BWS: 30% Cashback (Capped at $20 Per Member, Exclusions Apply) @ TopCashback AU

700

BWS 30% Cashback Online Purchase (capped at $20 per member).
Maximum value is to spend around $73 (with GST). The 30% cashback (i.e. $20) will be on $66.66 (excludes GST).

Based on previous feedback, it seems that Pick up orders can only be placed at some BWS stores during opening hours.

There were comments about tracking issues and then rejected claims with BWS and cashback sites previously. It may be best to wait till your order tracks before you pick up.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:

  • Champagne, Penfolds and non-alcoholic products. (Sparkling wine & non-alcoholic beer are eligible for cashback).
  • Orders paid partially or in full with WOW dollars or rewards.
  • Use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.
  • Purchases made via the retailer's mobile app. (Tip: Pause or Uninstall the BWS mobile app)

Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.
If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

  • Based on previous feedback, it seems that Pick up orders can only be placed at BWS stores during opening hours

Are you saying you need to do this for the transaction to track with SB?

I’ve made transactions at BWS out of business hours, and they don’t track. Wondering if this is the issue. The order goes through without issue at BWS.

    • +1

It's that one can't check out if the selected store for pick-up is closed. Nothing to do with Cashback being tracked.

      • Ok thanks.

Weird, I made a C&C order at 7am Sunday without issue. The store doesn’t open till 10am

        • Perhaps it doesn't apply to all BWS stores. I've edited to some stores. I've only ordered during opening hours.

  • +1

    thanks OP

  • One more Q. Can I make multiple transactions, at multiple stores, each receiving 30% CB, as long as the total CB of all transactions doesn’t exceed $20?

I can’t see anything about 1 transaction per user.

    • Seems to be per member, not per transactions so answer probably no unless rep answer otherwise

    • @1989jdm On the safe side, it may be best to wait till your orders track before you pick up.

Can I make multiple transactions, at multiple stores, each receiving 30% CB, as long as the total CB of all transactions doesn’t exceed $20?

I've asked the rep tightarse and will let you know when he replies.

    • +1

why would you bother with all that, just do an order, max cashback only $20.

Hmm, Great Northern original 30 block unavailable (but still $10 more than DM's. Hardly worth the trouble).

      • +1

I was close to explaining why I would do that in my comment because I knew there’d be the inevitable ‘why tho’. So just for you G-rig:

My favourite 4 packs are on clearance at BWS. I have multiple BWS stores close by.
Each store is only carrying a 1-2 4packs each.

        • Ah right. Have to have those replies ready to fire off haha
Sounds annoying, easier to just use it for one slab or something.

          • @G-rig: For you maybe. This is easy and convenient for me. Add the 30% CB in and it’s a killer deal.

            • @1989jdm: oh right which 4 packs?

I noticed Suntory 10 packs were $48 this morning now $59.. so a lot of the prices are all jacked anyway.

It's still only max $20 cashback, and DM is usually a lot cheaper.

              • @G-rig: Fizzer sour grape.
                4pack $9.50.
Dan Murphys doesn’t even come close in this instance

                • @1989jdm: hook in mate, hook in. I expect they should be gone already!

    • +1

@1989jdm Reply from the rep tightarse: You can have as many transactions as you like. Each needs a separate click. The total cashback however across all transactions combined will be capped at $20.

      • +1

Thanks for getting back to me, appreciate it.
3 separate transactions coming up :)

  • what's TCB's actual BWS sales confirmation like? still waiting for my BWS via SB from 5 June to be "confirmed"

    • Mine got tracked with Cash Rewards then denied payment.

  • Is that real! What a big deal?!

  • I used this offer few months ago and I never got that money. the status said "enquire". I raised the ticket last week and still no reply or any communcation from them. This is the third time this happens to me. The pattern i see is they give you all the cashback if it is small. if the amount is closer to 20$ they will make it difficult for you so that you give up and dont bother asking. How come small amounts gets accounted for automatically without any issues and only the big amounts are having the problems.

