bear in mind it does not come with auto empty dust station, its more of a robomop than robovac

I just have a bin close by to the station to manually empty the bin easily. Much easier than having to manually wash the mops that's for sure.

  • hows the review? worth getting for someone still on corded vacuum? does it lift on carpets?

    • Nah it doesn't lift on carpet. I find it compliments my corded vacuum. I use it daily as a maintenance clean and then still use my corded vacuum every now and then to get a deeper clean or to hit the edges / corners that it sometimes misses. Have a read of my more detailed post below :)

I've had this and have been using it nearly everyday for the last year or so… here's my thoughts on what I liked/disliked with it to hopefully help you out if you're on the fence.

    The Good:
    - it does an excellent job of mopping. Like seriously good. It's got two circular mopping pads that actually rotate as opposed to other models which shake and drag a rectangular cloth along the floor. it'll also return to the station to clean and rinse out the mopping pads every 10, 15 or 20 mins (you can set this) so you're not cleaning with a dirty mop.
    - it excels in daily maintenance. No, it probably won't beat your corded dyson vacuum or whatever but it does a good enough job of keeping your place clean and somewhat dust free when used regularly. You'll still need to do a deep clean manually once every month (or few months) if you're sensitive to dust. I found the suction and performance no worse than my cordless stick vacuum but slightly less powerful than a corded one.
    - it moves through your place systematically so it's less likely to miss a spot (as opposed to manually cleaning with a cordless stick vacuum)
    - Comes with spare mopping pads and replacement parts are fairly cheap and easy to come by
    - Allows you to customise how you want to clean (e.g. set up where to clean first, clean certain rooms only, do a single pass? double pass? quick sweep vs detailed clean? It's got it all covered.
    - Can scan and remember up to 3 "floor plans" - it'll automatically detect which one to use or alternatively, you can choose (e.g. I have one set up for upstairs and another for downstairs. It'll know which to use depending on where it is.
    - Can be programmed to run on schedule.
    - Battery life is good enough to clean a fairly large floorplan on one charge with some left over. We can probably clean upstairs and downstairs easily on one single charge when doing single cleaning passes, or about 1.5 floors when doing double pass.
    - Has a decent video call feature and can be remotely controlled / driven around the place with 2 way audio / video. (I don't use it often but when you need it, it's pretty handy).
    - Decent customer service who were helpful when I had a minor (cosmetic) issue with mine, they were happy to send out a replacement part free of charge.

    The Not So Good:
    - The app has ads.. like wtf? IMO this is a pain in the arse and no go for such an expensive, product that you paid for.
    - When vacuuming carpet, we have to empty the dust bin after every run. (When running on hard surfaces, it can usually go a couple runs before doing so).
    - It sometimes bugs out and disconnects from the network. Need to manually reset to reboot
    - Once in a blue moon it might forget or mess up the map. For example right now it's somehow lost it's point of reference in my place… It still runs fine, but it thinks there's some rooms it can't get to on the floor plan that aren't actually there in reality (these were previously the correct rooms in our place before it lost the reference point).
    - On the rare occasion, it'll just stop cleaning for no reason and then just kinda sit there…. until it runs out of battery and then itll run back to the station and charge. Doesn't happen often but when it does it's bloody annoying.
    - When in mopping mode, running on double cleaning pass and a detailed clean, you'll need to be prepared to refill the clean water tank fairly regularly. I find it'll use about 70% of the water tank in every mop (it'll never run out, but it's not enough to do the same thing again the same day)… and you can probably get 2 to 3 cleans in before you have to empty the dirty tank. You'll probably want to empty the dirty tank regularly though because it'll get stanky real fast if you dont.
    - Can sometimes miss corners or be too conservative to bump into thing (hence doesn't get extremely close to clean around obstacles).

    The Random:
    - It doesn't lift mopping pads but it does a decent job of knowing when it's about to hit a rug or carpet and steers away from it. The edges of the carpeted area might get slightly wet from the mop skipping past it but it won't actually try to run or mop over carpet.
    - This brings me to the next point, you have to manually take out the circular mopping pads from the base of the machine if you want it to run in vacuum mode. When the pads are in, it'll default to mopping mode and avoid all carpet (it'll take like 2 seconds but is still some manual effort nonetheless)
    - It has an automatic mop drying feature where it runs a fan to air dry the mopping pads. It's good, but doesn't run long enough to fully dry the pads. I find I have to set it on a second drying run manually, or just live with slightly damp pads (not an issue for me as I run it nearly everyday).
    - It has trouble detecting and avoiding certain obstacles - mostly things that are too low to detect or "bump" into. (e.g. we have some swivelly stools with fairly low and flat bases…it'll sometimes run into it and try to mount it and then get stuck.
    - I got this last year for $999. Would I get it for $799? Yes, but only if you can put up with some of the quirks I mentioned above. We use it mostly for daily maintenance and the mopping feature is great.
    - Getting the next model up which automatically empties the dustbin into the station would be a game changer. In hindsight we should have gotten that model but we didn't think (and still don't) think it's worth the cost difference (which was like $500 when on sale/ $1000 when not on sale at the time).

    Hope this helps!

    • Great review. I really want to get this for the mop feature but the thing stopping me from buying it is the poor reviews about random dropouts (like you stated) and poor customer service.. is the $799price worth that…

I got this for $599 off their eBay listing, and for that price, it's an absolute steal.
Says it's refurbished on the title but mine looked 100% new & unused.

I have the Eufy X10 Omni Pro downstairs as my main and it's awesome. Lifts up mop for rugs etc.
I'm using this X1 turbo upstairs and it's been just as good tbh. (especially as I have no rugs, carpets upstairs)
I used to own the Ecovacs T8+ and it was horrendous. Losing location, maps etc. X1 Turbo doesn't do this.
