to warn people that the prices could be different (via cashback vs direct)

some noobies will fall into their trap for sure.

  • Usually you save the same 10% by booking directly with the hotel and it's not tied up in a cashback account for 3 months.

  • Will booking on Booking.com invalidate IHG rewards points and status for their hotels?

  • Anyone had experience with changing the card that is going to pay the accommodation and still getting cashback? For places that aren't prepaid but will be taken like 3 days before arriving?

  • I made a booking a few weeks ago through the booking app but have only scheduled the payment. If I click through the shopback app/link now and make payment now, can anyone confirm if the 10% cashback will be applied?

    • Doubt it. If the price hasn't changed much, just cancel the old booking and make a new one.

It’s cheaper just booking through the app or with a genius discount.
