  • can someone please recommend one that will charge my mavic 3 and mini 3 pro drones at full speed at the same time. along with phone and ipad.

    • +3

Just add up the watts each one can charge at, then look for a charger with that wattage output (or more).

    • +5

On Amazon? Nope. Nothing on CCC.

Prove it was $49.99 rather than neg or at the very least provide where to get it cheaper NOW. Even prices that supposedly expired 2 weeks ago (which in this case I doubt your claim is true) is not a valid reason to neg if it is not obtainable today.

I look forward to you posting your first deal, member since 2010.

      • Sometimes ccc isnt accurate but ozb search didnt found that peice either. Also possible someone posted without proper name… so yeah lets wait what he will say

        • +4

Dollar bet we'll be waiting indefinitely.

        • It was only $5 cheaper for Prime member during Prime day sale.

      • +4

The issue with UGreen products, or at least this one specifically, is that the price listing (which is what's tracked by CCC) isn't reflective of the price people actually pay because there's usually some kind of coupon similar to the one in this deal. I checked my own purchase history and bought the wall plug version for $67.89 thanks to a similar code only a couple of months ago. The two products tend to be priced pretty much identically once the relevant coupon of the day is factored in (eg they're both $69.95 with the EWPZL745 coupon code).

I appreciate your sentiment towards the usefulness or correctness of beigehornet's comment and the "20 bux more expensive" is probably an exaggeration (happy to be proven wrong) but I think the 100w 4-port UGreen GaN charger in this deal generally does hover around that $65-$70 price range once coupons are factored in so whilst it's good value for what it is, it's in line with the long running average… and I say this as someone who was stalking reputable multiport GaN charger Amazon pricing (between this and the Anker 120w one) everyday for a few months!

        • +1

My experience matches what @jace88 mentioned. The checkout price on sale vs no sale but coupon for the past 5-6 weeks was $64.99.

I was looking at this or the 200w version, and then the 200w went on sale about a week ago for $149.99, the lowest it's ever been, so I jumped on it for the extra headroom and extra ports.

@beigehornet you might have accidentally jumped on an amazon.com link, not Australia as they usually go on sale there for $54.99 USD.

      • yep it was certainly cheaper last week.

I nearly pulled the trigger, then realised. it's crap because 2 ports are above 10.5w, the other 2 max out at 10.5 w

remember vote is on the deal, not you personally.

    • +6

And yet you didn't bother to post it for everyone else, making your comment invalid… good stuff.

      • +8

They want to keep their streak of zero posts in 14 years

    • You've posted no deals yourself but have the audacity to say "not a deal" to someone else? Even if it was cheaper 2 weeks ago lol

  • Are these ok to leave plugged in 24/7? Planning to have one on my desk

    • +3

I have been using one since the Prime day sales and leave it plugged in on my desk 24/7. No issues and paired with a matching UGreen cable cable it charges well. I do prefer the Cygnett charging cable that I have had for years as the UGreen is quite stiff and not as flexible.

There is a review out there, not sure if Reddit or Youtube, where there was several different of these chargers reviewed against each other and they can vary in recharge performance but no issues so far and just nice to have the four charging ports on a desk instead of a power board with difference chargers.

    • +1

yeah Ugreen stuff is generally of decent quality.
if it's not charging then it should be drawing little if any power.

  • +1

Not sure why many of these don't specify the length of the cord. For some ppl that's also important as much as the wattage.

    • +4

Not that it helps answer the question, but fyi it is a standard figure 8 cable.

      • -2

I did notice that but it doesn't help to figure out how long is the cable that comes with it. Cos I have 3m to the closest power point (including height to the standing desk) and if I'm to use this I'd like to bypass the need of another extension cable.
Edit: in one of the pictures in the Amazon listing it also illustrates the use of this instead of an extended power strip. In which case the length of the cable is a must to mentí on (however common/detachable the cable is). Just my 2 cents

        • +1

What's the big deal? Why not just ask the seller?

          • -4

@Notatightass: You must be kidding lol

            • @WhatsTheBigDeal: Lol you're conplaining about it missing info, so just ask the seller if u want to know.

              • @Notatightass: I'd rather buy something else which does (have the common sense to) mention the length which is an obvious missing info, rather than going thru the hassle of Amazon bot and waiting for an answer.

                • +3

@WhatsTheBigDeal: U can directly talk to the seller after answering a few basic questions to the bot. Probably easier and more effective than having a whinge on here. Lol

                • +12

@WhatsTheBigDeal: Dude, just get over it.

