Samsung Galaxy A55 128/8GB $499 Outright Delivered @ Telstra (Telstra ID Required)

180

Been looking at new phone options for the other half and saw this $200 off deal with Telstra at the moment. Not quite as a cheap as the recent amaysim one, but that's expired, and this one doesn't require adding a SIM/plan either.

Personally holding out hoping for another deal on an S23, but figured someone might be interested in this.

It was $279 at Amaysim with $30 sim plan

    • I never saw that , impressive.

I don't know why some people act like sore losers and start negging because they didnt receive it. Here is evidence of pricing

        https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/82858/114646/screensho…

        • Coz not every existing customer received the $150 voucher, so that's like winning lotto of the universe to get it at that price, and I bet we will never see that deal ever again. BTW I didn't neg you as I was lucky enough to score it at that price too.

        • prudent to state ALL-criteria to keep everyone happy

  • Unfortunately , not as attractive as amaysims $400.00 offer !
Still it’s cheaper than recommended retail price

  • makes you realize how good the amaysim deal was lol

Tempted to swap my pixel 7a for this as battery life and screen are much better…but weighed against pixel photos hrmmm

    • That's the thing, the Pixel takes such good photos, I can almost put up with the trade off on battery life.

      • +1

Until battery dies and can't take any photos

  • Is it unlocked?

    • -1

Yes and no need to buy online, just rocks up to any Telstra retail shops and buy on spot, not even asking me for any Telstra ID or any form of ID at all, you just need to pull out your CC and pay, that's how I got my A35 from their last deal.

    https://plus.telstra.com.au/rewards/explore/25070

    • Where do you get the $388.91 figure from?

      • When you add the 40,000 you get for signing up to the $62 offer, to the purchase price of the phone on that screen, it gives you a ~$111 discount, so the $62 for a month of service is ~$49 less than the discount on the phone you can get by using those points to buy it.

JB Hi-Fi matched this offer, in case anyone else prefers them.
Also if you're like me and this is you're first new phone in a long time, be aware the box does not include a charging adaptor. So you may need to get a USB-C charger as well depending on what you already own.

    • JB refused saying you need to be a member

      • Perhaps it depends on the staff member, maybe try another store? The guy who handled it for me just took a glance at my mobile screen to confirm the price and then put it through.

      • free to be a member…

Anybody tried to price match at Officeworks? Do they usually price match Telstra store?

    • +2

They usually don't since the offer says have to be a member

      • -1

Just tell them your a Perks member, worth a shot :)

  • JB won't match Amaysim either.

  • The Good (Great) Guys price matched Telstra for us today. Only took 5 mins checking the Telstra outright deal and checking with supervisor.
The midrange phone is great. SIM tray still has space for a SD card. Nice surprise.

  • 'You need a plan associated to your account to buy a device outright.'

That's what happened when I tried to purchase online (after creating a Telstra ID and account).

So, this is essentially for existing customers only?
