the 1 star reviews are concerning. There seems to be lots of cheap products rebranded and sold on amazon with paid reviews. so im not too sure about this.
thanks for pointing that out.. in the Amazon comments seems some people have broke theirs whilst using impact drivers and said not for heavy/professional use and to use them on drill mode only, but good for DIY etc. though 5,630 total 5 star ratings, 918 total 4 star ratings and only 366 total 1-3 star ratings combined.. for $7.94 im willing to risk it, though i will take into account what people have said about it, and not go too hard on them hehe.. and i looked at other NEIKO brand products and they seemed pretty high rated on Amazon.

Tying in to @fatbunn's comment, If they have paid reviews on one product they sell (not saying they do), then them having many 5 star reviews on other listings wouldn't be a reliable indicator of their trustworthiness
1 star reviews are always concerning…
If only to use with drill, then it's got nothing to do with impact. Anyone has impact driver doesn't need this one.
True.. hmm it doesn't specifically state it's for impact drivers, it seems, interesting..
It mentions Impact Adapter/Grade/ Ready eight times.
It also mentions Drill once (DRILL SOCKET-ADAPTER SET).
Anyone has impact driver doesn't need this one
What?
These are designed to be used with impact drivers.
No, these were designed to adapt impact SOCKETS onto a regular drill (ie with a chuck). An impact driver won't have a chuck and so these will be of no use.
you are thinking of a impact driver with end directly for a socket. eg one used to take off wheel nuts on a car. These will suit a impact driver that is used in construction for things like tech screws eg: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-hp-compact-brushle…
so yes they are for an impact driver
@Porksword: TIL I never realised such things even existed!
@Porksword: Yup i.e. Impact wrench versus impact driver
These are for impact drill.
NO.
Drill Driver - hell no
Hammer Drill - I can understand some reason, but still no
Impact Driver - yes
Impact Wrench - no need for an adapter, the impact socket fits directly.
Torque Test Channel recently tested these - https://youtu.be/KxY_pmB5_Bw
Results, very average and advised to just buy one of the better sets from Milwaukee - 48-32-5033 or DeWalt (DW2541IR, DW2542IR, DW2547IR) set.
Awesome find thanks man! That's some good info
The Milwaukee set is $14 @ Total Tools https://www.totaltools.com.au/97736-milwaukee-1-4-hex-to-soc…
Thanks, that clearly makes this a non-deal as far as I am concerned. More than twice the performance for not twice the price, however you don't get the bit holder.
You make a good point thanks for finding it out
Have an upvote - interesting vid given the brands involved.
thks, bought 2 as i loose these as quick as 10mm sockets, think a 1/2” impact gun and hex bit holder could result in stripping or breakages base on the torque some 1/2” drivers / guns can deliver so a bit of common sense would need to be used, and some people might use 1/2” gun to drive hex rather than hex to drive a 1/2” socket with bad outcome,
Was literally looking to use something like this on a little job today , rather than downsizing from a 1/2” impact .
I might have to get the Milwaukee set as well for bigger jobs though .
Skip that - canceled order
There are far too many reports (in reviews on this and other sites) of these shearing apart under normal impact loads.
Stick with the old tool maxim: by all means buy cheap tools. But replace the ones that break with good quality ones (because you now know you use them).
Since everybody else has already broken these for me I can skip step one.
I find the cheap adapters not only break from less load, but also deform inside the socket and make it hard to separate the bits.
3 2 1 broken
Don't waste Ur 7bux
"currently unavailable"
FYI the Kincrome version of this is only $17 at SCA
There is a Detroit adapter kit from Total Tools for $7 on clearance and probably worth posting its own deal .
nice find
Just spend the extra and get the Milwaukee set that will last more than twice as long - https://www.totaltools.com.au/97736-milwaukee-1-4-hex-to-soc…
Why do you think the Milwaukee set will last twice as long ?
Not being a smart arse .
Genuinely would like to know .
read my earlier comment up the page, link to video showing they do.
@snuke: You did hear him say in the beginning of testing ,we’ll be skipping over the ones that we’ve already tested and broke much too easily , like the Milwaukee super stubbie.
And did they test the Detroit brand that I have referred to?
If not I don’t know how conclusive it is , I’m sure Milwaukee set is probably better for twice the price .
but Are we getting the same part as the USA ?
@beach bum: I watched the full video, I watch all of their videos in full.
I gather you didn't watch it. The Milwaukee super stubbie is NOT the one I linked to, it's average to sub standard, a hard pass.
And did they test the Detroit brand that I have referred to?
No, Detroit is a localised rebadging of XY or Z generic stuff that is done by Total Tools. Add it to the pile of other generic stuff that will have generic results. Project Farm also tested impact adapter bits and found the DeWalts to be the set to get, which is also what Torque Test Channel advise. The Milwaukee on TTC video did not perform as well on the Project Farm tests - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMQoM6drzLs
However, I would advise on a bit that has shown to be effective, rather than a bit that has no tests to draw from.
Personally, I got the DeWalt bits - https://www.amazon.com.au/3-Piece-Adapter-DW2541IR-DW2542IR-…
I’m sure Milwaukee set is probably better for twice the price but Are we getting the same part as the USA ?
Yes, it's the same SKU.
You know to draw on well known testing to give your opinion credibility then use it to beat everyone over the head with it with untested opinions you just lose all credibility , now you’ve just confused people again.
Maybe just give your opinion in future and leave it at that .
I am not beating anyone over the head.
OPs post scores poorly, I provide evidence and suggest alternatives.
You suggest alternative with nothing but price as an alternative. I suggest to just spend the extra to ensure you have a safer product with known capabilities vs your with no known tests. Take all that info as you wish and make your own decision, now with some actual education.
now you’ve just confused people again.
Just because you have been confused, doesn't mean "people" are. I somehow don't think you are that special as to represent everyone.
Look, I provided links to two videos with actual tests. Your reply suggest you choose to not watch the first video in full, so it is on you as to whether or not you wish to make an educated buying decision, or simply by on price. And hey, that may be 100% fine, you may only ever use an impact adapter once or twice a year, and that $7 kit could therefore be perfect. At least I have given you the tools to make an educated decision, do with that info what you will.
All the best.
Sounds like a good name for an Aliexpress watch.
