all good and well but dont be like me and forget about the 30 day expiry

    • +2

Thanks for the reminder! Had $30 sitting there from last year.
      Scratch that, $60!

      • Where do you find the voucher? I did this process. Kind of forget about it in the 14 days waiting for it and now I'm not sure if the 30 days have expired! Where do you find your active vouchers?

        • +2

Search "Membership! Have a $30 Gift Card on Us" in your emails.
I found one that was almost at the three years.

  • +2

Appears to replace [eBay Plus] $30 eBay Gift Card Member Retention Offer (Regular Renewal Cost $49) @ eBay, though a voucher is worse than a GC.

Go to this page to cancel your membership.

  • +2

Can confirm works, did it earlier. As JW said, 30 day expiry and issued 14 days after renewal.

Thank You for Choosing eBay Plus - $30 eBay Voucher

Voucher delivered 14 days after membership payment. Expires 30 days from issue. T&Cs apply

  • +2

Any deal for new sign ups

  • any final value fee deal?

  • +9

Honestly, not much of a deal I can find on eBay Plus these days apart from the end of financial year seller $0 fees. Gone those days where they have eBay plus sales, $99 AirPods?

  • Thanks OP! Worked for me…

  • I just paid my membership for next 12 months today. Hope I will be eligible for this offer

    • Go ahead and try to cancel and see what happens. Even if you cancel today it will still be valid for the 12 months.

      • Can confirm - My subscription renews in December, just tried to cancel and got the $30 voucher retention offer.

  • +2

I find myself using ebay very less nowadays.
I buy a lot from Amazon though.
However those items which I do buy from Ebay cost double on Amazon.

    • I only buy jayo 3d filament from ebay now lol
Plus Amazon is so much more convenient

      • +1

I've not had a delivery arrive in under two weeks from Amazon.

Not very convenient for us rural folk unfortunately

        • +1

Rural also, and shop from both, because things take forever to arrive no matter who you buy from.

          • @RolloTomasi: I have actually had AliExpress arrive in faster time!!

The 'Choice' offerings are cheaper, especially for the simple electronics stuff I am getting, and certainly better value for money than either Amazon or eBay - and now they're delivering faster too (unless I stumble upon a local eBay seller)

        • +1

Regardless of where you live CBD or rural, if your courier is 'Aramex' which Amazon sometimes use you won't see your package for a long, long, long time.

Aramex are a useless shower of shit.

          https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/aramex-courier

Aramex using to be called 'Fastway Couriers' but ran away from their name for obvious reasons.

          https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/fastway

      • +1

The main turnoff for me is Ebay's lack of specific per product - item feedback rating and number bought (per Aliexpress). Having a rating for the seller isn't enough info for me in most cases where they sell various stuff.

      • Better/easier returns policy also on anything they ship.

    • Amazon used to be good but somehow felt it has gone downhill. Customer service still excellent but no longer competitive compared to local stores and sometimes even eBay, plus more and more junk on Amazon, just like eBay…

  • +13

I don't think I'll renew my eBay Plus unless it's free I get such little value out of it these days.

    • +1

Same. I've only purchased 2 items since my last renewal.

Either use Amazon or AliExpress, or visit a brick and mortar.

  • My membership renews in 4 days … perfect thankyou

  • +7

with no final value fee discounts and $5 voucher min spend increased to $35, plus became truly worthless for me this year. Will only sign up if its free

    • I gotta agree with you. It was really good before but now kind of crap.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Should the offer come up straight away or do you need to click through to "Cancel anyway" on the first "… are you sure you want to end your eBay Plus membership?" pop-up?

    • +2

Cancel anyway > select your reason, next > offer pops up.

      • Yes thanks this helped me get it and as per another comment, take screenshots of the offer and acceptance.

  • They refused to give me mine, despite being offered it and taking a screenshot of my person offer that was accepted prior to signing up.

  • I thought I saw a $50 version of this deal, posted late last year here…
    My bad, expired and different.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/808968

    • This can be seen as the regular ongoing promo, they occasionally do better ones.

  • +4

Keep screenshots and records of when you canceled and were offered the retention deal. They didn't honor it for me and I couldn't prove when I had taken up the offer..the date is critical.

  • I am not sure how this will work and when will I get promo code for $30. So current membership finishes end of Aug. As soon as I accepted offer message came that I should get voucher by 14/08/24. That is before my current membership ends, so does that mean i can use that voucher and still cancel my membership at end of august.

  • Thanks, I nearly forgot to do this before it renewed 👍

  • +3

Can confirm. I cancelled my eBay Plus 2 days ago. I was offered $30 eBay voucher but I declined. I couldn't find any value on eBay Plus anymore.

  • Cancelled mine recently like a lot of you.. the value isn't there any more.

  • I've been with eBay plus for nearly a year and only benefited from being a member once. Lol, Amazon on the other hand…

  • +1

Is there some sort of confirmation email once we accept the offer?

  • +1

Did this and cancelled but no offer………suggest it is targeted
Edit membership > Cancel membership > Cancel anyway > Select reason, next > Keep my benefits and receive a $30 voucher

    • same, didn't get any offer

EDIT - ok I went back and actually did next to cancel and I got the voucher this time. I was just doing select reason, keep my benefits before.

  • +10

After they took out $5 off $15, eBay plus is just worthless now.

