Can we register now and guaranteed that 1gb, but starting to use it from say 1st of September?

      • +10

Just tried it and it says Activate Before 24/08/2024

        • +2

Ok then i register next month thanks

      • I just did one for Hong Kong and says activate before 21 Sep 2024. Given today is 21 Aug 2024 then I’d say the activation period is a month.

I got free 5GB as their NordVPN customer.

    • That's sweet, do you have to do anything to access that?

      • +2

Nord sent out an email a while back with a code you can use in Saily for the 5GB

    • +1

How did you do this? I don't see any way of signing in with my Nord account, or any link from the Nord website…

      • +1

I just checked my emails and on 3rd July received "Get 5GB of travel data for free" and on 5th July received "Ends soon: Get 5GB of travel data for free".

If you're a Nord customer search your email for those subject lines.

The offer is valid until August 2, 2024, 11:59PM UTC.

        • Thanks for the detail mate. Just checked my emails and I did received on 26th June snd it says Activate the offer within 30days of claiming your gift.
The good thing is that there is no expiry date to Claim the gift.

          • @Be Happy: How much subscription time did you have left?
Emailed Nord and they're saying I need to buy a new sub on top of my 19 months to get it! Lol

        • Got nothing from them…oh well…

    • Same currently using it in NZ. Working well.

    • For how many days of usage?

  • +1

It only allows you to create an acc with goggle or apple then I get this error message:
Unable to process request due to missing initial state. This may happen if browser sessionStorage is inaccessible or accidentally cleared. Some specific scenarios are - 1) Using IDP-Initiated SAML SSO. 2) Using signInWithRedirect in a storage-partitioned browser environment.

  • Thanks OP! Will be using it next week. Got 12 hours to kill in San Francisco. This 1GB will be handy when out and about.

  • Is there an expiry by which to use the free data when claimed?

  • What happens if you visit a neighbouring country do u need a second sim?

    • I would assume so

    • +1

Stand on the border and you should be good.

  • +1

Anyone use this overseas yet and can give some feedback on their experience with it?

Going to South Korea soon and looking for eSIM options.

    • I used them in the States last month - was happy with it.

    • +1

      travelkon, lemon, klook

  • +4

red bull esim free data good aswell

  • Do we have to choose the country first?

    • Yeah i just signed up with choosing a country.

Came in clutch as i'll be needing a esim in Malaysia in a couple days. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Yeh - but ….. we used it in Germany last week (worked really well; not sure what Telco it was using as seems to come up with a generic MVNO-type name) , and then coming back home via Qatar/Doha and it still worked there!

    • +1

you'll need to enter the promo code FELIX to bring it down to $0

      • Seems to be working now. Thanks

    • +1

      Did you try the steps?

      User error

  • Works for me , but expires in 1 month. But many trip still 2 months away

  • Thanks OP.

They don't state which carrier they use for each Country? I cannot see it

    • They use vodafone 4G for AU, with a local core so ping isnt too bad

  • How does it work with Wi-Fi calling? Can it be used to receive and make calls from Telsla network having a WiFi calling supported phone?

    • I'm using this and a SIM from TravelKon in Fiji with Boost Mobile and it's not working with either. Last year, I had luck with GigSky, I believe. Otherwise, I'm having to use wifi here for VoWiFi.

      • Using a Mobile phone Overseas – eSIM, Travel SIM, International Roaming

Using a secondary e/SIM for Wi-Fi calling with your primary is only possible if the secondary is not roaming, so likely local to its location

        • Ahh good to know, better to pick up a local SIM in the future!

          • +1

            @doot: I am testing a workaround.
Used my free (or $10/month unlimited calls) VoIP service from current broadband provider, installed free VOIP app called Zoiper and try diverting mobile number calls to this VOIP number. Theoretically it should work overseas for just $10/month.

