[SUBS, PC, XSX] Star Wars: Outlaws Added to Ubisoft+ Premium (Subscription from $23.95/Month) @ Ubisoft

140

Fairly certain I don't want pay 100 dollary doos for this but pretty sure I can finish it in a month… (I have an abysmal track record finishing games haha).

Then, in six months or whenever when the DLC comes out, sub again. So $50 for the "gold edition"?

Release Date:30/08/2024 (27/08/2024 with Ubisoft+ Premium)

This game isn't available day one on the base subscription but if you have premium, you do get it plus the three days beta test early access.

I wonder if this shite will be any good.

    • +1

A mix of Watch Dogs and The Division with a Star Wars setting I'm betting. Don't think it'll be groundbreaking but will probably be somewhat enjoyable none the less!

  • I have Gamepass Ultimate or whatever the top tier is - is this included?

    • +1

      No

    • -1

This is most definitely a bargain. However I won’t be playing the game. The lack of a strong female lead, akin to the leads in The Last of Us Part 2 (I don’t rate part 1), puts me off this game. It’s clear that they’re trying to target this current game to a hyper masculine audience, and I won’t have a part of it.

  • +13

I'm sorry. Ubisoft wants how much for their subscription?
    BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    • +6

$24 a month, every month for the rest of your life seems expensive but $24 for ONE month to play the one game they're likely to release this year that I'm actually keen on seems like a pretty good deal imho.

      • +5

NAHHH F THAT. A single sh*t publisher known for releasing half baked AAA games charging more than XboxUP and Playstation plus Deluxe.

This mentality is why we have so many subscriptions models.

The gall of Ubisoft to think they can charge more than anyone else for only their catalogue. F THAT with a CAPITAL F.

Don't support this crap. It's the reason why Samsung thinks they can charge a subscription for their Buds3 Pro earbuds features. SMH

        • I actually thought Ubi games were relatively bug free at launch?

        • I hate a lot of their practices as much as you do, but paying $23.95 for their new games instead of $130 sounds like a hell of a deal to me, I'll be doing it for a month then cancelling. I am betting LOTS of people will be doing this and they'll change it soon (like forcing a minimum 3-6 month sub), but for now, I am happy to exploit it while I can.

Pretty much every AC game drops to like $13 in a year, they're so bad at investing in games, for them, it's just volume.

I recently got into No Man's Sky, that studio is STILL investing in the game nearly 8 years later, and it's still selling for $60.

      • I really wish I picked it up not long after launch when it dropped to like $10, as soon as they started making improvements it jumped back up and hasn't been really cheap again

  • +9

Its Ubisoft, this game will be $23.95 within the first year just like the rest of their titles.
Still, not a bad deal if you want to play it within the first few months.

  • +2

This game is DOA. Ubisoft have no clue anymore.

    • -3

      well yeah its DOA

because its DEI and sweet baby shite

ubisoft is not a company i want to patronise… like EA…

      • -2

Don't know why you're getting downvoted - this is definitely manjaw-galore, girlboss, "yass-slay-qween" DEI slop that will be a total sales flop.

        • -1

Spot the gamer dad with the diseased mind and corrupted soul… Sincerely hope you don't have a daughter dude.

  • +2

Seeing as this is a Ubisoft release, I'll be waiting a month until it's on sale before even considering buying it.

I'm terrible at finishing games too, and the last thing I want to do is to force myself to finish a game just because I don't want to sub for another month.

    • +3

Forcing myself to finish a game might be the only way I'll actually do it 😅

Finished Mad Max last week, now I just have to finish…

      Starfield
      Shadow of the Tom Raider
      Sleeping Dogs
      Assassin's Creed Odyssey
      Spiderman 2
      Spiderman: Miles Moralis
      Jedi Fallen Order 2
      etc
      etc

      • +3

Good thing none of those titles are time sinks!

        • +1

I see AC Odyssey and I shudder

        • I guess you can tell the sort of games I'm into haha

They're only time sinks if you want to do all the side stuff. And if you don't wanna do the side stuff then that's a poor sign for the game overall?

AC: Odyssey, the number of times I've flipped a district from red to blue and back again, I do it cause it (imho) plays really well and I don't mind the grind, I got Kassandra up to level 50 with a huge chunk of main story line left cause I wanted to finish it off with all the top tier gear. I still will, one day…

      • +1

        Forgot Hogwart's Legacy haha

  • sweet baby + ubisoft

  • -3

I'm not playing it. Nothing to do with Ubisoft or the subscription service - more because Star Wars is basically just DEI now.

Don't tell me - they made the lead character a girl, right? Did they put a chick in it and make it lame and g*y?

    • +1

I didn't downvote- but please explain what DEI means and why female character is bad?

      • -2

        DEI = Didn't Earn It.

Feminine female character is great (hello Bunny from The First Descendant).
Manjaw-galore, girlboss, "yass-slay-qween" female character is cringe.

        • I've never once cared who the protagonist is. It's either a good game worth playing or not. The fact that people get so upset over it that they don't play, petition the publisher, or the worst offenders - harass or abuse the actors online - is absolutely unfathomable to me. When I'm playing it doesn't register who my character is, what planet they're from, what their name is - I just care about if the game is fun to play!

    • +1

Please explain how a fictional video game character "didn't earn it"?

      • -5

Are you referring to Rey Palpatine - the character whose picture appears in the dictionary under "Mary Sue"?
Or are you referring to the Rey clone in Star Wars Outlaws?

Rey is the definition of Didn't Earn It. The scene where she knows how to fix the Millennium Falcon better than Han Solo springs to mind. But there are many more examples: https://youtu.be/Y-eEKGt-26I?si=qyISu6AzAnGEBz_M

Does anyone seriously think Manjaw Galore from Outlaws will be any different?

I pity any woman who ever has to interact with you.

          • -5

@KapitaneXtreme: This might be hard for a simpleton to understand, but women LIKE being feminine. Women LIKE interacting with a masculine, dominant man. You've probably never had the experience, but before I was married I banged scores of women. Of course there's the flirting and the banter at first and that's all good. But then there's the moment when the woman suddenly realises she's dealing with an alpha male - and in that exact moment you can see her eyes light up like a christmas tree. "Ah yes!" you can see her think as the light bulb switches on in her brain - "FINALLY - not yet another soyjack beta male coomer… An actual MAN!"

As I said, I doubt you've ever experienced this, but its quite amazing to see the most sassy chick transform into a submissive and feminine little angel. Its magical.

    • yes, yes they did.. as per the memo for all Disney content.

I was initially thinking of trading some Switch games to JBHIFI since they have that deal going on where you can get it for free with trades.. but this actually sounds like a better idea since those games are probably worth more all up anyway.

    Cheers.

  • LOL, $23.95 to be a beta tester for a month.
Might be better subbing when the bugs are ironed out, or better still purchase at a discount in a few months.

this trash looks like it was developed in 2004.. I'm hearing some serious diversity hires happening in that industry..
