Help Me Decide Where to Stay in Seminyak

In September we are staying 9 nights in Bali, the last 4 are already booked at The Mulia in Nusa Dua. I'm struggling big time on where to stay in Seminyak for the first 5 nights.

It's either The Bandha Hotel which I know is technically Legian, but I'm going to call it South Seminyak. Or a villa eg https://www.5starbalivilla.com.au/property/villa-aquila/ in north Seminyak in the Petitenget area as there are no reasonably priced hotels.

This is for 2 couples where half hate walking (15 mins max). Not really into partying but more so good restaurants, cocktails and shopping. The only plans are a full day trip to Ubud and most of the Pandora escape rooms in Kuta.

Every person I ask is giving me different answers and I think I trust the opinions of OzB more.

Is it too late to change to Thailand?

Thailand's good from Feb/March, unfortunately it'll be close to the wet season. Good get though, i prefer Phuket over Bali tbh.

We did Thailand in Feburary. Chiang Mai was nice but boring, Bangkok and Phuket was just horrible in every aspect. Much preferred Bali although last trip was 5 years ago.

you must have gone to the wrong parts.

        • We went to all the places everyone recommends.

  • For asia I usually like using agoda to have a look you can choose by stars and user rating. I normally click on the 8+ rated and 3 stars or above and lowest price first. Then compare on an aggregator site like trivago or hotels combined.

  • Four Seasons or Capella at Ubud rather than Seminyak but if you stayed at either, it would be a huge downgrade slumming it at The Mulia on your last nights.

  • I stayed at the bandha and I didn't rate it, was like a standard hotel at a premium price and the cocktails weren't that good.

If you are looking for privacy the samaya was great, but the location for shopping is not great.

Courtyard by Marriott used to be amazing, near lots of food and party and they have a private section on the beach

  • Can highly recommend Courtyard by Marriott Seminyak. Have stayed many times since it opened ~10 years ago and it's never disappointed.
Most of the staff have been there long term, which says a lot about the place too I reckon.