Cos I have 3m to the closest power point (including height to the standing desk) and if I'm to use this I'd like to bypass the need of another extension cable.

You want a 3M cord and expect a little desktop USB charger to come with one? Dream on- that will be three times bulkier than the charger itself.

It'll be some dinky little short cord, or a standard 1.8M / 6 foot one if you're lucky. No way will it be 3M.

Want a 3M cord? Dump one into your cart alongside the charger. Good luck finding a 3M figure 8 AU AC cord- I am sure they exist, but they are uncommon. Too uncommon to come bundled with USB chargers.

Not specifying the (almost always irrelevant to everyone else) length of the cord means the seller can package whatever they happen to have- if they change supplier of the AC cord, they don't have to go and update listings all over the interwebs.

            • +3

@WhatsTheBigDeal: Lmao. U neg me when i provide a suitable and reasonable solution to your issue.

        • Just buy this version https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Charger-Compact-Adapter-Mac… and plug it into a 3m extension cord.

    • +12

FYI the product description (under the Technical Specifications & Compatibility table) does state the length of cable. It is 2m

      Package Contents
      1x 100W USB C GaN Charger +
      1x 2M AU Plug AC Cable [Standard Figure-8 (IEC-C7)]

      • Thank you! I was looking for it everywhere I didn't notice that!

        • +2

It is hard to miss. I got curious so had to look. Took a few clicks. Should be more prominently listed.

          • +1

@Lucille Bluth: Took me a while to find it even after you mentioned where to check haha (I'm on app btw). Yep agree usually it's in the heading itself or under highlights.

        • Clearly not looking everywhere, and making big drama out of it on a forum instead.

          • +1

@rumblytangara: Not really, I'm sure my "drama" will help someone. Not everyone have the same experience or knowledge.
It's the purpose of comments. And someone was kind enough to find it for me from where it is deeply hidden, rather than displaying a "know it all" attitude.

            • -2

@WhatsTheBigDeal: Yes, because lots of users need 3M cables for their desktop USB chargers.

I do, as it happens, have 3M USB-C cables. But they were not so hard to find that I needed to expect others to find them for me.

For AC, like normal people, I use extension leads or power bars.

              • -1

@rumblytangara: So as per you, rather than me looking for the 3m one, I should be using this + 1m extension cord just because it's too short.
Btw I found what I was looking for with 3m cord coming with it.
Excuse me for looking for what I needed and not opting for normal by your standards.

                • +3

@WhatsTheBigDeal: No, you should be buying a charger based on ports, wattage and reliability, then using whatever figure 8 cable you want. Because the charger is designed to take interchangeable figure 8 cables. That's the great thing about this design- you customise it for length (or country when you travel.)

It's like complaining that a Holden doesn't come with the right colour of fluffy dice hanging from the rear view mirror. You add whatever fluffy dice you want afterwards- it just doesn't matter. Doesn't affect functionality, reliability, quality. And is trivially easy to do.

This entire little digression started because you couldn't read an Amazon listing properly and decided to whine about it.

Btw I found what I was looking for with 3m cord coming with it.

Good for you, for finally figuring out how to read on the internet properly.

                  • -4

@rumblytangara: I see you are new here - so I forgive you for your condecending attitude - you'll learn. FYI when ppl downvote your comments, it's a sign. Have a good day.
PS: the one I bought had the length clearly mentioned in the heading itself. So yes there is difference between being able to read the internet and needing to go into fine print to find it.

                    • +1

@WhatsTheBigDeal: Yeah, entitlement, assuming that you speak for the majority, and an inability to read will draw sarcasm and condescension. Get used to it :)

Wanna play the saddo vote game? Scroll up a little and look at the numbers.

          • @rumblytangara: Yeah lol, always more likely to find those details on the Amazon page instead of OzB

    • +5

I don't have specifics around the product you linked.

But do a quick search for Heymix products and you will find they have a bad rap on Ozbargain by the looks of it.

Seem to be issues around quality and in some cases safety.

    • +6

Definitely not. Ugreen use much better quality components. Just check heymix reviews on Ozbargain.com.au and keep away from it. No AU Standards

Even tho I haven't had any dramas with my heymix wall plug charger I wouldn't buy heymix again

    • Yeah that brand usually get a buy 1 get another free. The "another" free is a fire risk.

