How to access The Good Guys Commercial

I've been making an effort to steadily convert all my devices over to USB-C charging but my old UE Boom 2 was one the last remaining hold outs. Ultimate Ears have finally released an update to their range of speakers with USB-C charging and I came across these tidy offers for a new release product that I thought I'd share.

The pick of discounts are:
UE Boom 4: in Black and Lilac for $159.00 which is a 30.85% discount from the $229.95 RRP.
UE Everboom: in Black and Blue for $242.00 which is a 30.85% discount from the $349.95 RRP.

Also available:
UE Wonderboom 4: in Black, Blue, Grey, Lilac or Pink for $119.00 which is a 20.64% discount from the $149.95 RRP.
UE Wonderboom Play: in Black for $79.00 which is a 20.96% discount from the $99.95 RRP.

I was not initially able to select my closest store as a click and collect location on the Commercial website for the UE Boom 4 I wanted despite them being available as a click and collect location for the same item on the regular Good Guys website. I ended up calling the store and they advised that only locations with >2 units in stock will show as a click and collect option on Commercial but they were happy to honour the price in store for me.

Since I paid with an Ultimate gift card I would have been able to use it either in store or on the Commercial checkout but if you have access to any regular Good Guys gift card at a discount it might be worth calling your local store to see if they'll honour the price since the loophole to using Good Guys gift cards via Commercial has now been closed.

  • Have also been waiting for them to go USB-C. Our 2 still works but the battery is cooked, it’s got to be almost a decade old. The new lineup is a bit odd though, they’ve got a couple of models that seem to be more or less the same thing in different form factor. Might pop out to a store and give them a listen.

    • Battery on mine deteriorated pretty quickly. Doesn't last long at all anymore.

  • I bought a charging dock from AliExpress to give Boom 3 USB-C. Obviously a less elegant solution but cost effective!

  • I saw a video comparison.

single Everboom and Megaboom 4 get louder than 2x Bose Flex.

  • I have the previous Boom 3 but it is far inferior in sound quality to my Soundcore Motion X600 which has the presence of a hifi system and is selling for a bargain price atm.

    • I have the previous Boom 3

yeah main benefits of Boom 3 are the dust/water protection, drop protection and the fact you can stick it in any cupholder. it also has 360 sound and gets very loud. loudness wins apparently in psycho acoustics for most people louder = sounds better.

but as you said poor value next to the Motion X600 at $111.

  • Apart from USB-C are there any other real changes between the Boom 3 and the Boom 4?
