had this for a number of years as an EDC (EveryDay Carry). was always next to my set of car & house keys. regretted it after a year or two because the connector tip is made of plastic that broke off. it still connects fine to a USB port, but depending on how rough you'd be with it, it might snap off the plastic tips.

    • Exact reason why I bought a metal one.

Kingston DataTraveler 256 GB 200MB/s Read Micro USB 3.2 Flash Drive

but when it was $40 ish.

    • Ditto for Ultra Flair.

" [(1) Write to drive up to 15X faster than standard USB 2.0 drives (4MB/s)"

Does that mean its write is only 60mb/s?

And "up to" probably means for the first 20MB or so…

    • Up to 60MB/s

Be aware that these may heat up quite a bit when writing.

  • Note: If you are using this USB stick to hold your MP3 or video collection and won't be disconnecting it often then this is fine but, as I have mentioned in previous postings, these are slow to write and get very hot. Also, the plastic connector is fragile and will quickly break if plugged in and removed many times. I recommend the Samsung Ultra Fit (the 256GB version was $26.14 during Prime Day sale but is back to $42.28 now) which has a metal connector, faster write speeds and does not get anywhere near as hot.

    • I think you mean Samsung FIT Plus. Its confusing that is such a similar name to this Sandisk Ultra Fit.

      • You are 100% correct my friend… I did mean Samsung FIT Plus (I should have re-read my original comment before posting).

  • Do these things still get as hot as the sun?

  • are these over heat ? They overheat the one i got from last deal

  • I have two of this and both failed when writing large files. No idea what's wrong but possibly caused by over heat.

  • Would this be okay to wack in a Firestick?

    • From lifewire.com…

For optimum performance, Amazon recommends your USB drive be USB 3.0 and no larger than 128 GB in size.

      • Thank you!

  • Cheers mate, needed one

  • I can attest to the plastic connector bit being fragile, I own one of these and the end bits have broken on mine already. I think it's also better to buy the metallic version for sturdiness in the future.

I use one of these (64GB version) for playing mp3s in my car. Easy for it to heat up under serious usage and drop performance, but my use case has been fine so far.

I got mine for cheap with Officeworks price beat, worth looking at who will match/beat this price.

I have the 128GB and it has painfully slow write speeds. It starts to get hot when writing to it and the hotter it gets the slower it becomes.

Yeah after the first couple of gigs they slow right down. So not great if you gonna use it a lot for big files.
