  • shame no wifi model :(

This is the normal price, except you might get free delivery with Aliexpress for $15 spend.

    • Normal price where?

      • -4

The price itself is cheap but shipping kills it and Aliexpres will do cheaper for $15 spend.

        • For unbranded maybe but not for official.

Does that matter? Not in the slightest.

@boomramada: This is OzBargain not USBargain

            • @Serapis: Tell the Wizard and Dorothy.

            • -5

@Serapis: Haha I knew its a unhappy comment 😅 but how else aussie businesses can compete with cheap Chinese delivery 💁‍♂️

              • @boomramada: As a store owner I agree but as a consumer I don't. People should be supporting local businesses regardless of which price is better. Supporting local businesses pays for people's employment and betters the economy while making purchases overseas removes that for us Australians.

                • -1

@Zaitronics: Not just that, we are indirectly paying for the cheap Chinese deliveries through our postal services/taxes too, hence they go up in prices. My comment is for shipping kills it comment above, here we all love cheap things.

@Zaitronics: Oh, did you manufacture the board? Maybe the chip? If not, where was it made?

                  • -3

@Ademos: The boards are manufactured overseas but the profit and other expenses stay in the country.

                    • +2

@Zaitronics: Your profits. You don't even have local pickup, and I don't need a midddle man in 2024.

We're a service economy, because we manufacture f all. Sell me on service. Not "but I stuck my hand out".

                • +3

@Zaitronics: This is Ozbargains! If price is better elsewhere thats where I buy. You probably get your products from overseas and that money goes overseas then. As a customer if I can get it from overseas and cut out the middle man why not!

                  • @Testingatools: Ethan from Zaitronics, says its unfair to compare prices from overseas sellers, and wants to blind us from Aliexpress, so that he can buy from Aliexpress and other sellers, add a markup, saying that he is providing a convenience service to Australians.

He is a convenience electronics store. Buying from him means that you are paying a premium and supporting a Chinese seller as well as making sure that a middle man profit is generated and helps the Australian economy.

You can feel good about supporting a local business, because paying the middle man premium price, you are supporting employment in Australia as well as employment of the overseas seller, while making purchases direct from overseas sellers denies Zaitronics from making a profit.

It should also be noted that Zaitronics, not only has higher prices, but also does not have service to offset the higher prices. I sent him this message "Do you have plans for having Risc-V, Pine64 or Luckfox in your store?" and got blocked.

                    • @Crownanchor: I blocked you because you threatened me with my own address.

                      • -1

@Zaitronics: No i didnt. I was respectful of your address and did not disclose your address anywhere.

You blocked me after i enquired about other boards.

It is very unprofessional and was not very bright of you. You have lost a customer and a potential large order/s

Also, you should be aware, i do support Australian sellers, and after you blocked me, ordered $300 total from core electronics and platima

@Zaitronics: How about you try to answer this question: Will you be selling Pico 2?

                        • -1

@Crownanchor: No unfortunately only Core Electronics are currently the only ones. Hopefully I will be able to in the next couple of weeks though.

I do however have a couple other Raspberry Pi boards arriving soon such as RP 4 & 5, Zero W, Zero 2W and Pico W. They should be for a good price.

Raspberry Pi as a company is hard to support now. I wouldn’t give them my $$.

      Care to share the gossip?

      • +2

        Didn't they sell out?

        • +4

They became a public company in June, so now they are profit focused. I'm not complaining about that, just expanding on what you said.

    • they used to have more licensees to manufacture PI3 even in china and so supply was always good … the SOC is customer, they should loosen up who can manufacture so supply is better , they will still make money on the SOC.

If can wait, better value to get a ESP8266 which has wifi, and Bluetooth and half the size from Aliexpress. $3

    • +2

      2024
      ESP8266

    • +3

Half the size and half the io, and if someone was considering this then wifi and Bluetooth obviously aren't requirements for them.

I've got a bunch of ESPs, great little chips, but can you tell me how to attach one to a bluescsi2?

    • Are there any ESP32 keyboards or wide support for QMK/VIA on them?

  • Good price for itself if you buy multiple ones. It has 2MB flash on it. and its Micro USB.

You can find 4MB flash model with Type c on ebay for $6.5

This is obvious the the target market, but for those who aren't: If you want to run a media server or something you probably want a more powerful Rasberry Pi. Some Pi's have 8GB, plenty of Ram to run even a full desktop environment. This one has 264Kb of RAM or 0.000264GB. It is there to bridge the gap between when you need a couple of transistors and what a normal person would consider a full computer.

  • Is the $3 shipper per unit or per package - i.e.. is 69x units 6($3.7+$3) or is it (6$3.7) + $3

    • It's $3 shipping per package for orders under $20. Over $20 it is $8.5 but comes with tracking
