Nikon D600 + Twin Lens Kit = $2,889.99USD [from Costco US Only]

http://www.costco.com/Nikon-D600-Full-Frame-DSLR-Camera-2-Le…

Unfortunately, they don't ship to Australia.

I have a friend in the US that is able to bring to to AUS, but just want to get a second opinion about buying DSLRs from overseas and bringing it to AUS. anyone had any issues with warranty? or any experiences/issues in general

most important question of all .. is it a good price?

Cheers

  • Pretty sure as a member if you get it from Costco you can take it back to any Costco worldwide as well.

    • yep thats right. 90 day worldwide returns.

amazon has the almost same kit for $3,286.95 (no wireless dongle, bag or sd card):

      http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Digital-Camera-24-85mm-3-5-4-5G/…

I think I'm gonna take the plunge

      • That's good an all, but how do they refund USD to AUD?

        • not sure how Costco does it, but I've seen USD bank cheques being drawn by other companys in lieu of refund payment. Then it's up to the customer to cash/deposit it at a bank.

I'm more interested regarding: does the refund goto the member that purchased the item, or can anyone get a refund… eg, if my friend purchased the camera - can only he refund it?

        • I refunded something on behalf of my wife and her card, but it went back onto her credit card too.
At the same time in the line next to me, a guy was trying to get a refund for something his son bought but didn't have the purchasers member card. they wouldn't do the refund.

        • thanks for that greenspoon. made my decision alot easier.

  • Thats a really good price… very tempted!

  • PS Nikon does not offer world wide warranty, so may decline to service a warranty repair in AU if the device has non-AU serial number

    • zzzz i didn't know that.

considering how some D600's have and issues (google D600 grey oil) this is a dealbreaker.

    • +1

I recently had to take something into Nikon australia to get serviced which I got from the US

I'm pretty sure lens has worldwide warranty

      but body is not covered

the guy at Nikon did say that they will service equipment (under warranty) that came from the same place they sourced their stuff (he mentioned Hong Kong)

I can't say this applies to the body though

beware, I was horrified when I got the service estimate to fix my flash commander… Labour to repair things is billed at $90 an hour. I ended up buying a new flash commander cause it was more expensive than buying a brand new one ( Australian stock not grey) when labour is included
