@Coffee-King some ideas for you to properly run a coffee business than your Trump coffee spams

I’ve bought with Lime Blue Coffee twice already and beans are roasted near your selected dispatch date

Morning @BargainsGrabber thank you so much for your recent orders with us, they are truly appreciated!

Terrific to know we're in your good books, I promise we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

Someone hasn't had their frozen coffee beans this morning!

      • +1

        I hadn't had any at all ☹️

    • +1

Vacuum sealing and freezing roasted beans, then thawing them sealed until at room temp, is most definitely a close second to fresh roasted. Definitely worth the stocking up on a half priced discount offer

      • I agree, the karen is obviously doing something wrong. Then again they are having problems working out what 48 business hours means as well so I am not too surprised.

        • What's the male version of the name Karen? Is it still just Karen?

      • Close second? So you agree it is at least a bit compromising? That's the only point I was (admittedly rudely) making.

I was/am interested in stocking up, that's why I asked about cupping notes, but being rude I didn't deserve an answer, I guess!

        • Hey @Tunblor no stress, always better to vent than bottle it up!

We always put scores and cupping notes on our product pages. Simply go to our site and click on the coffee/s that have caught your attention. If you're set on one of the two featured in this deal; in the post there's direct hyperlinks to each of the coffee to save you multiple clicks to find the answers you need :)

      • I don't think it's close tbh.
I've tried everything including using my vacuum chamber to expel all air from the bag before freezing.
I mean, if its less than a month I'd say don't freeze at all. when it's closer to two months or more either method seemed similarly 'stale'

        • Well I've had success freezing mine and I guess I disagree

        • Vacuum sealed close as possible after roasting and then freezing has worked for me and others. I went to a cupping last year that was all frozen coffee, like a "from the vault" event. All tasted amazing and I think the oldest one had been roasted more than 5 years before. Couldn't tell it was old.

Weird question maybe, but are you storing the vacuum sealed beans in the door or at the back of the freezer? It could be the temperature changes when you open the door that are contributing to them not staying fresh.

Do you no longer offer Colombia Cauca? I tried other types and didn't quite like them as much as the Colombia Cauca blend

    • +2

Fantastic to know you enjoy our Colombia Cauca Single Origin so much!!!

I promise we'll have it available again in the future. Unfortunately due to some shipping delays from Colombia we've been out of stock of our Cauca for about a month now. As soon as we have it back in stock we'll announce it via our email newsletter :)

      • I am eagerly waiting Cauca too

        • +1

          Duly noted :)

p.s. me too, it's one of my favourites. That said they're all my favourites in some way, shape or form :)

  • how does the kenya SO beans compare to moments to memory or brazil SO in terms of flavour for milk based?

    • +1

Terrific question, always better to ask than wonder!

Although equally delicious this Kenyan is notably different in flavour to the one's you've tried from us previously.

Kenyans are known for their higher relative brightness/acidity kick and vanilla flavour notes. This Kenyan also has some wonderful fruit notes on the finish, primarily apple notes. There's still those familiar milk chocolate and sweet biscuit notes too and it does work quite well with milk as well as black coffees. If you're really keen on getting more chocolate notes in line with what you've tried from us, then I'd highly recommend our Swiss Water Process Decaf, it's got strong chocolate and sweet malt notes. From a flavour analogy perspective (not sure if this will help or confuse the matter haha) if Moments to Memories was reminiscent of a vanilla bean choc top ice cream and our Brazil of a hot chocolate. The our Kenya would be reminiscent of a lemon vanilla bean cheesecake and our SWP Decaf a sweet malt chocolate thick shake :)

      • thanks for the explanation mate..
        appreciate your usual responsiveness

        • :)

      • Hearing this description I now regret the Sao Paulo SO I opened yesterday… Should have waited for this!

