House Prices - How to Get Agent Valulation Values in VIC Once The House Is Sold

Victoria has 'agent valuation' done for all properties in property.com.au for instance; but this information is not shown in the property history once it is sold.

Do you know of any plugins/ideas to find what was the agent valuation for a particular property? (I understand there is Chrome/Brave plugin for domain.com.au for price history, but couldn't find the list price in that)

Thanks in advance

Agent valuation is an guesstimate. The only real value of the house is what someone in the market was willing to pay for it.

Do you mean you're after the actual sales price?
You can see the sales history for any address, without needing an account, on property.com.au. It will also provide an estimate of current value.

Note that there will obviously be a time where the sold property is in a bit of a limbo state where the buyer had their offer accepted but settlement hasn't gone through yet. In that stage there is no way to know what the property was sold for, so you'll have to wait until after settlement

    • Not just sale price. The agent price guide will help us to see which bracket the house prices actually sell for an can see which agents put prices higher than normal etc.

Once you realise how little it takes to be an agent you'd probably don't want to do that.

Even qualified valuers with professional indemnity (in case bank needs to sue them) there is so many disclaimers the PI is just a sham (plenty of valuers got sued in the UK and I've followed quite a few cases and it is like you can't get another valuer to testify the other one is wrong because they will be shooting their profession in the foot).

Here is what they claim to do if you get a properly qualified valuer:

All valuation services we offer are compliant with the strict quality standards set out by the Australian Property Institute (API) and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). With 20 years of experience each, our Certified Practising Valuers (CPVs) tailor every valuation to your needs.
