Just tested it on my phone and it was 100% accurate in scanning my room.
Note: to scan objects or rooms you need a Pro model from iPhone 12 Pro.
Select the free lifetime subscription in the app when you first open it.

Yes
It is likely the app is always free but has paid in-app subscriptions, that are being offered for free for a limited period.
The app’s lifetime, not yours.
Not a single review yet. Not sure I’d trust it enough to use it to scan my private and confidential documents.
This is the exact attitude that is leading towards mass data theft and a lack of privacy. Well done for playing your part.
Yeah it is free because they need reviews.. duh
Each to their own I guess. Afaik we mostly use these apps to scan home loan or credit card application forms, driver license, medicare card, passports etc. to submit them to relevant authorities. I don’t think anyone of us want these info to fall into the wrong hand given how prevalent scams have become nowadays.
I know the chance is small and I would expect Apple to vest the developer. But there have been many cases of fraud apps before, and I’d rather be safe than sorry. There are many reputable scanners apps out there including Apple Notes anyway.
You can just use the built in photo's app for all that. Unless of course you are one of the privileged few in this world who have a 3d homeloan or credit card and need a 3D copy of that.
The scanner apps, including Apple Notes app, come handy though, as they can auto edit and align the photo for you to make it more readable and look like a scan from a real physical scanner.
Thanks OP.
nothing special for document scanning, but the room scanning feature is pretty cool
Thanks OP!
No you can be a normal person with a phone, too.
iOS 17 has been out for nearly a year. And it's free
Not all phones can get iOS17. There are demanding games out there supporting iOS12 and up
All of the phones that support LiDAR for room scanning can get ios17.
Document scanning has been available in the notes and files apps for years, so don’t need this app for that.
My jailbreak >>>>>>>>>>>IOS 17
Not really the deal's problem then is it?
@jbird84: Its still stupid that they require ios 17 they could have easily make it work on older IOSs
@DrScavenger: You should let them know. It's probably just a drop down selector for them to choose which iOS to support. lol
I agree, I have the iPad Pro 12.9 M2, and I can run linux on it, full speed with virtualisation. Not giving that up for a free scanner app.
If you uninstall does the lifetime subscription disappear too or do you have to register an account with them?
Tied to your Apple ID, so no. If you re-install and it isn’t there, go to the app settings and press “restore purchases”.
Works 👏
Downloaded App ✅
Select the free lifetime subscription in the app ✅
Purchase complete ✅
Delete App ✅
Cheers OP
Worth a try but it seems buggy
When you first go into the app, be very careful about which IAP you "buy".
The first thing that comes up is the full price one.
Then when you close out of that, will be a special offer for a discount.
Say no that that as well, then you can select the free lifetime IAP at the bottom of the screen as an option.
@coxymla Can't seem to get past the 2nd special offer. There's no X or No option.
The only button is the Continue button that tries to charge me the discounted price. Tried multiple times. Wonder if the deal is over.
It says
" Languages
Arabic, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Romanian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish" no english???
Same company that gave free lifetime subscription to this room scanner app. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/827224
Seems this app is basically the other app with the add on of pdf scanning.
But this app seems much less glutchy and scans sooooo much faster. The room scanning is pretty awesome tbh.
You’d be annoyed if you actually paid for the lifetime subscription for the other app only to find they putting the effort and features into the new app.
Tested the 3D scanning item feature and it works better than the free app I’ve been using, so thank you OP. I won’t be scanning documents or leaving a review, as I don’t trust the company with any data (mine or other people who download app) beyond 3D scans of statues and shampoo bottles, but will continue trying out the 3D scanner features
Same.
Lifetime subscription is what they are calling buying an app now?