        • Our Brazil SO is loved by many, so although fairly different to our Kenya SO, I've got my fingers crossed you still love it!

p.s. as you're all stocked up for now, you can always reserve this Kenya SO for a future dispatch, up until the end of October :)

Grinder fixed yet?.. bean a few months now

  • +2

@LimeBlueCoffee do you have an ETA on when ground beans will be available? My stock is starting to run low 😢

    • +2

If you do filter, it might be worth grabbing a manual grinder. These days you can get decent ones for not that much money and the difference between pre-ground coffee after a week vs grinding 1 week old beans is noticeable IMO. The Kingrinder P1 can be had for about $130 on Amazon and was positively reviewed by James Hoffmann, who is a reliable source of coffee info. Totally understand if that's still a bit exxy, or the idea of grinding by hand is not appealing, though.

    • +1

Another suggestion for a grinder would be the Timemore ones, which tend to be a bit cheaper for the same quality. I have a Chestnut C3 that serves me well at work/when travelling.

The "danger" is that you like the fresh ground coffee but not the grinding and you end up buying an electric grinder or two…

Anyway, there have been only a few changes I've made over 10+ years of making coffee that have made a massive improvement and freshly grinding my beans was one of them.

  • Probably would've waited for this instead of getting the Costa Rica Tarrazu, because the Kenya is more my style (fruitier/acidic). Glad I didn't, though! Having my first cup of the Costa Rica as I write this and I'm getting more fruit than I would've expected (brewed in a Hario Switch with a slightly modified version of Tetsu Kasuya's hybrid recipe).

The question now is do I load up the freezer and get the Kenya as well, considering 1 kg lasts me about 3 months, or do I wait and see if you put out a bigger fruit bomb later? :P

    • +1

Hey @Diji wonderful to know our Costa Rica has pleasantly surprised you, glad you took a shot and gave it a go!

That's the million dollar question, "do I lock this in as I know I'll love it or do I wait incase what's around the corner I may love more, but if I wait will I regret missing out on this deal….decisions decisions, what to do?" haha Just food (coffee) for though, you could place a smaller order for 500g of this Kenya and make the most of our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch to hedge your bets by reserving a dispatch spot on the 31st of October, this way you won't miss out but if something else catches your attention you won't need to buy a second freezer to keep all your coffee fresh :)

      • Oh, I totally forgot that you can place the order that far ahead and still keep the special price. Dunno how, it's like my 12th order or something lol, thanks for the reminder.

        • +1

haha no stress, glad my response was helpful :)

  • How would this compare to my recent purchase of Peru Chanchamayo Single Origin which I am really enjoying. It is aging quite well. Very different taste?

    • +1

Absolute music to my ears to know how much you're enjoying our Peru Chanchamayo Single Origin!!!

Both coffee have sweet earthy/malt notes, the Peru more so than the Kenya. However, overall the two are notably different. If you enjoy a nice acidity kick and a coffee that have a clean, crispy fruity finish similar to an apple to go all out and get stuck into this delicious Kenya. However, if the brightness/acidity kick of our Peru is you may acidity enjoyment then it might be best to try our SWP Decaf which has strong sweet milk chocolate malt notes and a slightly lower acidity than our Peru :)

Yet another Ralph Wiggum anthropomorphisation for my wallet.
    "Haha, I'm in danger."

  • Hi @LimeBlueCoffee,

Does the Kenyan suit black coffees? I mainly drink black and the tasting notes always differ to my taste buds.

I tried the SO Sau Paulo last time and the decaf. Both great.

    Best decaf I have had.

    Cheers

    • +1

Morning @Robot16 never hurts to double check first!

I find our Kenya Single Origin to be absolutely wonderful black. It is notably different to our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin and Swiss Water Process Decaf. It's got a higher acidity kick, strong vanilla bean and fruity notes. If you enjoy the flavour, sweetness and acidity level of a lemon vanilla bean cheesecake then I'm confident you'll love our Kenya Single Origin.

Thank you so much for your recent order and that wonderful compliment, truly appreciated :)

      • Legend. I will give it a crack

        • Fantastic to hear :)

  • Hi @LimeBlueCoffee
Do you have a recommended espresso brew ratio for the Kenya single origin and moments of memory?

    • +1

      Hey @channy we sure do!

We always put our recommended brew guides on our bags, so when your delivery arrives you'll have all the answers you need nice and handy. Thank you so much for the fantastic combo order :)