  • Ugreen safe . I wonder tho if using a heymix charger , and the worst happens , whether home insurance may be compromised due to the long running criticism on ozb etc ? Lotta money there ozbers !

  • Can anyone with this please advise if it has an issue with charging two devices simultaneously in USB-C?

My current one looks like it keep resetting when two usb c ports r used.

    • What do you mean by resetting?

      • I assume he means the charger overloads and trips.

      • Resetting in the sense that the charging icon on my phone keeps coming up. (Looks like I’m plugging it in and out)

  • 21V/5A =100W?

    • Rather than /, it would be more accurately written as 21V * 5A = ~100W

      • I just copied it from the link.

        • I was making a smartass pedant joke about math symbols, ignore me :)

          But yeah, 20V at 5A is 100W.

  • If someone who has this can confirm, thank you very much.
    So i see using one usb c = 100w
    Using 4 ports, the usb c = 45w

    My question:
What if i plug in 4 cables to each ports, but one connecting one to a device (for example 4 cables on there but connect the usb c to laptop. Will it give 100w or 45w out?

    Cheers.
Tdlr. Will this charger sees cable as device and distributes power to each cables?

    • I don't have the product but I doubt it. That means 100W to the only connected device and ignoring the cables.

    • +1

      look at the piccy.

      Port 1 = 45w max
      Port 2 = 30w max
      Port 3 &4 = 10.5w max

      • +1

Yes but my question is if i plug 4 cables but only one connected to a device.

      • That's if you have all four ports used.
If you connect a single USB-C device it will 100W on port 1 or 2.
Here's the picture from the product description

    • +1

      @BlueGlowOne @thatusername
Are you able to help me with above? Thanks

      • -2

No, I don't think it gives you 100w if you only plugged in one device. Its 100w altogether, which is a little misleading if you don't read the description carefully. As per @M00Cow comment above.

        • +4

That's incorrect, you can charge 100W if you only a single connection.
As for @CyberMurning question, you should be able to leave cables in the other ports and still get 100W from a single port.
Power is limited when multiple devices are connected, having the cables in them won't effect that

          • +1

            @FireRunner: ok thanks FR.
i wish someone who own this can test for me. i got desktop charger from blitzwolf that i suspect doing that (it sees cable as devices and distribute power)

            • @CyberMurning: I just bought this charger last week in Prime sales… here is the specs and power distribution from the manual based on what you may or may not plug in… Hope this helps for those wanting to know watts

              • @karakaan: @karakaan
thank you for that. but if you can confirm below:
plug in 4 cables to each ports
but connect ONE devices only to the first usb C for example. do you get 100W (ugreen know one device connected) or 45W (ugree see cables as the same as devices) ?

                • +2

@CyberMurning: ah ok you want to know if the chip inside swaps wattage output based on devices connected (actual draw) or whether or not a cable simply being plugged in makes it lower the watts (which would be stupid BTW)…!

I'll have to see if I can do that test as I may not have the requiste stuff lying around to do that test… (a single device that pulls 100W though I do have the new 145W Ugreen power bank, though knowing if it's actually pulling 100W is the unknown as the display is just a dumb percentage one not watts, and don't think I have a power meter lying around anymore to test with)

    • +1

In my experience with the 100w 4 port Ugreen GaN charger it actually impacts the power allocated when cables are plugged in even without any devices on the other end drawing power. I tried this when travelling where I left all my charging cables plugged in but only connected one device being a 100w laptop and the charger limited the power to 65w. I had to physically unplug all the cables and disconnect the charger from the wall and plug it back in again for it to reset to 100w on the first USB port.

      • Ok then no buy for me i want to keep this under my desk and have 4 cables on them all the time

  • bought this during prime day sales but it seems to drop the power intermittently. Is this normal for all multi-port charger?

    • I have Lencent charger and it restarts charging everytime I connect a new device. I think it recalibrates how much power to deliver based on connected port and device capabilities. Not all ports deliver same power on it and it changes based on number of devices connected upto a maximum of 65W.

For reference, this is the one I have:

LENCENT 65W PD GaN3 Fast Wall Charger Block, 6-in-1 USB C Charging Station with 2 Outlets, 2 Type C Ports, 2 USB Ports, Desktop Charger Power Adapter for iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Black https://amzn.asia/d/0gmhgdHF

      • Yeah I understand the redistribution of power when a new device is plugged in. But mine does that even when there's nothing else plugged in, is it faulty?