  • The correct way to make the most out of this offer is:

Edit membership > Cancel membership > Cancel anyway > Select Reason > Cancel anyway

Plus use to be ok, then they watered it down again and again.

  • I don’t understand when am I supposed to get the voucher, my membership expires in 10 months and I paid a couple of months ago so the voucher should be already here???

    • I said "within 14 days after payment" , so I assume you would get it after the next renewal payment

      • So I have to wait 10 more months to get it???

  • Jack retention? Pass.. 🤣

  • Wait… it never was $50 minimum spend was it?

  • Last time I took this offer they never gave me the money and chasing it was like looking for $30 on the street while walking.

  • There has been no discount this month for the usual "0% Variable Final Value Fee" or "half price postage" discounts for sellers. No point in having ebay plus if this continues.

    • For sellers, yeah. For a little while there it was really good value, I still have hope the seller promos might return.

  • Can anyone have the same problem as mine? my ebay plus membership expired on Dec 2024.
when I click " Edit my membership", there is no "cancel my membership"" options.

    only showing:
    " view my invoice" and
    "ebay plus terms and.conditions"

    • Do you mean 2023? You need to be a member to get this deal, it works for me with an account ending April next year.

    • You've probably cancelled it already.

      • Oh, good point. I can see this being the issue.

      • maybe u r right…)

  • eBay are scum.
I never got my $5 monthly vouchers. They replied with an email listing even more months they didn't pay (I missed one) and they are working on it… After 6 months and 3 calls (even got abused on the 3rd one)… nothing..eBay can just go away! Now been 12 months ..offered nothing.

Also, had 2 items not arrive. They got a refund from the seller..and then kept the $5…never issued a replacement voucher.

Twice the reason eBay can get stuffed.

None of the Cashback promos, or eBay plus promos apply if you use your plus voucher.
Three times the reason eBay…can get stuffed.

  • Worked for me, thanks OP

I don't mind eBay, useful for those bits and pieces I need plus scored my Airpods Pro for a great price.

  • I've used eBay less this year. But when you make back more than the membership fee in more than one transaction (a fridge via appliances online), everything is really a bonus after that.

This bonus $30 makes it even better! Although it's not until January.

  • Spent 20 mins online going around in circles trying to cancel eBay plus and then another half hour on the phone. The first lady couldn’t even figure it out herself. What a scam by eBay to try and retain you.

  • The “Keep my benefits and receive a $30 voucher” option does not appear for me
My current subscription ends in a few days

    • Only on desktop not app

  • +2

thanks for reminding to cancel, even with $30 voucher - unfortunately there is little to no value in it. I liked when it was $5 off $15 voucher each month but now the min spend has increased to $35.

  • +4

It used to be a $30 gift card, but now it's a $30 voucher (Min $50 Spend) that lasts only like 30 days. And you probably can't stack it with any of those big discount codes etc. Have to use it to pay towards a full priced item.

  • thanks for the reminder. In the past it has been better to let your membership expire and ebay will get back to you after a month or 2 and offer a 40-50$ voucher, which makes the membership for the next year free. Worked for me the past 3 years.

  • +1

Just did as suggested, but where should the voucher show up ?
Got no message after I clicked "Keep my benefits".
Will it arrive by email ?

    • +1

Got it, requires one more step where you have to choose the "I want to cancel option"

  • Had one day left on plus - perfect timing!

  • Nice, mine expires 9th Aug. Thanks OP

  • I cancelled yesterday and received this offer and declined, good to see so many people cancelling their subscription, maybe it will give Ebay a nudge to give back some of the fee free listing offers that have been absent in recent months.

  • +4

Looks like they're changing the $5/$35 spend voucher to $5/$25 spend starting this/next month, a step in the right direction.

    See here, T&Cs.

Curiously my current $5/$35 vouchers (received in June) have disappeared from 'My eBay', luckily I kept copies of them just in case and can confirm they still work.

Edit: Anyone who received their monthly code in July should already be seeing the change but there has been no mention of it, has no one got it yet?

    • +3

Yep I got it, thanks for letting me know!

But still not as good as the $15 minimum spend, and still no eBay plus postage label / 0% FVF fee promo this month. One step forwards but 25 steps back in the other direction with eBay… (**TCs apply with screenshots needed)

eBay Plus members get AU $5.00 off* every month on purchases of AU $25 or more. *Excls & T&Cs apply.

  • This did not work for me. It just cancelled my membership instead.

  • +1

Payment declined due to an expired CC. So no ability to access the retention offer. Reached out to ebay and they basically said too bad and not even an offer of a credit to continue my plus membership. So goodbye ebay plus. Fleabay can shove it.

    • Same here. On the plus side (no pun intended) you can now start a free trial when you need to use a plus feature.

      • Yep, just remember no access to sign up credit offers though because we're not new members.

  • +1

Another one who canceled even with the $30 offer

    • Same, only made 3 eBay purchases in 12 months

  • I got sucked in by this short lived $30 on $50 spend coupon vs the previous $30 gift card offer for renewing

The minute i realised I contacted EBay CS and cancelled and have requested a full refund of my $49 renewal fee as i would not have renewed if id realised they gone all Lando Calrissian on me

  • +1

Cheers for the info, did this and it worked, my email from eBay saying my membership is renewing got me searching up here 🤭

Ebay also tell me I've now saved $900 since joining, unsure if that's right seems excessive

  • Anyone else got a gift card instead of a voucher? I got a gift card that says it expires in 3 years.
