CR is Australia's version of Zara and H&M, fast fashion but more subtle.

Give it probably 10 days and actual sale will be in, then 20% extra, leading upto clearance on 30%

Difference in quality is worlds apart, imo

      • 100% never said that, still doesn't change the fact CR rotates their fashion every 2 months.

        • I had $65 of rewards i had to redeem the other week, and found their range to be extremely limited.
Ended up buying hand towels and ceramicware instead.

Country Road of course has seasons which means they introduce every few months. But there is a fairly well defined Country Road aesthetic. I think they're closer to an Australian dupe of Polo Ralph Lauren

    • Wouldn't say that.

CR is very conservative in its styling.
Zara & H&M on the otherhand change it up every few months.

Agree. I quite like the CR mens catalogue, not too many stores quite like it (unless you wade through Myer)
I am quite upset that CR succumbed to the ESG marketing and started using African models like everyone else, it really ruins the WASPy brand image they built up.
There was also a nonsensical aboriginal collaboration that they were emailing to people not signed up for marketing emails, which I believe was illegal.
I hope they can focus on their key value proposition and provide quality, stylish and good value clothing. Otherwise, I may just pay a little more and go to Lululemon

Good deal if you like supporting a company that condones sexual harassment in the workplace. No thanks

    • +2

Google country road ceo if you’re not aware.

    • Don’t get me started on people who buy Chinese-made goods therefore supporting the CCP and in turn genocide.

    • womp womp

    • Mate they don't condone sexual harassment.. when the chief officer flies over from Sth Africa to sort the debacle. That's not condoning.

      • -1

Lol ok John. You reckon he would have flown over if it wasn’t all through the papers as a major scandal? Total PR.

      • +1

They even openly admitted bow badly wrong they got it. I’m sure headco in SA doesn’t condone it but the whole thing was ugly. It took a long long time for them to get involved. Whole thing stinks unfortunately.

        • I'm not disagreeing with you that the situation sucks. But they didn't condone it, so what you said wasn't true.. you even said it yourself they openly admitted to how bad it was.

    • Scandals are everywhere, public transport, hospitals, councils, Unions, Telecom/Utilities.

If we start to boycott, may end up in a funny situation. For own good or worse.

Having said, go with what you know and Principals of life. I didn't knew personally until you mentioned about CR CEO incident.

original Country Road logo embroidered at the chest

    I HATE these lol

    • I hate anything with a logo that is too big. I miss the old Country Road with fewer logos on their clothing. I don't mind the small CR logo but generally try to avoid clothing with any branding.

      • Yeah I agree. I bought a CR oxford shirt recently with a small CR logo on the breast pocket, it's hardly noticeable at all

  • oooh good time to pick up some chinos. thanks for sharing op!

  • I will wait for a deal like this to happen (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/823346) before pulling the trigger.
