Do 3x3 uses size 6 balls? :o. I was gonna pull the trigger but it's not size 7 :S Good find though OP
Yes Size 6 is the official size for 3x3. Unfortunate decision IMHO. Ice Cube's Big 3 league uses Size 7 balls in comparison.
Yes, specially wieghted size 6

$7.00 for Bunnings one
lol, that rubber ball is trash.
this one is composite leather.
Size 6 only?
crap i bought to fast, wish it was size 7. this is a female ball.
It's a 3x3 ball
yup, and it's a girl size basketball. the men and women both use the same size ball, size girl.
weird this is its a heavy ball as it is the same weight as a size 7, but in a compact size girls ball.
probably to help with easier scoring to make faster game play.
Damn - just bought it yesterday at $19.99
Received mine today and I'll be returning it as it's blue and yellow rubber, not composite leather.
how do you know it's not composite leather?
I've used both rubber and composite leather over many years. It's definitely rubber. Confirmed also on the Spalding website as I wanted to be wrong https://www.spalding.com.au/tf-33-rubber.html.
The description says composite leather, but the specifications confirm it's rubber.
Interestingly the actual Red Bull version, does specify that it's composite leather.
Only "Red Bull"version is composite leather, but the one Catch sending out is the normal version TF33 in rubber.
Can't believe Catch is playing this to cheat customer.
Made from composite leather. Designed for indoor and outdoor 3x3 games, this TF-33 offers the grip and control needed to excel in the 3x3 game space
@ilove: Did you also purchase this basketball from Catch and receive the correct “red bull” one?
Same here, received the cheap rubber ball today.
Apparently Catch is cheating on this product by advertising a leather cover ball but shipping a cheap one.
Have contacted Catch asking for exchange/return.
Catch have accepted my refund request. What a waste of time!
Thanks for the update, my refund request still in processing.
Just wondering will Catch cover the shipment cost to return the incorrect ball?
I think they should cover for it, apparently it's their fault in cheating the customer.
@speedfan: I didnt pay for the return. I have OnePass, but that shouldn't make a difference as they shipped the wrong product.
The Spalding FIBA approved composite leather basketball has good quality and finish. Very professionally made. Unlike the Molten 3x3 FIBA basketball, which has the worst made quality finish of all four brands. Both composite leather and rubber 3x3 basketballs from Molten are made the worst compared to other basketball brands. So unless you truly love the Molten 12 panel design, I would rather buy from Decathlon Tarmak BT500 3x3, Wilson 3x3 or Spalding 3x3.
What makes the Spalding different from the other 3x3 ball brands, is the dribble and bounce of the ball. The ball has this gravity heavy pulling towards the ground type of bounce. Meaning, you need to really add and constantly actively work the ball, to keep the ball moving. Otherwise, the Spalding 3x3 will just ' drop' flat to the ground. This disadvantage of the ball is actually good for low dribbling skills and the re-bouncing off the ring seems less hard. The ball is very stable and good for shooting 3 pointers too. The special panel design lies good in the hand. The Spalding FIBA 3x3 has an ultra thin layer of coating though, that need to break in. But the grip is good. The yellow and blue composite leather feel different. The yellow material has more grip than the blue material, the blue material is smoother. This doesn't affect playing and overall grip.
