My dentist said they just don’t seem to work
Can this be trusted? if your dentist told you they work well would you need to get your teeth cleaned by them? most likely not, I've always wondered if dental stuff works as good as the packaging says.
I'd say its down to the users technique and frequency of use, and also how crowded your teeth are. These water jet flossers may not work very well if your teeth are crowding, meaning the gaps between them are very tight or non existent.
My dentist (periodontics) told me to use Waterpik? So who is correct lol
I can only trust when 10 dentists have been asked and 9 of them agree to something.
They are very expensive, I stick to one 😉
My dentist effectively says the opposite. Complained about my bleeding gums during every clean, I decided to run a the waterpik every night and since then, the last two cleanings he has been a lot and I mean a lot happier.
Personally, I think that's could just as easily be that I effectively conditioned the gums of excess blood by maybe making them bleed during the water flossing (I have occasionally tasted iron in the mouth after) but hey, all I know is I'm coming off as doing a good job.
They also have ORAL B AQUACARE 4 PORTABLE IRRIGATOR CORDLESS WATER FLOSSER + CHARGING STATION $64.99 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285976773509a could be a $125 saving?
True Ozbargainer would use a garden hose set to "jet"
I’ve been using a Waterpik for years and although fun to use, have started to develop gum issues. My dentist said they just don’t seem to work, so I’ve switched to those manual pikster brushes.
