The 1.1GHz 2 core CPU in that ASUS, most likely Celeron N4500, is very slow. I've seen reviews that say it has a TN screen. It will be "okay" if you really dislike your mum. You can get refurbished Dell Latitude 5500 or ThinkPad T580 for around the same price (use the current eBay coupon) that are probably better computers in every way except the battery life.
