IF YOU ARE ALREADY A BOOST EXISTING CUSTOMER, You need to port out to another network and then port back in

If you are already on Boost, you CANNOT port your existing number to this sim card.

This is a brand new Boost sim card. PORTING YOUR EXISTING NUMBER TO BOOST:

You can request to port your number to Boost when activating the SIM. Before porting the number, contact your current service provider to confirm personal details. Make sure your Name and Date of Birth registered with the number are 100% correct, including spaces. Ask to update your details if anything is incorrect. Once confirmed, provide the exact details to Boost to initiate the porting. Some carriers will send you an SMS to authorize the porting request, so ensure the current SIM is inserted until the service is disconnected.

Telstra users need to contact Boost first before porting their number. We tend to ship out the item the one business day if the purchase is made Mon-Fri, by Australia Post.

Managed to have a chat with boost , bought the sim for $230 and they will happily refund $50 once i activate the sim.

      • What did you tell them?

  • Fml, just bought a Boost one this morning

  • +1

Just checking my understanding these should be good to activate right up until the sim expiry, does that mean you could activate and get the 170gb over 12 months sometime next year even though that's no longer offered by Boost then?

    • +1

Yes altho I think it's 160GB, the extra 10GB is a temporary (but on going) bonus.

    • +1

      Hi,
That is correct. The sim can be activated up until the expiry date even though Boost is discontinuing $230 Boost sim. However, the sim must be activated before 21st OCT 2024 to get the bonus data. If the sim is activated after 21st Oct 2024 then the 10 GB bonus data will not be provided and you will only get the 160GB standard.

  • Hey op, had to order 2x separate times as the coupon only applies once per order. Might want to check the website out.

  • Anyone know if buying one of these sims on a card with smartphone screen insurance covers the criteria of 'pay your monthly smartphone contract on your Platinum Card '

Something like an amex card https://www.americanexpress.com/en-au/credit-cards/membershi…

    • +1

smartphone insurance only works when you buy the physical phone outright or its on a monthly contract

Nothing to do with the sim plan you have

      • I've used the screen insurance when paying monthly for a sim plan without the phone.. Was hoping the sim plan counted as equivalent to the monthly contract in that case

        • how did you get that past?? cos the sim plan doesnt have any connection to the phone…

Everytime i have used it they asked Proof of Purchase of phone.

From my understanding is you have to pay the phone outright with the amex or monthly plan with amex, which makes sense.

          • @tkboi: Haha maybe just luck? I've done it before on the explorer card (Would have been 3 years ago though) I vaguely remember uploading a monthly statement for the plan - but it was sim only, no phone.

  • +1

Can I get these now and activate early next year?

    • Hi,
Yes you can but 160Gb data will be available by then.
      Thanks

  • Sept expiry probably still worth it for Nov renewal.

  • Does boost provide qr code for esim? Or just app download only?

    • Want to know as well

  • +1

Out of stock… Any more becoming available? Thanks

    • More stock please

  • Never see sales on the 365gb plans :(

  • The Boost 12 month/260 GB on sale still available $300 now $248 delivered.

    https://www.oztechbiz.com.au/product/boost-300-prepaid-sim-s…

Edit: Oops,…..also out of stock,…..that goes for all Boost/Telstra 6/12 month expiry sims unfortunately.

    • Back in stock.
      Thanks

      • Great, thanks and will order one now.

Do you mail out to a Post office locker box as I'm currently travelling around Cairns?

      • OOS now, any chance for restock?

  • 10 in stock for Telstra $320 260GB for $260.

  • Do Boost recharge vouchers ever go on sale?

    • They value new customers only.

  • Is Kogan ($120) or Catch Connect ($109) cheaper?

    • +2

You're comparing 3 different networks there bud. Yes, Vodafone is cheaper than Telstra.. not sure what you're asking.
      Kogan = Vodafone
      Catch Connect = Optus
      Boost = Full Telstra

  • Since boost is on full Telstra network, what is the benefit to getting the 260gb from Telstra as opposed to Boost??

    • +2

You get the pleasure of being able to visit their retail stores for a SIM swap and be harassed into buying their NBN instead :)

    • The price.

    • +1

It uses the full network, true but my experience with them is they are over congested and my mate next to me who's on Telstra network is using the internet without issues while I have no data coming in though we both have 4 bars. This is is Castle Towers shopping centre in Castle Hill NSW

    • +2

@eli8te I'm a Telstra customer and have used Boost on a spare phone. For $12 more, I bought the Telstra 260GB SIM kit.

There are many discussions online about Telstra versus Boost. They are supposed to be the same but why is Boost cheaper.

      • Although I'm in the metro area, I found Telstra to have better connection than Boost sometimes.
      • Some anecdotal reports that Telstra may connect better than Boost in remote areas.
      • May not apply to you but there are more countries listed that you can call using Telstra than Boost that are included in the prepaid SIM.
      • Telstra customers can join their loyalty program Telstra Plus rewards.