            • +3

@vovka: Using a Mobile phone Overseas – eSIM, Travel SIM, International Roaming

If you have a VoIP provider like Crazytel for your fixed/landline phone number, then you could divert your Australian mobile number to it, and receive (as well as make) calls via their CrazyPhone app, which also allows you to set its caller ID as your mobile number:

              • Whirlpool CrazySaver PAYG Plan $0.35/mth ($0.09/min calls to Australian mobiles)
              • standard PAYG Untimed Plan $1/mth ($0.05/min)
              • international call rates
      • If I use this eSIM in another phone and create a WiFi Hotspot from it can I then connect the main phone and use WiFi calling?

          • @tonester: Don't understand why it's called WiFi calling then. Does Telstra limit WiFi calling service to AU IPs only? Or the phone has to be connected to Telstra GSM network at the time of the call?

            • @vovka: sorry, ignore my previous comment (for some reason i confused with optus) - it should work

  • +1. Used this when in Hawaii and worked a treat. Although my freebie came with 3gb was excellent coverage. Some points , the coverage was better than the T-Mobile one we had.

  • Thanks for sharing OP.

  • +2

I have signed up twice - once using apple account and once using google. I have a 2 week trip starting on Friday so hope to use the 2 e-sims serially to cover my full trip.

  • Great deal
    Thank you so much op

    Saved me an expense

  • looks like a great deal.

    • -2

      Imagine getting negged for that

      • -2

Imagine getting negged for saying "imagine getting negged for that".

        • Bigger question is, what happens to you 🤞

  • -4

Impossible to sign up this deal should be deleted

  • Sweet!

Can redeem this one for mum and dad… though 7 days is kinda crap for the trips my folks take.

Will be a good stop over/in transit option for my wife assuming it supports the country she's going through.

  • +2

you can also add multiple plans on one account. I tried 5gb free code from Nord vpn and code Felix for 2 different countries, It worked.

  • +2

Just beware the carrier. I was in Mexico and was offered a free 1gb sim. It ran so dlow as to be unusable. I am on Boost in Australia and their roaming pack didnt work once for data in the 3 weeks I was away. I used the Airolo app to buy an esim which worked very well the whole time and saved my bacon. Bit of frigging around to make work but so important to have data, it was worth it.

    • Were the countries you visited listed as compatible with roaming on Boost? Going to Japan in November and weighing up options.

  • I've got data working but it won't let me make any calls… anyone else?

    • Does not come with a phone number attached to the service.

      • Ehhh my bad! Cheers.

  • can anyone give a step by step instruction?
I cannot get it free, and cannot enter Felix code.
    Thanks

May be a little off topic but just for USA travel with an e-sim compatible phone, a friend suggested to use Free "T-Mobile Network Pass" with no strings attached.

    More info here: https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/free-trial.

It suppose to give unlimited talk/text as well as data for 3 months.

Wondering if anyone has used it and could comment on it in terms of registering it in Australia (before leaving to USA) and then use it straight away when we land in USA ?

Apparently other USA carriers do similar "try before buy" deals.

Installed esim a couple of days ago but didn't press activate in the app. Today it says expired, even though I didn't activate? Registered on the 24th but expired by 27th?

  • +1

Would not recommend Saily. Unable to use the data after esim was installed and activated

  • Coupon doesn’t work anymore

  • +2

    Doesn't work!
Registered etc.. installed a few days ago via app.
Arrived in Qatar, seems to connect to Vodafone in Qatar but will not work, no data flow.
Done the usual checks, turned phone on/off, roaming data on etc etc..

  • +2

It does not work in Netherland
I registered when I was in Sydney. I turn it on when I am in Amsterdam. I get 'LTE" but no data flow. I cannot even use gmail.
I tried turning phone on and off still the same.
Fortunately I also gets a data SIM from Travelkon and it works.

  • Speedtest has also released a similar 7 day fly.

  • I'm sort of new to this could someone explain how it works? I got a new phone and I plan to spend a week in Canada before travelling but it's not worth setting up a standard plan for so short a trip.

This or any similar deals would be helpful!

  • Can you tether with Daily, and what is the currency in USD or AUD as it doesn't actually say. Its in USD for those who want to know :/