    • The pattern i see is they give you all the cashback if it is small. if the amount is closer to 20$ they will make it difficult for you so that you give up and dont bother asking

Sounds like that's coming straight from Shopback's playbook. Any time the cashback is an up-sized/promo/highly increased cashback, you can be sure chasing up SB will be needed. Can't say I've experienced the same with TCB but their customer service process of logging enquiry forms and not being to email them directly is a PITA. They're definitely in the juvenile stage of customer support. Cashrewards come out on top IMO.

    • @SuperKat Did you receive an email from TopCashback when you submitted the claim? The email would have stated that TopCashback will submit your claim to the merchant and this process can take several months. Apart from this initial email, there is usually no response during the waiting period of 2-3 months.

You can view your claim here or add further info: https://www.topcashback.com.au/account/enquiries/missingcash…

      More info: https://www.topcashback.com.au/help/missing-cashback-claims/

I had lodged a missing cashback claim for Amazon and eBay with TopCashback. Both claims took less than 2 months to be paid. Unfortunately there is a waiting period during the claim process.

All cashbacks should be considered a bonus.
Don't buy it if you weren't going to anyway. Or just put in a claim.

Mine tracked (pending)soon after the order, and didn't use the app (or pick up before seeing that). Good to read all the do's and don'ts.

  • +2

I have 4 out of 4 successful cashback with BWS and TCB

    • yeah me too, never had an issue with the BWS + TCB combo.

  • +4

All the cashback services struggle with bws because if you install the bws app it doesn't track. Even if you start with chrome or safari, the mobile os will redirect you to the app if it is installed.

    • +1

Good tip. Have to uninstall the BWS app to avoid this issue. Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via BWS mobile app.

      • +1

I just paused it. but yeah that was stated in the terms and TCB app when you hit the button

        • I don't have BWS app installed. Is it obvious when it redirects to the BWS app? Perhaps this may explain the non-tracking issues (also complaints with CR and SB).

          • @trixieb: well that will ensure it doesn't try and fire up the BWS app haha.
you don't really need it anyway just put the ER or Woolies into wallet for scanning.

Ended up ordering 24x 500mL Goats for $72 (so $52 all things going well is ok)

That was quick. $20 CB tracked in about 1 hour.

Strangely my transaction from 2 days ago with BWS / TCB has not tracked.

    • Speedy here too, tracked in 30 minutes.

  • Took about 35 mins for mine to track… shame this deal didnt allow multiples but I am happy to have yet another reason to drink tonight ;-)

    • Multiple what? It allows multiple transactions if that’s what you mean

      • some deals have no cap per member.. just per transaction… so you can do multiple transactions. which is fine.. there will be more in the future.

        • +1

I've never seen a BWS one offering 20% + cashback and no cap. When was the last one as I must've missed it?

        • @wwwboy @thestig It's rare for no cap. There was a 15% cashback, no cap in Mar 2022. (I wasn't a member of any cashback sites then): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/690430

          • +1

@trixieb: yeah I didnt explain it well. I meant I wished you could do multiple transactions each with a cap. sorry about that.

Topcashback should state not to have BWS app on (wierd) with these cashback companies what Australian government agency can we complain to if needed ? Anyone have Topcashback tel # ? Nice to know if it has tracked immediately as if not one can cancel and redo if on same day

    • +1

yeah it does say not to use the app.
      Just uninstall it.

    • +1

@JakDac Sorry I don't understand what your complaint is to the Australian Government agency or having to call TopCashback.

Not using the mobile app for retailers while shopping at cashback sites is not unique to BWS and TopCashback. TopCashback, Cashrewards and ShopBack have similar T&Cs about not using the retailers mobile app when shopping and BWS is one of several retailers.

The reason is most likely that tracking cannot be detected when you use the mobile apps of many retailers (with some exceptions). Hence we would like to prevent tracking issues and help you get the cashback easily by suggesting you either pause or uninstall the BWS app, in case it is accidentally used. This has been made with good intentions and there is no need to call the Govt or ring TopCashback to complain. Hope you understand.

As you may be aware, there have been tracking issues with BWS and other cashback sites including Cashrewards and ShopBack. I also suggested that you wait for your order to track first, then pick up, just to be sure. Tracking time varies. Members have also mentioned that pick up orders can only be placed at some BWS stores during opening hours.

