It seems to be getting to a point where kia is going to need to bring out a new sub brand that's more budget friendly.

The Nio range look good in the videos.
Nio ES8 looks great, has real wagon proportions across the glass and overhangs.

i don't think true OzB get an electric car, which has no viable ROI unless you drive a lot with free electricity
Because a gas car has higher ROI (excluding high yield Mercedes)
It costs a lot to retrofit LPG tanks to ICE vehicles so yes, the ROI is much longer.
OzB should be buying cars valued the same as a 10yo camry. When EVs get to that age price bracket they will become the new camry.

can you explain it ? I really want to learn about that. I have OVO free 3 hours plan and already load shifted to free 3 hours like heat pump, RCAC, dishwashing, washing machine etc.
I'll try and make it as simple and quick as possible.
Get the list price of an EV, minus the GST, then minus your tax bracket %, add a few grand for interest - that's going to be the actual cost of the car.
For example, a $70k EV is $63k after GST is removed, then someone making $100k would deduct 30% off that, so that's $44.1k - then add a few grand for interest.
All costs associated with the car also cost the actual cost minus GST minus your tax bracket %.
With EV charging, the novated lease company takes out $0.042c per km you plan on driving, and gives that back to you without any tax applied to it - so I get around $630 back per annum based on 15,000km. So far I have done 3,500km and have spent roughly $4 on charging outside of the free OVO period.
Ultimately, I calculated that a brand new $70k EV was cheaper over a 5 year period than a +100k-km / $30,000 / 2016 SUV like a Hyundai Tucson.
Couldn't think of anything worse to do with my time so it's a no from me.
