Our Brand
Maati is a play on the Greek word 'Mati', meaning eye. The brand draws inspiration from the 'Evil Eye' amulet that provides protection to all its wearers.

Maati is an 100% Australian owned contact lens brand established by Sydney based Optometrists Michael Mihailidis and Maria Dimitratos with over 30 years experience in the optical industry. They own a practice located in Hurstville and are well known in the community for dedication to providing excellent eyecare. Maati is a result of their constant drive to provide only the best for their patients.

All Maati lenses are TGA approved and have been certified from its manufacturers to be completely free from fluoropolymers, also known as 'forever chemicals'.

Thanks op. Cheap lenses so I can see bargains better.

  • Fakespot (potential risk monitoring service) sure does not like this website !!

How important are other measurements when it comes to contact lenses? The last contacts I purchased have different base curve, diameter etc. measurements.

    • +3

The actual material and lens design are more important than the base curve/diameter etc. Not familiar with Toufilcon B but Etafilcon A (eg, Acuvue 2) is a very old material and far better materials have been designed in the 30+ years since that was first introduced (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/340505022_Thirty_ye…)

I think there may also be some restrictions against providing prescription contact lenses without a prescription in some states (https://www.optometry.org.au/patient_care_management/optomet…)

If you want to try contact lenses, just ask your optometrist and they will likely be able to provide you with some free trials of a modern contact lens

      • Interesting, thanks for the links! Will definitely need to get an updated prescription.

      • The newer materials (all brands) are softer and slipper-ier which has made it more comfortable to wear but actually made it much more difficult to take off! It's like peeling skin at the end of the day for me. Sorry I don't to mean this for this product but all modern contact lenses are like that.

I miss my old Acuvue dailies

Didn't Maati have the power of heart, not sight?

    • You are thinking of Ma’at, who is the Egyptian goddess that handles the matters of karmic justice and weighs one’s heart against a feather of ostrich.

Not a bargain. Trial lenses are free with every brand.

    • Free is a bargain. No?

      • By the definitions given on this site - regular pricing is not a bargain.

Yet i see lots of Freebie deals, heck there's even a category for it!

      Plenty of deals for trials:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/Trial%20type%3Aozbd…

But I agree I would just go to your optometrist, Specsavers are happy to give at least 5 pairs if I'm ever stuck, and good chance to try other types.

  • Any help centre contact information? I went for the trial but had old delivery address under Paypal.

    • found it

  • Nothing for astigmatism?

    • Your prescription must be too cyl-ly for them

Got the free lenses. Initial impressions (wearing them now, first time).

    1. Pretty standard pkging, could have been OEM with some factory.
    2. Pretty soft lens, they were the right way down upon opening (unlike the annoying Specsavers ones) to make it easy to pick up and no need to flip them around.
    3. Noticed the lens edge cut didn't make a complete flat circumference, butnfrom experience this doesn't impact wearing.
    4. Easy to insert and soft enough it stuck to my eye ball pretty easily.
    5. Have them on for 4 hrs now and no issues.

I guess it comes down to $ per lens at the end. Will update soon when I try and take them off.

    • Any updates?

      • They are fine. Dailies so took them off at end of day without much issue.

They felt better than Specsavers ones IMO. These being the right way facing out of the container and easier to put on and take off.
