The OP one is also delivered for free at $126…

      • Thanks it wasn't immediately apparent delivery was free. I see the post has been updated to reflect this.
Amazon is generally pretty good with post sales support so still an option for people to consider

My experience with breville and their sub-brand recommend you not to buy microwave from them, stick with the Japanese or LG.

    • I replaced my 4 year old breville microwave in 2019 with the same model and I'm quite happy with the brand. never had any problems

    • My LG just stopped working after 2 and a half years (2 year warranty). Just wouldn't heat anything. Has put me off LG microwaves for a good bit, bought a Samsung 40l to replace it.

This is a Countertop microwaves and should not be kept in cabients.

    • Where does it say that?

    • What happens if one keeps it in a cabinet?

      All magnetrons need air flow…period.

      No exception. Physics dictates it.

      • What happens if the airflow isn’t sufficient?
How much is sufficient (eg cabinet door open during operation)?

        • To omit micro waves, the thing needs to heat up forcing electrons to jump across (terrible summary).

Look up a magnetron, they are 99% all the same. You will see the heat sink fins and fan.

With adequate cooling, ventilation (excess steam can cause arcing if it gets inside the antenna), and cleaning of the wave guide (the little shiny cardboard bit), a microwave will literally last forever.

Without it, the thing will heat up, lose shape, lose vacuum, crack a magnet, arc from the antenna to fat/ moisture etc.

So really, open is best, with cleaning and can possibly last forever.

As you remove ventilation, you shorten the life.
