Great game. Wish they'd brought out more like this, Heavy Rain, and Beyond.
Probably the only games I've ever completed.

If you like horror (I don't but still enjoyed this game) until dawn is good. Lots of cliches from 00s teen horror which is fun.

      • +3

Until Dawn is being remade for ps5. I am holding out from that one

I tried Res Evil on VR. That thing had me screaming like a girl :D

Yeah these games are great, they feel like interactive movies. Plus "X to Jason".

Heavy Rain is cheesy but so good. Hope they do more like it.

    • The company that made those games is doing a Star Wars title next. Should be good hopefully.

      • Can't believe David Cage and his Quantic Dream studio sold out to do Star Wars. The guy has been the greatest writer of games for around 20 years. Sad that they couldn't go with another original idea.

I mean…. While I've enjoyed most of Cages games from Fahrenheit onwards, you can't deny they have a certain schlock value to them when it comes to the story.

If they do a Star Wars story and do it right, could be epic.

    Love it!

Isn't this available as part of the PS+ Catalogue?

I added it to my library from there, and this is the only game I've played through multiple times to see the different outcomes.

    Really great game. Highly recommend.

Was about to say the same. I thought everyone already had this on PS Plus. Phenomenal game!

    • It was. I don't think that catalogue exists anymore. So you would have had to of added it to your library before it was disbanded. Which lucky for me, I did. Though I haven't played it yet.

      • +1

I added it to my library when it was offered as the monthly freebie, but didn't download it. Now it's not there :(

        • +2

I also added to my library at some point and although it shows as "unavailable" when looking in the playstation app, I can continue to select standard edition and then download to my console.

    Is that Craig Lowndes?

Firecracker from The Boys is in this.

Whoa! I knew I'd seen the actress somewhere before, but I couldn't figure out where until I read your comment. Thanks for dropping that bit of trivia.

      • +1

always thought it was Jennifer Lawrence. Thanks for sharing this.

  • One of the best games I’ve ever played, wish it was 60fps though on ps5 .

  • 28 STAB WOUNDS!

  • Quen are quantic dream releasing another game ? Or did all employees quit from the crunch culture ?

highly recommend this game I have finished this game on PS3, PS5, and PC I have played it over and over again about 7 to 8 times, They have so many variations of the story based on what decisions you make. its insanely good game.

Unpopular opinion, but didn't enjoy the game.

Played Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls and this.

If you haven't played interactive movies, it's like watching a movie with chores. The QTE feel shoehorned into the game. It took me out of what could be an immersive experience.

Since its an interactive movie, I am a lot more critical of the story. Heavy rain was good, B:TS wasn't. This Detroit Became human, also not.

Why do the andoids gain consciousness? They are victims of violence. Okay, who are they against? Humans who are the oppressors. Should androids have rights? Well, you can't choose otherwise in the game. Humans are garbage and androids are slaves.

For an interactive movie that is supposed to make your own choice, a black and white framed by this game sucks. It doesn't explore what does it mean to be human?

Finally, music is good but not S tier level for me

Tl;dr unpopular opinion, Detroid: Become Human is not very good game

    • Fair enough, I have played it numerous times and each time had a very different experience. There are well over 80 different endings, probably around half have some overlap to a degree so go with 40. That's still a lot.

      • My issue is not with the size but how superficial it tackles the overall story.

"They are not a machine, they are alive". It doesn't go deeper than that. It's all very surface level to sound emotional and big when it is not. From a sci-fi perspective, it doesn't challenge our taken for granted understanding of being alive, conscious, rights, autonomy. The message is very in your face and one sided.

With the ambitious number of endings, the writing suffered from consistency and has a lot of contrived conflicts which further breaks immersion

  • oh cool.. I guess I'll download that from ps+ library and have a go :)
    just finished Scadutree

  • In some ways like a good bottle of red wine this game has aged will and is even more relevant today. 80+ different endings, some can be quite disturbing\confronting.
It's not an action style game, but more an adventure game, absolutely a must play.
