Herald Sun has definitely not been in PressReader. Neither has The Age which is still not there. Both can be found via other services though.

I have definitely been able to read the herald sun online from our library service in the past.

        • Yes, Newsbank recently added access to The Age & The Herald Sun. Its not as good as PressReader though as it's either massive images that are slow to load and then not easily zoomable OR text version which is meh.

          • +1

@neil: Newsbank is ok but pretty clunky but at least you can access papers that aren’t available elsewhere. Using it just isn’t an enjoyable experience.

Do they still have the hard copies in the fiction section?

    • -8

      I haven't seen a hard cover version.

      Are you a collector ?

      • +4

There's a difference between hard 'copies' and hard 'cover'.

Too busy trying to make someone look foolish rather than actually reading their full comment.

          What's the difference?

Here is a list of our physical newspapers - https://www.yourlibrary.com.au/newspapers/

      • FYI, the Visit Now link under the Herald Sun Online is currently pointing to The New York Times.

Democracy manifest guy passed away 😔

      • That's very sad to hear. He has been in the news lately.

And most unfortunately this is an online version so I can’t wipe my bottom with it!

    • +1

Can't be very good at influencing. Vic Labor's been in power a decade!

  • How is it free?

I have signed up and it says I need premium access to open the Herald Sun.

    I am in VIC.

    • Did you access via your library?

    • +2

You need to sign-in via library or group, not normal sign-in. It's confusing.

      • It’s not confusing at all except someone changed the link to pressreader direct.

    • +1

might not be for all libraries in Vic.
I'd been using Melbourne Library Service (CBD Library) and it was prompting for a "premium" upgrade.
Then logged in using my local Darebin Library's access and it works fine

  • Yes tried it says need premium access to open the Herald Sun

      Hi there,

When signing in, utilise the Library or Group option and ensure you select Your Library from the institution list.

Then, link your PressReader account with your library card. Instructions can be found here - https://care.pressreader.com/hc/en-us/articles/211272703-Lib…

This is great. The Hun has great sport, but everything is rubbish right propaganda I don't want to pay for.

  • Logged into Your Library and Pressreader. I can find Realm in Ringwood on Hotspot but can't add it

    • Same with my local library, its on the Hotspot but won't show up in the list when you try and link a library

  • +5

Even if they paid me to read it, I still wouldn't 😂

They will go into liquidation soon

    • Murdoch has successfully harnessed the inner British conservatism all Aussies have.
No way will News Corp ever go into liquidation. They have the entirety of Australia wrapped around their finger.

      • They just put foxtel up for sale 🤣

        • FCKING FINALLY!

  • +1

Whats the point of reading this online, I wouldn't have any bog paper if I did this…

  • +3

If you need peace in your life, stay away from media in all the forms as much as you can!

    • +1

      I concur.

    • What's your hobby? Many hobby magazines are available in PressReader app too. I like to read a lot of magazines. I can access PressReader app with free library membership in my iPad and my Windows laptop too. Reading a lot of free magazines, etc. can cover the cost of my iPad :)

A lot of magazines are available to read for free through free library membership. Categories such as animals & pets, art, automotive, aviation, boating, business & current affairs, children & tweens, computers & technology, crafts & hobbies, design, entertainment & tv, fashion, food & drinks, for men, for women, gaming, health & fitness, history & science, home & garden, music, outdoors, photography, sports, travel & culture, etc.

After signing up it says "Complimentary access: 29 days 23 hours left". Does that mean I will have to re-signup after 30 days?
