They're deadly good for you
Mmm not bad. Nice hot mustard, good bread, mushroom a bit toxic , turkey's a little dry… The turkey's a little dry?! Oh, foul the cursed thing! What demon from the depths of hell created thee?
I understood that reference
Had to look it up but like the adaptation.
Do they also have food dehydrators on sale? Asking for a friend.
And an innocent local Asian grocer that can be blamed.
Aldi-La
Check your local tip, apparently lots there..
Ozbargainers check the tip first anyway.

1UP or 3 down?
Oh damn
I haven’t even had coffee yet; it’s gonna be a great day aha
Is there an Aldi at Leongatha? Asking for a friend.
There is one, indeed.
..asking for an ex-husband.
For people who have had these before, do you actually get at least $18 worth of mushrooms out of one of these kits?
Yes, would be pointless if you didn't.
Sometimes it’s more about the journey than the destination.
Maybe the real mushrooms were the friends we made along the way.
Eh, as a fun activity it has value beyond the mushrooms but I also wonder if people who have used these manage to use all the mushrooms given you are likely to get lots of mushrooms in large batches reasonably close together.
Froze excess recently. First time but they were fine
mushrooms tend to last quite a while.
It's probably not, I've done it a few times. But trouble is you never have enough of a single pick for the whole family meal. But I never buy them at full price.
The best answer is “maybe”
Most kits will grow 1.5-2kg of mushrooms, so about $15-24 worth, depending on sale price. SOME kits will regrow a few times if maintained, but not all and there’s no guarantee of it
They grew quite a lot of mushrooms at Clarkson's Farm. Might need to be careful with all the potential spores though.
It can depend. I’ve had kits where I gut a lot of mushrooms and ones tagged don’t take well.
Don't forget they come with about a kilo of top-notch potting mix, once the mushies are done.
I tried this kit last time… it was a pile of s**t.
Quite literally.
Clarkson's Farm
Good kit, can confirm i made a beef wellington last time that didn't hurt anybody
Then you didn't do it right
If that was true, it would have been all over the news.
Just avoid the unnamed Asian grocers /s
If by "these" you mean "mushrooms" then yes, but they weren't from an Aldi grow at home kit.
Professionally grown mushrooms, and kits like these, are fine.
Plus, they're different species to the ones she used - those were deathcaps, which look like Straw Mushrooms. Since none of the ones Aldi is selling look like deadly mushrooms, there's zero chance you're getting anything dangerous.
I have a small yard…Do these kits take up mush room?
Take your upvote and get out
Oh come on, be a fun guy
I tip my cap to you for these puns
Username familiar. Are you Mario's mate?
Last time I tried one of these kits (I think it was from bunnings) i followed the instructions and put it in a dark place, which happened to be our second bathroom that we never used.
I came back a few days later and as soon as I opened the door I knew something was wrong. There were thousands and thousands of flying insects that had hatched from the soil or something.
That was fun cleaning it up.
Were the thousands and thousands of flying insects the giveaway that something was wrong?
I got one a few years ago, didn't grow a single mushroom.
Did you grow two?
All mushroom kits will produce a flush of mushrooms, maybe a tiny second one, and that's it. They're nice to use and watch them grow, but buying mushrooms from the shop is cheaper.
How much are button mushrooms per kg at the shops though?
Stamets says button mushrooms may not be as healthy for you as once thought.
I tried a few mushroom kit but I never get good results, ie only a few not so good mushroom and that's it. Has any one had really good experience?
I understood that reference
