Economy Return Sydney - Tokyo fr $1040 & Free Japan Domestic Flights (Fly 3/8 - 30/11/2024) @ ANA

560

Just booked a Japan holiday with a "free domestic" stopover. The stop over was around $10 pp for me and I also changed some ungodly flight times. You must book it all on the same itinerary.
https://www.ana.co.jp/en/au/plan-book/promotions/domestic-ad…

Straight from my email. Note that only the middle seat is free with the cheapest fare. But emergency exit row is reasonable at under $100.

Shame I already booked tickets for next month

    • Same for Oct.

  • Nice option for Sydney to HND around $1045 - but why does a Virgin Australia connection from Melbourne bump the total up to $2,032?

VA and ANA are meant to be alliance partners but $1k for the SYD-MEL leg is hideous.

JAL is able to include a Qantas flight for peanuts so ANA should too.

    • Why can’t they fly direct to Melbourne seems. More obvious query , similar population surely the demand is there

      • I think a lot of this has to do with not wanting to setup another base in Australia as it does save them money but I'd imagine it's not great for their yields as I think they had lower passenger numbers then JAL and Qantas and are more often than not discounting.

Qantas may soon be moving its Melbourne to Narita flight back to Haneda as if Virgin don't get a widebody and announce a new flight from either MEL, SYD or BNE to HND, Qantas will be very much asking for the slot.

    • Found the same thing when booking flights for end of the year. Am in Bris and as soon as I entered Bris to Tokyo the price went up around $800 just for adding a return domestic flight to Sydney.

      First world problem

Just need a bigger pay cheque.

already purchased 4 business class to taiwan and osaka on december~feb with singapore airline and china airline.
not the first world problem, there's just many airline to choose. If JAL doesn't run business class promotion i will simply choose their first class.

          • @frozenkuku: Not a first world problem, and obviously not a pay cheque problem too.

    • I feel you, you can still get a cheap/free domestic flight (and return) included with the higher options. I just booked premium economy for May next year including a flight from HND to KIX and back. Was around $5780 for 2. Previous business class deals were only a bit more, but I wanted to lock something in and didn't want to be dictated on travel times. Wanted to wait for a bus class deal, but premium economy splits the difference enough for me. Can't wait!

      • Oh well, you only live once.

Ditch the wife and kids. They're not a business bundle. Now the trip is not only cheaper but more fun!

      • +1

Our travel cost went up significantly since kids. Not only airport is well into the very expensive territory, hotel rooms too for anything with a kitchen.

        • +1

I feel for you. I've purposely stayed single to avoid kids. Its me time till I die!

  • This is great deal for near immediate travel/departures.
Though I booked with Cathay for a NRT arrival.

  • I can't believe the severe drop in aud/jpy - was 109 jpy July 10 2024, crazy.

It was never about aud but usd. Now that Japan and US have announced their fiscal policies, expect 85 by end of year and 75 mid next year.

Massive direct gov bond buying will do that.

      • Yep found the reason, Boj intervened and bought "Japanese authorities spent 5.53 trillion yen, or $36.8 billion, to shore up the yen in July, official data published Wednesday showed"

    • Looks like AUD tanked as well BOJ has been buying JPY. Most currencies tanked against JPY.

  • No BNE cheapies :-(

  • how many domestic flights can you stack with this deal?

  • +1

that yen is moving like the flash

  • It doesn't work for me, not sure what I'm missing? It costs $2259 for 25/9 to 10/10. Syd to tokyo and return.

    • It looks to be fluctuating. I assume they sold out of the cheaper tickets due to those dates being school holidays. I can see even with my dates I booked the prices have gone up $200 already but I can see other dates still with the deal. You can use the search +/- days fares and scroll through.

    • In the same boat as you, can't find anything close to $1040. Most are coming to $3500

  • Did a quick search for SYD - Osaka (via Tokyo), Osaka - Tokyo and finally Tokyo - Syd for 2 adults and 2 children. All up $5454, fare came to $2824, taxes/fees/charges was the other $2670
