They, like all online stores that just drop ship whatever, always have "sales" which are generally always fake.

No clue how you tell if something is actually a deal.

I'd really recommend the Ikea Strandmon set. It is twice the price, but it's excellent quality and if you're using it every day it will hold up to the test of time (mine is 5 years old and with daily use still looks very good).

You can also get the Ikea Strandmon on Marketplace quite cheap and its very easy to clean with an upholstery cleaner.

    • I couldn't imagine using ikea and quality in the same sentence. Albeit half my house is Ikea and the other half is frankenkea (like ikea legs on a decent desk topper).

      But as a comparative metric, I mean….caaaaarn.

The thing with Temple & Webster is the shipping is always ridiculous. It is $79 for me, so more than 30% of the cost.
Imagine buying a MacBook for $1500 and the shipping is $450

I'm no logistics expert, but I'd assume if the MacBook took up similar space/weight requirements as the armchair, then the shipping would be commensurate.

Mind you, if there's a bargain shipping option that prices delivery based on value, please let me know!!

Agreed, a MacBook is much smaller, the real issue is the inflated shipping costs; the very similar Catch chair linked above has shipping of only $29, and there are similar ones on Amazon with free shipping!
Also the fact that Temple and Webster do not combine or even discount shipping is very disappointing.

  • I no long trust the Temple & Webster sales. I swear I looked at this exact item a few weeks back and its regular price was $299. Looks like it went up in price significantly and dropped in the space of days.

  • I made a similar purchase at Coles Best Buy https://bestbuys.coles.com.au/products/oikiture-armchair-lou… when it had higher cashback on Shopback/Cashrewards. The downside of this product is that it lacks back support. Luckily, I had sourced a cushion (those could be used in a car for lumbar support) with a velvet grey cover, so they matched each other.

    • Thanks heaps mate. I just bought one. Had no idea this site existed.
