At $60/2kg ($30/kg) - is it REALLY that much of a saving over the current $8/250g at coles ($32/kg eqiv) without having to commit to a 2kg buy.
FWIW I did try this before, back in the day when I cbf fw with stovetop coffee - it was ok.
I see amazon is also price matching coles at 1kg/$32 shipped for prime members
Not really much of a bargain for Aus number one bargain website when you can buy smaller 250g bags for $8 at Coles as mentioned above by JW.
Making coffee with fresh beans is always recommended over buying in bulk and storing it away for a long time.
How fresh are the ones at Coles though? Last time I checked roasters like dc/St Ali etc at my local Coles, the roast date was about 3 months prior.
Yeah I was looking at DC beans at coles the other week and they were all roasted in April. I'd rather pay more for fresh beans than buy stale ones at Coles for a bit of a discount. I don't even know why they bother stocking them at Coles if they're going to be that old by the time people buy them