        • @thatusername
Thats my question too, see above.
Probably, it sees cable as device and try to give power to it therefore re distributes

        • +1

@thatusername Yeah that sounds like a fault to me.

  • +2

Bought this last year for my 2019 macbook pro (96W). For some reason it kept disconnecting so I had to return it. Ended up with Belkin's one that I got during jbhifi EOFY discount.

Not sure if it's just me, or anyone else got the same problem as me.

    • Yep same here. Just returned mine this morning.

    • Same. Mine seemed to have issues with providing constant power to my Zephyrus G14 which was annoying because everytime the laptop detected power on/off it would change various modes and beep at me, and sometimes caused games to have issues in switching between dGPU vs integrated graphics… maybe it was just constantly reassessing the power needs/etc but it was disruptive. I haven't had a similar issue since switching to the (much more expensive) Anker 120w 3-port.

      • okie will watch for that 120w but again i have no single device to utilise even 65w :(

        • +1

What are you buying the 4 port charger to charge or do you just like lots of outlets? For me the key benefit of these 100w+ GaN chargers is their size and ability to charge a 100w laptop (or even a 65w laptop). If you just want lots of outlets, maybe you don't even need a GaN charger.

  • -1

I feel that this is a bit $$ for 100W. I tried dipping my toe on a 140W jobby aliexpress, and it failed within the first two days of ownership, immediate refund and I was cautious from there onwards. I decided to try again (banggood) on a 200W GaN charger.

Well this time I've struck gold, it's a legend of a charger, it'll do my laptop though it doesn't like a nongenuine charger. I don't care, it'll do my devices (well 5 in total) all at the same time. 2 usbc ports @ 100W each, add another device, then one of the 100W ports drops to 65W and divvies up amongst the remaining three ports.

It doesn't have a brand on it, was around AUD$60-70 from banggood, wasn't sure if it'd burn down the house. I just need to get past a failed charger and find a good one.

What I do know is 100W laptop, 60W ipad pro, 30W phone, 100W bt speaker, 20Ah battery bank, various torches and sundry devices, all get serviced by this charger.

excuse my lack of detail it's been about 6mths since reading the owners booklet:

    usb-c 100W
usb-c 100W* (drops to service other ports if used)
    usb-c
    usb-a
    usb-a

    • Where is the link of the product??

      • -1

from 6-7mths ago, not gonna happen. Do what I did, start searching.

        • +1

          @Sheep Whisperer
i did. couldnt find 200w with 5 ports, all of them are 6 ports and only one usb c can do 100w
          maybe a photo?

          • @CyberMurning: I'd rather not simply because , if it should fail, lose money on it, it burns down your house…. I'd feel terrible finding out or similar.

I do remember reviews of customers about it failing, DOA for them which wasn't a good feeling when taking a chance on it.

            • @Sheep Whisperer:

I do remember reviews of customers about it failing, DOA for them which wasn't a good feeling when taking a chance on it.

When it comes to chargers you almost always get what you pay for. I'd rather pay more for a known good brand like UGREEN, Anker or Belkin than risk it with HEYMIX or some other generic brand, especially when it comes with the potential to start a fire.

There's videos on YouTube of people disassembling cheap chargers to see how they work, and the kind of stuff they uncover is horrifying.

              • @deadpoet: Would baseus make your list? I have 2 of the baseus 100W GaN chargers (from OzB listings of course) and contemplating another one from their ebay store. Don't have issues with the 2 I have and they're running over a year now.

                • +1

@lomie: nope basesus used to be good like 10 years ago now they just rebranding stuffs. same with blitzwolf

                • @lomie: Baseus would be in a lower tier than the brands I mentioned, but I still rank it above HEYMIX and mystery chargers. Definitely a discount brand.

                  • +1

@deadpoet: correct. at least their customer service is good i got few baseus from banggood/ebay it wasnt good they refunded half.

    • +1

I bought an asometech 140w for 37$ it was awesome but i wwanted more power so i got an asometech 260w for 60 to 70$ and its the dream. powers my soldering iron as well (pinecil). Best charger has pd 3.1 140w port as well

      • asometech that sounds like my failed one, it came with a plastic silver stand. It is quite small, but this 200W one is smaller again, it isthinner than the stand of the 140W.

        • yeah i think thats the one. I had some problems with negotiating samsungs 45w charging with it but it seemed to start working sometimes. worked well for all other protocols i tested. the 260w one works excellent with everything i just need to do further testing with the pinecil as that is the only pd 3 .1 device i have.
