I've seen this posted as a deal. Done the math, this is not a deal when comparing to other brands.
comes to $0.083 per meter (for S&S) which is a great price for this particular branded item, although not so much for paper towel in general.
For reference, ALDI's Confidence 3ply which is great quality = $0.074 per meter, all day, everyday. (which translates to $11.99 for equal volume and subjectively equivalent or better quality)
VIVA Paper Towel Select-A-Size Paper Towel 12 Count (4x3 Rolls) $15 ($13.50 S&S) + Delivery ($0 Prime/ $59 Spend) @ Amazon AU

of course if you only buy VIVA, then yes its a good deal. just not the best considering bang for buck.
CHOICE..
to inform others that post it thinking its a deal
People post it as a deal because of its brand, and the fact it’s select a size if you don’t want to use the whole sheet (I prefer that Viva has this feature as I’m currently using Handee and feels like I’m using more rolls)
And yes of course there are cheaper alternatives like Aldi that you mentioned but other factors come into play like is it absorbent etc
indeed, if it help reduce unnecessary wastage, it could be economically viable, but regarding quality, I cannot fault the aldi brand, it has been fantastic. It wasnt till I started using other brand did i realise how good it is.
I’m currently using Handee and feels like I’m using more rolls
Quit complaining, ours was only $1.92 for 12 rolls ;)
I’ve already gone through those 12 rolls in less than 2 months - for a single dude staying in the house 😅
@BargainsGrabber: I've only used 1 roll lol. Seems like no one uses paper towels in my house. Gave my relatives some and still got like 107 rolls left.
@I Smell Pennies: Ship us some ;)
VIVA has best texture and doesnt disintegrate after 10 seconds in water like the rest. Best paper towel and worth the little premium.
Cheers, got one. Wife prefers the select-a-size and cheaper than the last time I got it. Happy wife, happy life.
The real savings are realised after-the-fact
Are these the same length as the regular ones?
15cm x 21cm
These are half the size of regular sheets, so I find they last so much longer. A full size square sheet isn't always necessary. Currently a four pack is on special at Cole's for $5.
=0.092 per meter
Looks back in stock.
thanks
For folks into select-a-size, have you tried using regular paper towel and just tearing a strip off lengthwise if you need less than a square? Works for me
Yes but it's a lot easier with smaller sized perforations and you don't accidentally tear it into strange shapes. Also encourages others in the house to use less.
Handee > Viva. Fight me.
in comes Confidence out of left field with a round house
Problem is it sounds like an incontinence product, although that would certainly be good for absorbency!
how does this compare to
costco kirkland rolls? my go toif you could tell us the price, sheet size, sheet count, and roll quantity of the Costco brand, it would be greatly appreciated. 😊
$49.99
12 rolls.
160 sheets per roll.
27.9cm x 17.7cm.I think they’ve got the “half sheet cut” too.
From what I recall the rolls were a bit taller than standardGonna have to try the Aldi ones, can’t seem to find anything on sale at the moment.
I’m at Aldi now, I assume the double length extra thick at $5.29 is the way to go?
if it's not a deal then why do you post it?