      • Since aware of situation and screenshots sent of purchase please manualy put in cashback. On CB sites I have previously made BWS purchases with BWS app installed and tracked. Again if we do not know it is tracked by midnight we lose out. Not answered / Is there a government agency that overseas CB terms and is there
        a phone number ?

        • @JakDac I have replied to your PM this afternoon that you cannot use the BWS app as the order most likely won't track and cashback will not be paid. I also advised that if you used the BWS app, you would have to cancel and reorder without using the app.

Unfortunately if your order hasn't tracked by now, it may not track. A missing cashback claim will fail as you used the BWS app which is against their terms.

The following terms and conditions are attached to this offer and shown clearly:

          • It has been stated in the post description above: Cashback is ineligible on the following:
Purchases made via the retailer's mobile app
. (Tip: Pause or Uninstall the BWS mobile app)

          • TopCashback/BWS page when you place the order. T&Cs state Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app. https://www.topcashback.com.au/bws/

          • As mentioned previously, other cashback sites (such as Cashrewards and ShopBack) also have the same T&Cs for BWS that cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

  • "Find Me Nearby" is all I can see. Is there any way to actually check what's available in my area?

    • It could be out of stock in your area. May I ask what you are searching for and which postcodes are near you? I could have a browse.

      • Thanks, mate. I'm searching for single malt scotch in the $70-$100 range within the 3000 postcode. For example, the search shows The Glenlivet 15 for $65.50, which is an unbelievable price for this dram. However, it's listed as 'Find Me Nearby.' After clicking through a dozen times, I found that the closest availability is at BWS Lara for $123. Hence my frustration—where's that $65.50 coming from?

        • @MOMEHT I didn't have much success on the website so I rang the BWS Flinders St store. The guy on the phone said the $65.50 is most likely a clearance price and stores have their own clearances. Unfortunately he cannot find any stock in his system for that price anymore or even stock nearby.

Whisky specials (Please note that cashback is not eligible for orders placed through the BWS app): https://bws.com.au/productgroup/whisky-specials

          • +1

@trixieb: Thanks for your efforts; I really appreciate it. I also started my search from the link you provided, and it showed The Glenlivet 15 for $65.50. It's frustrating to see such low prices on the BWS website when no one in the store can tell me where I can actually buy a bottle at that price. It's quite confusing and disappointing.

  • Being already on special, $67.20 for Teeling Single Malt is a very decent price after cashback.

  • I always end up stuck on the spinning icon after payment and then it either doesn't track or gets declined - admittedly have not tried via Top Cashback before, but the spinning icon is there this time again so it's deja vu - it's obviously an issue on BWS' website end, but I can't believe I fell for it again…cashback offers from BWS feel very scammy (but I forgot, so did it again, oops).

  • +1

    Very poor deal.
Tried to pay and arrange pick up at multiple (10+) BWS sites despite BWS advertising that they offer pick up (?during hours) at all these stores but none seem to offer ability to arrange pick up when ordering after hours 9pm.
Come on BWS you need to make pick up available when the stores are closed so that we can take part on this offer - ridiculous can't do this after hours!

    • Unfortunately this seems to be an issue with BWS every time there is a cashback offer with all the cashback companies. I've mentioned in the post about placing a pick up order during opening hours. It's a bummer if you don't get the opportunity to order during the day.

    • Yeah I swear making after hours pick up orders used to work but I noticed the same issue recently.

  • Previously on same phone with BWS app on phone order tracked as per my account details. ???? As previously mentioned in previous post

I have 4 out of 4 successful cashback with BWS and TCB
Nothing changed thus these should track Again no tel # or govt agency to complain to

I suspect more people go out of their way to have a whinge compared to those who are happy. In turn not so sure Id read too much into those percentages!
All my TCB rewards have tracked and been paid for. Yet to have a failure so 100% happy myself :-) BWS tracked fine from yesterday. Thanks TCB.

  • on the rewards app, I just received a spend $100 and get 1700 points by aug 11th. now I just need another Cashback in the next few days :-)

    • @wwwboy Don't know and hope so :)
Currently TopCashback has the highest cashback rate for BWS and is 5.6% for $100 or more (excluding delivery).
