  • False report^^

The product is still available for sale.

    • Amazon are dogging lots of people right now. I can't get this delivered even with the work around address trick. Some items still work with it but lots and lots of things need the work around if they work at all.

      • Well, that’s something very strange. I have never heard about this issue before.

        • +1

Apparently Amazon AU has been quietly restricting the types of items that can be delivered to a large number of postcodes (mainly in rural and regional areas) over the last few months. These restrictions mean that (for example) you now cannot get food items and small household goods delivered to you to those areas.

Someone else eventually had Amazon AU acknowledge their "regional" postcode was "restricted".

However, the reason I think those restrictions do not apply for the item in this deal is that I cannot get Amazon AU to deliver this item to postcodes that are not known to be "restricted" by Amazon AU in the last few months. For example, postcode 7050 (Kingston, TAS) can have food items delivered to it, but it cannot have this item delivered to it.

      • +3

The most likely reason you cannot get this item delivered to you (even when using the workaround-address trick) is that Amazon AU appears to be categorising this item as "hazardous materials". That means that there are hefty restrictions on how and where delivery companies can ship this item to.

Amazon AU's restrictions on "hazardous materials" is different to the restrictions Amazon AU quietly started placing on many postcodes a few months ago (which are not as severe).

It's possible, thanks for the explanation. I think the last item was some bleach which was also seeming a bit dodge to get delivered, but had in the past.

      • I get catted all the time by Amazon, but I haven't been dogging before.

        What's the difference?

        • They dog you but you just don't know it

Lemon Lime is also on sale - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08BX8QXLP

Can i use this for when i wanna shave down under specically my balls? Thanks

    • Absolutely, but be sure to rinse well, the anus area is very sensitive skin, and is obviously very close to a mucus membrane.

    • Don't forget to do your sphincter!

    • +1

Unfortunately not - people who buy gillette don't have balls to shave.

  • +4

Chemist Warehouse has it for $2.74 too

  • Just had a flashback to muck up day…

WARNING - My main issue with this shaving cream is the canister. If, like me, you prefer to shave while in the shower for efficiency, you'll find that the canister begins to rust almost immediately. This rust leaves unsightly stains in the shower that are quite difficult to clean.

    • +3

This. Left it on the shower floor and good rust ring there. Lucky the end of lease clean managed to get rid of it.

    • -1

Wouldn’t shaving in the shower, presumably with the water on, waste water?

Specifically hot water ergo not be monetarily the best use funds.

      • +2

OK then.. Scenario two: If you choose to shave outside the shower, you’ll need extra water to rinse your blade and an additional wet towel or paper towel for cleanup. On top of that, setting up outside the shower takes more time. In winter, you’re also left shivering (butt naked).

Overall the process is less efficient, arguably more costly, and overall a less pleasant experience.

I also consider myself incredibly frugal, but I’m not willing to sacrifice the only one small luxury that brings me genuine joy in life.. a ten-minute hot shower..

        Each to their own

        • Ouch, downvoted for an opinion?

I was just sharing some harmless shower thoughts.

I guess I'm not the "best a man can be".

    • +1

Yes it’s why I don’t get it anymore. It doesn’t need to be used in the shower, wet hands enough.
I’ve switched to Nivea sensitive. Nice aluminium can that direct rust. The gel seems better too..

      • +1 for Nivea Sensitive Gel

    • wait how do u shave your face in the shower without a mirror?

      • Is that really a question, why do you need a mirror?

        • maybe im just stupid but i feel like id either completely miss parts of my face or slice my face open without a mirror. cant say i've tried before however.

    • A simple trick I use is to buy a small bottle of clear nail polish (old style that dries without the UV light) and paint the bottom of the rim of the canister before using. Stops the rusting…..

  • +3

    Noo I want only gel

  • good price

  • Tried the woolworths egde shaving gel yesterday $4 for the first time. Seemed pretty good value and worked as expected.

  • Why the august 21 delivery when it's amazon AU?

    • Probs stock delays.

    • -1

Mine was despatched 6 hours after I ordered it last night.

  • Anyone know of any scentless, no soap shave creams? I'm intolerant to a lot of ingredients, and shave stuff is the worst for me . Could be a bit of an oxymoron, but here's to hoping. I usually use Dermaveen but it doesn't lather up nice

    • +3

Taylor of Old Bond Street make an "organic" shaving cream which is preservative and fragrance free. Its a little expensive and works best with a shave brush. Here's a link and there's an ingredients list.
      https://www.beardandblade.com.au/products/taylor-of-old-bond…

      • interesting, thanks

    • +1

If its bad enough that you break out where you shave then use whatever bar soap you use to wash your body with and a shaving brush. The shaving brush lathers up a decent amount from just a tiny amount of soap using your hand or a lather bowl (there are YouTube guides of you DK).

  • Shaving creams were all ten dollars minimum at woolies. Taking the piss. Gels were cheap so yeah.

    • +2

Having used both, nothing except shaving soaps (bars) lather up as good as a shaving cream/foam. Gels are crap.

      • Having used both, I don't mind them.

  • +4

Buy a proper shaving soap and brush and save yourself money in the long run.
Also buy a double edged blade like your grandfather and save yourself a tonne of money compared to the disposable blades that don't shave close enough.

    • Any recommendations for sensitive skin?

  • Gillette has been banned forever in my household and I will never allow another Gilette product to enter my house again. I dont care how cheap it is……I hope the brand goes out of business.

    • +1

I think op clearly is frustrated with making too many sandwiches…

    • Why? Its the best a Man can get?

      • Probably came across some article online saying, that Gillette is inhumane when it comes to testing on ball shaving, just like any other unethical article on product X on the web.

    • +1

Same here, and I posted the bargain.

I make an exception on this product only when it is discounted by 50% or more, assuming it is a loss leader for the brand.

Gillette is dead to me after they accused men of toxic masculinity and told us to do better. But I will pick over their bones when possible.

      • I respect that take. They have already done a disservice to men, so why punish yourself any more by passing on something potentially under cost.

    • +1

That comment + username would indicate you don't have enough for a picnic.

  • NIVEA MEN Sensitive Shaving Gel and l'oreal Shaving Gel (which are no longer available) are way better than this.

    • Agree. I recently bought schick hydro shaving gel, 200gms. The can lasted half as long as the Nivea.

  • +1

    use this before. crappy
not sure if this is now aluminium base or iron, previously it is the iron base, and always rust and leave a stain.
Nivea is the way to go.

    • You need to season the bottom of your cast iron Gillette cans.

  • Tiktok says this is good for cleaning piss stains around the toilet

  • +1

    Be nice and clean
    Shave every day and
    You'll always look keen
