  • I tried to price match a TGG once before and they wouldn't do it.

    • +1

I just did and they matched it

      • Me too, last week

      • Must've got a dodgy sales person. it was only like $30 anyway.

  • Currently out of stock on Amazon

    • still showing in stock for me

Have had one of these for more than 15 years. The suction is so strong it has to be set at a lower setting to move the head. No issues at all.

    • +2

Agreed they are fantastic, and so damn quiet. I run it on the 2 or 3rd lowest suction otherwise it sticks to the floor. On these settings, I can have a conversation over it. Imagine trying that with Dyson - it's screams so loud you have to yell.

    • +1

They've changed the motor in them to 890w since you bought yours. They're very average now.

      • Ah. I've got an older 10y+ model. Its a beast but the turbo head went missing
Are the higher wattage models still available from retailers?

fyi - Miele Classic C1 PowerLine Bagged Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner with 900W Suction Power and AirClean Filter, Lightweight Design, in Graphite Grey was $249 - Jan 2024

so this model the C3 - lees power more expensive……

    • yes, a different vacuum with different accessories is a different price. Who woulda thought?
I have the latest c3 and it is plenty powerful.

      • +1

who woulda thought that a turbo brush and mini turbo brush with less suction would cost $320 more—- LOL makes complete sense…

Miele Classic C1 Powerline Vacuum Cleaner 10797640 - is 900w

i suppose reading isnt your strongest point..

you should read all the comments below regarding power that your talking about it's rubbish

      Isn’t the classic only 550w?

    • -1

Classic is only 550W lol, what are you smoking? 😂

      • and will you share?

      • Miele Classic C1 Powerline Vacuum Cleaner 10797640 - 900w im not smoking anything

        • i think that was the pre Eu regulations model which is since discontinued when the C3 was 2000W. Now the C1 is 550W and the C3 is 890W

  • $576 if you have access to the good guys commercial

  • Amazing vacuum cleaners.

Just a quick note to anyone buying one of these. I bought one about 6 years ago.. it was an awesome 2000w machine with a good head. My cord reel died, so i purchased what I thought was the same unit but theyve now changed to an 890w motor and its also packaged with a basic filter rather than a charcoal canister filter that they used to come with.
The new one is nowhere near as good as the old one. Still a good unit but the downgrade feels like moving to a kmart powered machine.

I've since replaced more cord reel to get more life out of the old one

    • Huh - even the 'powerline' one seems to be 890W. I thought the powerline name meant higher/full wattage? Bummer.

      • I think EU regulations mean that 890W is now the powerful one :(

    • I have an old Miele Cat & Dog 5000 that the C3 replaced and it says 2200watts. It is a great vacuum cleaner, I just wish it had a proper motorised head similar to the new dyson stick vacs, then it would absolutely slaughter in all cleaning tasks.

I do wonder though if the 2200watts truly equals good strong sucking power or it was all just a marketing push of inefficiencies where big number = better.

      • I can hear and feel the difference very notably from 2000w to the new 890w. Havent had any issue with the Airflow style powerheads.

    • It's an energy efficiency limitation imposed by the EU, and there's really no point for them having a different motor for our region when we're such a small market.

The 890w is well designed and still has more than enough suction to drive the turbo nozzle and clean better than most alternatives (including Dyson). Even the Sebos only have a 1200w motor and they're some of the best domestic use vacs on the market.

      • I found that out after researching after I was dissapointed with the power. I would say it's enough but not more than enough compared to the old 2000w. My dissapointment mainly came from believing I was purchasing the exact same thing that I had considering they advertise it and make it look the exact same. It's my own fault for not thoroughly reading the listing or testing it out first. I havent used anything other models for a few years so I can't compare with what's in the market atm.

Hold up… I have to buy bags for this? Why would one want it over a dyson?

Read up on some old deals, apparently does a better cleaning job….. but I really really don't want to be dealing with buying vacuum bags all the time and replacing etc.

    • +4

Bagged vacuums are always more hygienic and longer lasting, and this will clean better than any Dyson stick vac on the market.

Box of bags will last most people about a year, so it's not exactly a big investment.

      • There's a pretty wide gap between a Dyson stick vacuum and a full size, full power bagless vacuum

    • Bagged cleaners have worked better for me. Suction power has stayed strong and the dust and hair etc doesnt get caught in places. Apart from the bag change theres generally not much maintenance.

    • +1

I've got one of these and a shark stick vac. I use the shark for a quick daily clean (kids are gross) and then get the Miele out once a week for a good clean or to do the car. Even with two kids and a dog, I might have used maybe 3 bags in a year.. Up until recently, I've always had Dyson vacuums and I felt like I was going back into the dark ages having to buy bags, but the recent offering from Dyson for a barrel vacuum wasn't great but I'm amazed at how much this thing sucks!

    • I much prefer bags to bagless. They don't fill up that fast. Bagless is so damn messy.

  • I have this. Very good if you have dogs or partner(s) that she'd hair all over the place

  • Anyone have links to spare bags etc at good prices?

    • Ebay often has them cheap. Also check Marketplace, people on there selling ones they don't need pretty cheap.

  • I have a 4 year old one, its a 2000W and its a BEAST like everyone has said before. can rip out an old carpet if you wanted to and would make stick vacs look and perform like toys in comparison.

Sad the "Ecoline" has the wattage lowered to 890W not sure if the suction is same anymore.