If you haven't used Telstra and are not concerned with the above, then save $12 and buy Boost.

    • Don't use its eSIM, my signal was reduced from 5G to 4G after switching:(

  • Out of stock

  • OOS again… @oztechtraders any chance of a restock?

    • Back in stock

  • The $230 Boost Sim just sold out again.

    • +1

Yeh I must have missed by a moment.

What type of delivery is offered? I’m travelling so need to plan ahead to collect from a post office at our next stop?

      • +1

In same position as in Far Noth Qld at the moment. The Boost 260GB still in stock as of 2 minutes ago,

actually cheaper per GB if needed. Hoping they can send out to a Australia Post Locker box and showing

up on my account in App using their free post option?

  • +3

    50 in stock now

    • Drippfeeding much?

Too late now as already ordered the 260 GB Sim using the free post.

Hope that will work to a locker box and me getting notified via my app account?

      • +1

Increased to 80 in stock now lol

Any chance it will drop as low like this from last year's deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/808896

    • Managed to have a chat with boost , bought the sim for $230. They will happily refund $50 once i activate the sim.

      • +1

        Why are they refunding 50?

        • i did tell them, other retailers are selling for $170ish and was looking if they had any sales/offer. They offered this to me. I have a reference number for this, so i should be fine for the refund.

  • my current boost sim expiring 28th of oct. can i activate this on or after 28th?

    • Hi,
The sim can be activated up until the expiry date. If the sim is activated after 21 Oct 2024 then you will only get 160 GB standard data.
      Kind regards
      Support team

  • If you are currently with boost do you still need to port out for 1 month before porting back in?

    • +1

That's one way to do it, but you can also jump on chat and claim stupidity. :) just churn a few reps yh till you find one who knows how to port boost to boost.

      I've done it before

  • I like this one more https://www.oztechbiz.com.au/product/boost-40-sim-start-kit-…

Is it still working or you just forgot to remove it from your website?

    • +1

      Inclusions have been updated.
You can buy if you still like this one.
      Thanks

      • I contacted Boost, they said this is an outdated promo that has no chance to work now. They have no pay as you go plans or anything not limited by particular period of time.

  • +3

Its such a shame Boost are scrapping this level of yearly plan.

Its either pay up or piss off, very sad to say the least. Would have thought they would still care about servicing "a range" of customers. Sad IMO~!

  • +1

OP, have the expiry dates for this batch changed? They were originally in Sep 2025 but now it shows Jan 2025?

    • We had limited stock of sep 2025 expiry.
When it was sold we had to change according to the new bactch 06-01-2025 expiry we recived from our supplier.
      Thanks

      • Do you have any more Sep 25 or later stock coming?

      • At 16:50 placed order for Sept’25 expiry.
        Would that be guaranteed?!
Didn’t purchase with Jan’25 expiry from competitor for cheaper.

        • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
          did order with exp. Sept’25
          but received today
          and exp is 2025-01-06
          DO REQUEST MONEY BACK!
          Your move OP, please!

      • How do we tell which one we will receive

  • Got mine in the post this morning.

    Exp 2025-09-08

    For 2x

    Thanks team

My Sim sorted till late 2026

    • bugger, mine's 2025-01-06. Hopefully i get get a late 2025

      • What OP would offer in compensation?
Did place an order for the SIM with Sept’25 expiry.

        • that expiry date is only for bonus data (10G)

  • Is the expiry date the date printed on the outside, at the back of the package, beside the SIM Serial? The one I have that arrived today says 2025-09-08, does it mean that I can activate it anytime before the expiry date?

    • Yes

    • The real products says Sep 2025?! I thought it would be Jan 2025. If so, I want to buy one indeed..

  • Hi, may I ask if you have any sim cards the expiry date of which is around April 2025? I don't really care about the bonus data, but on your website it says it will expire in Jan 2025, while I will still have like 4-5 months plan after that:(

  • -1

    Hi
Currently we have same expiry date as mentioned .
We might get longer expiry stock later on may be next month.
    Thanks

    • Thank you for your reply. Looking forward to the new stock:)

  • Hi @oztechtraders, quick Q about this: If i activate my 12 month sim by 21 Oct'24, given its a 12 month plan, will the sim still work i.e. remain active for 12 months or will the sim actually expire in Jan'25 and therefore I won't be able to use it i.e. make any calls etc.? Sorry I am new to this and confused.

    Thank you.

    • You'll get 12 months use if activated prior to the SIM expiry date. There is also 10GB bonus data if activated before the date in the ad, 21/10 in this case, for a total of 170GB, otherwise it's 160GB.

      • Great; thank you so much :)

  • "This coupon has expired."

    • Its all good now.
      Thanks.
