Personally I wouldn’t buy these again. I found these do not last anywhere near as long as standard energizers. Just using on kids toys mainly and it’s noticeable how quickly the battery dies. Not worth it.

    • Similar quality to Bunnings?

Varta? I have always had good results with those and no leaks.

        • how do you know if there is a leak?

        • I've had some Varta Longlife AA Alkaline batteries from Bunnings leak horribly before which destroyed an expensive torch. Corroded that bad that I couldn't get the batteries back out of the torch. Granted it only happened once and the batteries were left unused in the torch for a long time.

Agreed. Was disappointed at how quickly they died. Wouldn’t buy again, just buy energisers when on sale.

    • Not sure if these have changed now, I got a bunch when I was in US in 2017. They are still running in the digital thermometer and a timer.

Are they any better than kmart AAs? kmart ones seem to perform ok.

  • Just comparing this special tonight on Amazon to on special to Woolworth's Energizers at 1/2 price. My Excel spreadsheet shows me the Amazon ones are around 1/3 the cost. So a 37c battery is not as good as a $1 battery (both on special currently). I would expect that. I would still buy the Amazon one for most things and come out way ahead over the years.

If you want reliability and limited battery changing buy the expensive ones. For me no big deal replacing battery's if they go flat although I run most things on recharge batteries anyway if the lower voltage works. Best recharge batteries ever for me are some old Sonys I once found and usually any REAL Japanese built ones. To add I have given up on Duracell over the years as they have destroyed so many of my remote controls, still running while eating the control out with acid until no more working.

I have 20-30 x AA rechargeable battery spare after we aren’t playing wiiIU. Rechargeable battery is cheaper with just after few recharges
