I have one of these, it's pretty cool if you want the larger 41.5mm speedies

I believe with the discount, this is the atl for this model.

The Seiko SSC913P1 Prospex Speedtimer 'Go Large' is a solar-powered watch with 100m water resistance. It features a classic chronograph with a blue dial, stainless steel case, and bracelet equipped with a three-fold clasp with a push-button release. Its Curved Sapphire Crystal glass boasts an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface.

This design, an addition to the popular ‘Speedtimer’ collection, offers an increased case size of 41.4mm, enhancing practicality and visibility with a tapered bracelet, aluminium bezel, and tachymeter. It conveniently charges from both natural and indoor lighting.

Powered by the Seiko Solar V192 movement, the SSC913 maintains an approximate accuracy tolerance of +/- 15 seconds per month and a 6-month power reserve once fully charged. It features lumibrite hands and markers for night visibility, a screw case back, Tachymeter function, 24-hour hand, chronograph up to 60 mins in 1/5 second increments, date display, small second hand, overcharge prevention function, and a resuming electric power generation display. Highlights include its classic finish, the 41.4mm case size with curved Sapphire crystal, and the iconic Pepsi Bezel.

yoooo this is nice - im kinda tempted just so i can mix it up between this and my ssc813p
i prefer it even over the new/old pogue colour scheme.

I think it'd look good on you

That is a nice one too - the ssc813p. I've got a couple of chronos already and never really use the feature.

this on one wrist, ssc813p on the other

  • How would u rate this time piece lets say against a citizen?

    • well that depends, which citizen

    • Depends what youu want. Citizen Eco-Drives are prob the best when it comes to solar watches because they charge with any light source, not only sunlight. (Edit: Seiko solars are also powered by any light source, my apologies, but the Eco-Drive I linked has 3x the power reserve)

This model is on sale at an atl: https://www.watchdepot.com.au/products/citizen-eco-drive-bl8…

If you don't mind the two-tone cw, it has a perpetual calendar, dual time, day/date, alarm, sapphire, same water resistance. Size is also about the same. But it doesn't have a chronograph function. so the Seiko is a stopwatch, but this has a perpetual calendar and dual time which I personally find way more useful, but I already own this watch with a brown dial and don't really like two-tone.

If this, and the one posted were similar styles and colour, I'd pick the Citizen.

      • This is what i dont understand
I came back from Japan i see that citizen is just as expensive as Seiko?

        • I don't understand what you're trying say? In terms of Japanese watches, generally speaking and of the watches posted here, Seiko and Citizen are pretty much equal until you go high end like a Grand Seiko or Citizen 0100.

My last watch purchase was a Citizen that cost double that of my last Seiko purchase. But before that I got a Seiko that was about 25x the cost of my last Eco-Drive.

The Seiko is more expensive in this case because it's more popular. The Citizen I linked has better specs, maybe slightly better build quality, but isn't selling well so they're clearing stock, whereas the Seiko is still relatively new and will sell.

Both models are like pretty low end. Don't worry about pricing or RRPs. Just buy the one you like more.

I would like this colour combo but went with the SSC911P for more versatility. I've recently bought two watches off WatchDepot and have found Watch Depot to be great. One of them I returned as it was the SSC813P, due to it being too small for my wrist. As part of the sale process, just before shipping you'll get an email from Seiko with a certificate of guarantee linked to your specific serial number, which is a nice touch knowing they are an official supplier.

    • The warranty email from Seiko is a sure way to know the seller is an Authorised Dealer. I wish Citizen and others would do the same thing, because having warranty details in your email is so convenient.
